I somewhat can. I use a topical medication that essentially does the same thing expect on a smaller scale. It gets rid of acne, but it doesn't really help with pigmentation.
I am a dermatologist practicing in Bangalore. Chemical peels are the commonest procedure done in our office. The peel done here is a medium depth peel with probably a very low pH (very acidic). Such peels cannot be done in Indian skin or people with colour and can in fact worsen hyperpigmentation. The most peeling we see is with retinol based peels or retinol based sealing agents. Newer products give great results without the visible peeling shown here. It costs a fraction of what the lady here paid and we use high quality peels imported from France, Spain and USA. One session of a peel for the face would cost around 50$ for the face and upto 100$ for large areas like the back and arms. Peels are a blessing to patients who suffer from severe acne and post acne scarring and hyperpigmentation!
It's so difficult to find appropriate post peel care in India. Moisturizers just don't seem to agree with my skin, and i can feel my skin warming up after application. Even on a daily basis and not just as post peel care. I've never had a doctor recommend a calming moisturizer. Only the greasy warming ones 😭

Yeah, but the point of the review is, like the commenter above me said, to share the experience. She went through the treatment with a few noticeable scars so she could review whether or not the treatment worked. As it turns out, it was pretty helpful, because even with the small amount of scars she had the peel didn’t really make them less noticeable. Now others might think twice before trying something like this themselves.
“it’s not even that bad” 1. It’s on camera, off it won’t look as bad. 2. It’s her insecurity, if this makes her feel better then leave her be. Don’t put her down.
the fact that her scars were considered bad makes me wonder what level my scars would be, because holy shit hers were nothing edit: this is an old comment, i realize it's insensitive now. you don't have to keep replying
I think your skin looked remarkably better after your skin peeled, especially for one treatment. Skin looks smoother and pores less visible. I'd do a peel for a smoother, brighter complextion. You look great!
You're so right! One time I went skiing without sunscreen and my whole face burned and peeled. I got the most compliments I've ever had for my skin! Edit: It was not nice and I wouldn't do it again. I had to use an antibiotic cream to heal my raw pink face.
except with a sunburn your skin is peeling from sun damage. I hope no one uses the sun as a way to get a cheap peel because the sun is way more damaging and will prematurely age your skin. The chemical peel is only suppose to peel off the top layer of your skin. The sun damages deeper layers of your skin and it can lead to skin cancer.
It's for the snowflakes. The ones that sat on an r18 video and complained they can see blood splatter or some bs and claim compensation cause they got mentally scarred. Our generation is sad.
In my country dermatologists don’t approve this treatment cause they say it has damaging effects on your skin in long term. It makes the layers of your face more sensible to UV lights. You can see good effects in short time but you can damage your skin in long term. I’m afraid I have to say there is no miracle in skin-care. Skin-care is a consisting treatment that you should follow during all your life. Always be kind to your skin and avoid harsh products or treatment guys. Clean your face with a gentle cleanser, avoid heavy make-up (like foundation etc), moisture your skin and use a good sun protector (and re-apply every 2-3 hours regardless of the season) every single day. Most importantly love yourself and give your skin some time to heal itself. 😘
Maybe it's true, it all depends on the post peel care, usually if you wanna get a peel, you should stay home and shield your self from the sun, unlike the person on the video, she didn't even wear a hat

isalovi people 50 years ago never had the education and technology we had. There’s nothing dangerous in typical peels. Enzymes and glycolic acid peels are packed with natural ingredients and the acids come from fruits or milk. Thats not dangerous. What IS dangerous, is not holding oneself accountable and asking about ingredients or looking them up themselves. Peels are completely safe if you go to a reputable doctors office. The acetone and dawn soap used to clean your face before hand for a peel this deep, is to strip/dry out and prep the skin.

Your results are fabulous. I've been considering getting a peel for hyperpigmentation and fine lines, but it's scary so I keep chickening out.
As a chemist, the thought of putting pure acetone on your face pains me. It won't horrifically harm your skin but it is an irritant and will really dry your skin out (possibly cause redness and soreness too) and the thought of an irritant on sensitive skin in particular 😖😖😖we use it to clean all sorts of nasty chemicals off equipment/ surfaces in labs and once you see that it can basically obliterate so many nasty chemicals, the thought of pure acetone on your face just makes me cringe
I'm only a skincare enthusiast but how red her skin was :( it pained me and and how the solution was put on her skin looked aggressive, causing more irritation and her skin already looked irritated 😳
Right! I'm a development chemist and we use acetone to clean our surfaces in the lab. Well acetone, ethanol, and toluene. It's crazy though when you think of how many people put it on their skin especially in nail salons.
WasabiLover a coworker did several sessions to help her acne scars and hyper pigmentation (just a little due to a pregnancy years ago) and it did work, her skin now looks smoother and clear. We definitely can tell the difference right away.

I'm doing the once a month for 5 months already. Here in Brazil is a lot cheaper $30 each session, but does not come with the post treatment so we need to buy our own and I feel it's not that intense. Most of them (my esthetician has used different acids already) only itchies once its applies or right after removing it. Does not itch after that. I'm now free from old acne scars. And for the first time in a few years I feel confident to go out without make-up
I've had very bad kind of ice pick scarring much much worse than what this girl has and I've been using derma roller fr the past 11 months and at the beginning I started off with 0.5mm and now I'm at 2mm bcoz I had really deep shallow scars that looked so bad with be skin that was on my forehead 😖. After 11months the left side is 85% healed up bcoz the scarring wasn't as deep . The right cheek still has few large open scars but they r lighter in texture and have reduced by 70% . So by 2 years of treatment pretty much everything shud clear off .

I used to have cystic acne and really bad scarring. I had a chemical peel done in a doctors office in London about 14 years ago by a Consultant Dermatologist. It was done as two treatments - two full cycles of application, full peeling, healing etc. The results were outstanding. My face had once been full of scars and craters and was like brand new. It makes me laugh how this is described as painful - yes it burns and stings but it’s not painful. I will take a guess that you are blessed in life and haven’t experienced true pain, if this is what you class as painful. It’s just a little sore is all. I can’t believe this wasn’t done in a doctors office. America is crazy sometimes. 😅

The quarantine got in the way of my monthly facial treatment so there was a problem with not maintaining it (also a new staff fucked up a bit and I was left with more acne popping up after the last treatment). I want to do it again after I have time and the money, a package of 8 treatment, once a month, it almost cost 1000
How? You can’t change your pore size by peeling the outermost layer of your skin off. Her skin looked worse than it was before, which is normal, because they severely harmed it. Her scars were more pronounced, she had more hyperpigmentation, and they filmed her from farther away than they did it for the “before” so you wouldn’t be able to see the unaffected pores :)
Bertie Boo pup Not really. If your pores are visible, they’ll remain visible. Getting out the congestion will make them appear less dirty, but you don’t need to harm your skin this much to clean out the pores.
yellowleaf You think. Next time, learn. If the pores are enlarged because of whatever factor, if you eliminate that factor, they will go back to their natural size. Naturally enlarged pores cannot be manipulated into shrinking, no matter what you do. Pore visibility is also determined, and cannot be changed.
This is a scar treatment and I don't think you have scars on all body parts. Even if, scar treatments will be totally different for the rest of your body because it's not the same type of skin.

@Erin Mcsweeney your body 'mechanism' where you get a lot of pigment in one area of skin, more than the others, causing it to visibly darken. My brother had this on his neck.
Why are people complaining that her 'acne scars aren't even that bad??' I'm just glad she actually went to get the treatment and gave an honest review, now we know that the treatment isn't really worth it
“Use someone with REAL acne” Damn y’all act like this is a treatment FOR severe acne smh...... this is treatment for SCARS. To fill in spaces in your cheeks and face. I thought y’all already knew there’s no real “cure” for cystic acne..
@f I never said that she didn't have any. I just wrote that a lot of people commenting "use someone with real acne" most likely meant the scars rather than the actual acne itself.
There is a cure for cystic acne: isotretinoin. I had cystic acne throughout my teenage years (inherited it from my dad who’s had it his whole life) and isotretinoin is the only thing that works - however it works WELL. Definitely recommend it to everyone who feels as affected by their acne as I did
Peels can be a great boost - but you can also get peels that don't require downtime and see wonderful results. As an Esthetician, I find that guiding clients on what to use at home is a much more effective way to deal with scarring/pigmentation. Other in office treatments like Microdermabrasion and NanoFusion are AMAZING for scars and have ZERO downtime.

except with a sunburn your skin is peeling from sun damage. I hope no one uses the sun as a way to get a cheap peel because the sun is way more damaging and will prematurely age your skin. The chemical peel is only suppose to peel off the top layer of your skin. The sun damages deeper layers of your skin and it can lead to skin cancer.
Only difference being this one won’t cause hyper pigmentation and cancer lol.

Completely agree and some people dont understand this
Are you saying putting a product on your skin to forcefully burn a dermal layer off is bad????????
Maybe it's true, it all depends on the post peel care, usually if you wanna get a peel, you should stay home and shield your self from the sun, unlike the person on the video, she didn't even wear a hat

Why?
isalovi people 50 years ago never had the education and technology we had.
