    Perhaps the most remarkable thing about this video is that I used an alternative tuning on the first layer guitar - Godin Multiac Steel SA. I dropped 3rd string to Gb. It was more convenient to play what I was going to play this way.
    Another remark is about composition itself. Usually I build an order of layers first that form a basis for later melodic playing. This time the second layer was the melody and only after that I added a couple of pads to make the overall sound fatter. Since the composition was meant to be short (4 minutes) I thought it would be nice to introduce the melody first so that it went through the whole composition. The listener gets familiar with it after it is played 2 or 3 times and doesn’t get tired of it for the composition is short.
    This time I used nearly all 30 seconds for the loop that Strymon TimeLine lets you possibly play.
    My gear and software:
    Godin Multiac Steel SA
    Godin Multiac ACS Nylon SA
    Fishman Aura Spectrum DI
    Roland VG-99
    Strymon TimeLine
    Strymon BigSky
    Lexicon Omega
    Sony Vaio
    Cubase 5
    Thanks for watching!

    Just discovered your music. Wow brother inspiring... I'm a senior gent bought an electric and fender amp and since I know less than than zip about chords I have been able to get some wicked loops just by experimenting with ambient tones playing real slow... puts you in a place just short of heaven. Love your sounds brother.

    I have a VG-88 and i am a full on Vguitarist,yes they are that good i do not use standard pickups or amps with all their flaws and limitations and i can play anything from classical to death metal... it can cover them all and do them all very very well even in superior way.... and of course other worldy blends and new as yet undiscovered sounds,i can copy any tone or sound i hear. I am surprised in this day and age that traditional amps and guitars even survive and are the norm... more and more should become v guitarists and create new and exciting music with this kind of thing.

      William Dechant well ... in my opinion, digital and analog goes well along with each other - there fields where they compete, but still they are different... nothing can give a feel of an good acoustic instrument, but it will never do what digital technologies do... it's like a paper book and an ipad - I like rwading paper books, but often choose more convinient, digital way... I'm absolutely not a fan of any of these sides - analog vs digital - they all good and complement each other

    Dropping G string a half step is a technique I first encountered at University when studying early Spanish classical guitar music...very nice sound

    I really like your style. I use a nylon string with the big sky, it almost seemed to be too many options and I kind of want to step down to the blue sky. But after hearing the Timeline, Im wishing I had started with that. 30 seconds is all the looping I need. Beautiful sound. Thanks for sharing

    I use a Moore aby switch, makes for quick instrument changes without plugging jacks

    • @MikhailMedvedev
      @MikhailMedvedev  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      well, yes.. there is a number of different switches and splitters... but I often use 13-pin jacks alone with 1/4 jacks and that makes the situation a bit more complicated... I know that there are ways to make all things easier ), but prefer to spend money on boxes I need more at the moment... another reason is that I switch my guitars often only when soundscaping... and it means I can do it in a relaxed manner)

    Very nice music, beautifully played. Pardon my ignorance, but are all the layers and loops recorded with the timeline ?

    • @MikhailMedvedev
      @MikhailMedvedev  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Yes, you are right, all the layers were recorded with Strymon Timeline looper that let you recoed smth about 30 seconds -the only challenge for you is to fit in the time limit)

    Great videos! I am learning so much from you. I have same guitars as you - Godin nylon and steel. What kind of volume pedal do you use? can you recommend one?

    • @MikhailMedvedev
      @MikhailMedvedev  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Personly I use Roland EV-5 - this is not a volume pedal - this is a control pedal switched to VG-99. It's OK if you play with a processor, but you will need a volume pedal in most cases to play ambient with stomp boxes where control pedal cannot be plugged in. I'm not 100% satisfied with EV-5. It is not fluent in the meaning of volume control and sometimes cracles. Maybe it's because it is pretty old) I never used optical pedals like Morley but they are known to be very good... So if the volume pedal is what you are looking and you are not tight in budget - Morley is the answer)

    Привет Михаил. Крутейший канал и музыка. Когда я експреминтриую с похожими звуками, моя женя говорит что это за кошка там воет.
    Ты использывал Strymon Timeline как looper?

    • @MikhailMedvedev
      @MikhailMedvedev  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Спасибо! Да, я иногда его использую в режиме лупера. В отличие от остальных луперов он бесшовный, т.е. нет "дырки" в месте склейки петель. Но плата за это максимум пол минуты времени записи.. ну или около того...

    I was wondering if you think big sky is the best purchase for a reverb pedal? So many, I seriously cannot make a decision.

    • @MikhailMedvedev
      @MikhailMedvedev  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +DelScully it's always a matter of taste, you know)... but Strymon are definitely one of the best on the market today... the sound quality of their devices will be more than enough for many many year, so it's a good choice)) #strymon

      +MrScarysbro she's at friends now, feeling very comfortable... My son turned out to ba allergic on cats + I moved to another city for a year or two and couldn't take her (the Cat) with me. She is OK there. I think even better than with me - they give her more attention and spend more time at home)... SO I feel calm about that...
