Doing a chemical peel was the best thing I did for my skin. I ended up doing a deep orange peel and my scarring for the most part is gone, and my pitting too. The only thing is to make sure you avoid sunlight as much as possible and depending on the color of your skin/condition you could end up looking like a pumpkin for 1-2 weeks so factor that in too. You have to put the peel lotion on 3-5 days in thick layers and it will begin to peel quickly. After you have a peel make sure to moisturize your new baby skin!

I'm really fair and I wear the highest factor I can find under the sun....my skin is therefore quite sensitive- what peel should I do? I've got milia on my forehead and I heard a peel would be good to get rid of it.
I went through bad, painful hormonal acne in my 20s. I’m so glad I resisted picking or scratching or using abrasive OTC scrubs. I ended up without scarring except a tiny one on my forehead and that’s fine!
Are there any risks to chemical peels? You talked about risk of complications and scarring for the very deepest peels, and that you don't perform those because of that. But are there any risks for the other kinds of chemical peels, besides scarring if you pull on the peeling skin?
I'm so lucky to have made it through acne without any scars on my face. The only mark is this one, very faint mark that scarred from chicken pox. My body didn't make it through acne unscathed, though. :( Do they do chemical peels on shoulders? I'd have to book a time when I can chill at home without a shirt. Also, Michael Jackson went through many treatments for his vitiligo. They used to just cover it with makeup, but it became a situation where it was just too much makeup, and couldn't hide it anymore, so they did some harsh treatments. He just wanted to look like not a freak. It's a shame that society didn't understand vitiligo like it does today. His self-esteem was terrible, so he figured people would freak out at his patchy face. I think hiding away did more damage than if he was just honest. But, oh well. That was so long ago. Best not to dwell on it now. I'm so happy to see vitiligo representation these days.
Michael Jackson had that skin disorder where the skin cells lose pigmentation. He was dark skinned and first developed the white skin on his hands, and later his face. I don’t know if he lost all pigments in his skin all over his body, but I had to do some research on him once and that’s what I learned 🙈
I had a milia under 1 eye, I place a drop of Differen on it overnight and it helped. The next night I placed a drop of Ordinary SA liquid on it. The next morning, the milia disappeared. 😂😊

If the chemical peel contains glutathione and a black or brown person such as myself gets it, would that make the face appear unnaturally pale or would it just remove the scarring as intended?
Pretty sure you have to use glutathione many times for it to lighten skin. I don't think using it for one peel is going to dramatically whiten your face.
When I was a teen, I had horrible acne! Nothing I bought worked so one day I did my own thing. Wiped my face down with hydrogen peroxide at night before bed and very lightly rubbed antibiotic ointment all over my face. That worked.
Dermaroller has practically erased my ice pick scars .I had laser resurfacing multiple times and it helped a LOT - BUT my DERMAROLLER is the only tnint that gave me back truly smooth skin , and it's so cheap ! Makes me want to try RF microneedling ...seriously my cheeks aren't textured anymore ! I can only imagine was microneedling would do 😻
Yes! Dermarolling really helped me with my atrophic scars, too! I am just trying to figure out how to get in a good regimen of peels plus dermarolling. When I want to use the roller, I usually have some acne, so then I end up doing a sal. acid peel. By the time I wait another few wks. to heal for the dermarolling session, I've got another batch of acne to deal with. 😫 But dermarolling gives me much better results overall so I'm definitely on the bandwagon.
The Banisher 2.0, a dermastamping tool that can be used at home, is also a good option. My husband is using it for yrs now and so far, skin looks better than ever
I have had acne scars removed with pigmentation laser. Went in for freckles, and they blasted the acne marks, too. They came off in one go. I think if the marks are old and brown laser works. 🤔 At least from personal experience.

Can I get a chemical peel for my back? I have backne and it's my biggest insecurity about my skin. I wish there's a way to remove all those scars and hyperpigmentation on my back.
Dr Youn, how do you lighten surgical scars? I recently gone through skin flap from my forearm to my hand and it left a long scar from my elbow all the way down to the knuckles of my hand. What should I do?
I religiously used Mederma scar cream/gel I put it on 3 times a day for months and slowly the scar lightened (so did the skin around the scar) once I felt that the area with the scar was pretty even I stopped using it. It took a while but the scar isn’t even noticeable. It was a scar on my arm from being badly burned by the tip of a torch. My skin had slid off my arm so the scaring was very bad, but now it’s completely gone!
I had a TCA peel done in 1994 My dermatologist sent me two plastic surgeon in my town. I had gotten a case of severe cystic acne that I got after an ovarian cyst ruptured during surgery. After a month and a half the plastic surgeon suggested I have a second TCA peel. My husband was against it because he said you don't burn on top of a burn. I thought the doctor knew more than my husband. Boy was I wrong. I had a couple of places on my face that took months to heal because they were burned more deeply than other parts of my face. Anyways, the second peel left my skin after it healed with a lot of little red squiggly type lines. It did help with the acne scars (It did not totally get rid of them) but now 30 years later the scars are showing up. again
I had BioRePeel with micro-needling that seems similar to this. Had 3 of them and didn’t see much results. Now I’m going for lighter treatments (microbione spectrum, hydrating and calming ones) and I see better results. Especially with the microbiome spectrum it was actually the first treatment that worked to shrink my pores!
I had one CO2RE treatment hoping it would reduce my acne scars but was disappointed in my results. The treatment did brighten my skin by reducing sun damage but that's about it which is unfortunate for the hefty price & level of pain from that procedure! Additional treatments may improve things a bit more....I'm not sure I could handle the pain again...and the cost...ugh!
Near infrared and red light both heal ice pick acne scars. I saw it in my partner who underwent treatment on a Thor bed for another reason. It was amazing the effect on his skin and he's 63 now.

Trust me this is the best way to go for ice pick scars.
We also use acetone in woodwork. By applicating it to wood the wood will drink the acetone and will reveal glue stains and to some extent a bad sanding.
It evaporates very fast but i heard it also affects the finishing if you use wipe stain but i always used oil its easier.
We used acetone for school project mostly. Proffesionnaly i never seen it anywhere
I do wonder if there are treatments to help make acne scars less visible?
Thank you for mentioning that these have salycilic acid, I'm VERY allergic
Are there any risks to chemical peels? You talked about risk of complications and scarring for the very deepest peels, and that you don't perform those because of that. But are there any risks for the other kinds of chemical peels, besides scarring if you pull on the peeling skin?
Do they work on wrinkles
Would this be a good option for someone who suffers from rosacea?
You need to create a treatment that really works lol!❤ I get my first Secret RF treatment today. I’m sick of my face this has been a lifelong battle.
I’ve gotten the perfect derma peel twice and it’s amazing I highly recommend!!!!
Acetone is also the most recognised type of nail polish remover.
I should have done this over Covid… wasn’t going anywhere… wasn’t seeing anyone… that was the perfect time.
Michael Jackson had that skin disorder where the skin cells lose pigmentation. He was dark skinned and first developed the white skin on his hands, and later his face. I don’t know if he lost all pigments in his skin all over his body, but I had to do some research on him once and that’s what I learned 🙈
Curious how often you wait between peels?
I had a milia under 1 eye, I place a drop of Differen on it overnight and it helped. The next night I placed a drop of Ordinary SA liquid on it. The next morning, the milia disappeared. 😂😊
What about the phenol peel? Would it not help with ice pick scars? Saw your other reaction video, was floored by the results! *still watching...maybe you mention this, later*
It's very dangerous and not allowed in many countries. Do everything but not phenol peel, it definitely kill your skin pigment forever and can also kill you.
Phenol peels are serious stuff. Not something I recommend I’m general
@@DoctorYoun Thanks, Doc! I heard you say as much in the video...and while it initially piqued my interest, the heart arrhythmias scared me enough to make it a no! Also, as a Black woman with oily skin, the potential permanent damage to pigment and any disruption to my skin's production of natural oils, is a no for me! Just wandered why something that powerful wouldn't work on ice pick scars.
What would you recommend for acne scarred skin?
I know I wouldn't be able to resist peeling off the skin. 😬
I am going to save up to buy Youn Beauty . I deserve it and I definitely need it ! I trust what you say and the all natural yes please
I wish Dr. Young would do a video about Lazer hair removal and an epilator for hair removal. What would be better for at home hair removal. I'm tired of pulling my beard out with tweezers-
Sorry about the name. My phone did it not me-
Dr. What are your thoughts on stem cell skin treatment (with AAPE) for acne scars?
I do TCA peels, 20%, at home each month. I don’t do the entire face since I can’t hide out for the dramatic peel phase. I just do sections each time. Then the peeling isn’t so obvious to others. It’s easy and affordable. The TCA comes from Platinum skincare online. I highly recommend.
I understand vaping is bad but what about live resin dab pens or carts Weed in general
As an esti of 14 years. I've used this peel since 2014 and I LOVE IT more than any other peel as far as the medium to strong peels with longer downtime. The way it sheds in sheets instead of little annoying micropeeling is just **chefs kiss**. I could go on forever about this peel.❤😍 I've actually been hunting for a supervising physician to sign off on my purchasing of it for my spa cottage. 😉😂😊
No good.
Dr. Youn I have Lupus would this treatment be ok for my skin?
I do it and I love it, I have to walk for street peeling but I look 10 years younger
Ya ! I use dermaroller and a dermastamp too ...amazing results ❤
I’ve just started watching your channel. Those little clips you insert in the video 😂😂 I laugh so hard 😂
I am a surgeon! I am a surgeon! I am... I am a surgeon! I AM A SURGEON, DR. YOUN!
My son said he wants your product so he can glow in the dark. I asked if I should glow in the dark too. He said yes.
I have had acne scars removed with pigmentation laser. Went in for freckles, and they blasted the acne marks, too. They came off in one go. I think if the marks are old and brown laser works. 🤔 At least from personal experience.
My question, can you get a chemical peel when you have atopic eczema?
Doc is it safe to do chemical peel on dark areas like underarm?? And inner thighs??
Can it be done on dark skin like mine?
@Doctor Youn can gluthation be used to lighten just the dark circles under the eyes?
I Love peels the process is harsh but it's soo worth the results
excuse me Dr. Youn my face gets oily at times and when i wash my face with soap my face skin is smooth for awhile and my mom said that having a oily face keeps me young is this true i’ve been wondering about it for along time now all these years too thank you for listening me and everyone’s comments and thank you Dr.Youn & Doctor Mike for teaching us all these things i love your guy’s videos i’ve started watching you guy’s since 2020 - 2023
Can I get a chemical peel for my back? I have backne and it's my biggest insecurity about my skin. I wish there's a way to remove all those scars and hyperpigmentation on my back.
11:45 - you had me at Zombie Flesh Eaters, Doctor Youn!
Microneedling could lessen acne scars
Acetone? If it’s strong enough to remove vail polish, I’m not putting it on my face.
Alcohol is strong enough to remove it as well, still people are using it for skin desinfection.
@@sweet_cha0s nah thanks. I’ll pass
Please help what treatment to do a better tx. for Acne Scaring on face, help Doctor, can you ?
Dr Youn, how do you lighten surgical scars? I recently gone through skin flap from my forearm to my hand and it left a long scar from my elbow all the way down to the knuckles of my hand. What should I do?
Start with silicone based scar creams and massage. Talk with your surgeon ❤❤
What is scarring after chemical peel?
I live in Singapore! Can you please make younbeauty available to us? Please ship outside of USA. We want to feel pretty too! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Dr do you do prolapse surgery?
Love you Dr. Youn.
How do you get red veins of my face. Surgery procedure?
What do you think of TCA Cross for icepick and acne scarring? I'm no doctor, but do you think that might be more effective for a patient like Caroline?
I’m not allowed to have these, since I’m autoimmune and my skin peels itself for fun. 😢 all I can use is Aveeno moisturizer
For someone with rosacea what kind of peel would you recommend?
Sulfur cream to kill the bugs that cause it.
I’m too scared of a chemical peel
