Hi Katarina! I am a speech-language pathologist and professional singer, and have a Ph.D. in Voice Science and two master's degrees (one in vocal performance and one in speech-language pathology). I use your videos as supplemental resources for my patients and/or occasionally voice students (singers) who have voice disorders. Thank you for creating and sharing them. :-)
Hi Christine! Very nice to meet you (virtually). I am very happy to hear that my videos are useful to you and your students and clients. Let me know if you have any questions.
Katerina! Thanks a lot for your videos ❤️as a classical singer, whenever I confront vocal issues and they seem insolvable, I refer to your helping videos and I always end up with the solution 🥰💕 thanks a lot again ❤
Hi Katarina, your videos are great! Thank you. I often feel tension when speaking. But the main discomfort I feel somewhere on the transition between soft and hard palate. I feel it when speaking or after speaking. Do you have any advice?
I am not sure ... but I suggest that you play around with some gentle sounds (SOVTs) and see if you can produce sounds without that feeling of discomfort. Then, you can take it from there to a speaking voice.
Hi i hope this comment finds you well , i am suffering from hoarness since 20 days after a lot of medication still no benefit. I will be very glad if you consult me
If you are experiencing hoarseness of voice, I suggest that you have your voice evaluated by a laryngologist. They will suggest appropriate solutions for your specific problem.
Hi ma'am I have 6 months past suffering vocal nodules in my left vocal cords as per suggested by ENT specialist, I am doing vocal exercises from last one month under the guidance of speech therapist but still not recovered fully. My problem was during season change my voice changes and gradually increaaes hoarsness. Now feeling slightly stucking in rhroat also. Kindly suggest me how it can be improved asap in better way.
There is no one exercise to solve vocal nodules. It may take some time and it is important to be consistent in your efforts. For vocal nodules, the most important part is to decrease vocal effort and time of voice use to give your voice a chance to heal. Then, learn how to use your voice in a more sustainable way. There are a lot of exercises for this. Most used are so called SOVT exercises (you can google them) and resonance exercises (like hum). If you have any concerns, speak to your voice therapist so you have realistic expectations.
@@healthyvoicetips Thank you for your valuable advise. Ma'am now I am slightly feeling better and seems it's improving. Accordingly, I will do and act as per your suggestion.
Thank you for watching. Do you have questions about how to lessen voice tension when speaking? Just ask!
