  • Thailand’s biggest election winner, the Move Forward Party, has been sidelined. Court challenges threaten the eligibility of its leader Pita Limjaroenrat.
After rounds of voting, parliament has yet to pick a Prime Minister. Meanwhile, the eight party pro-democracy coalition is severely tested, with conservatives blocking their moves. Protestors rally in support of Pita and his alliance, even as lawmakers disagree over Lèse-majesté laws and political reform.
In this forum special, Insight examines how the political turmoil will affect Thailand.

Your Mr. Pita is a CIA operative charged with destroying your country and making you suffer….
Do yourself a favor by doing your own research instead of falling for Western propaganda. Yes, they’ve been buying media outlets in Thailand for years to capture people who fall for propaganda and cheap information.
Look around you and see how many countries they have destroyed by installing traitorous governments loyal only to them with the help of their media and often armed bandits.
The difference now is that the world has increasingly recognized what they are up to and is stopping it, such as your senate booting out Thailand’s latest upstart or Africa’s Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger deposing the pro western governments usurping the wealth of the land….

Our ignorance makes us easily manipulatable by predatory forces such as the western governments in our midst who have for long wreaked havoc on practically everybody else….
All because we and many others around the world have put it in to our collective heads that change for the better will come to us from someone or something out there….
A complacency and laziness that makes us a danger to ourselves and others….
If we want change, then each of us individually should change what needs changing in ourselves, and the rest will take care of itself….
Why this concept is lost on so many of us here in Thailand is puzzling as it is the very essence of Buddhism….
So, let us wake up and help ourselves, starting by cultivating the highest ethics and taking responsibility for our own knowledge….
To that end, we must read, read, read, and read some more widely and deeply for a handle on truth and reality, not forgetting Scripture and uplifting literature as well….
For only then will we arrive at a certainty that enables us to do the right thing….

He gives hope of democracy to the people. And to say some clear words about this so called new king. In my point of view, there is no king anymore. Bhumipon Adunjadet was the last king of Thailand. He was a Dhammaradscha, a good educated person to be called a king. Bhumipon Adunjadet was for a long time the only democratic constant of Thailand. And this is a great compliment to a king. The new person, who someone may believes he is a king, he is not in anyway educated. He is a failed king. You can't insult him because he himself is an insult to the country and its people.

Now, from all of my sources, as far as I could, read, senators were chosen by the NCPO or at least the majority of them, you could say that not all of them are but the majority that makes up the Senate is essentially under the control of the military. (it is most certainly not a democratic institution as claimed by Thailand)
I could assure you that if you were in the military and you get to a higher enough position, you’re almost guaranteed to get a seat in the Senate.

To become prime minister, a candidate needs 376 votes - more than half of the legislature. If no one reaches that threshold, another vote will be scheduled. The same candidates can be put forward again or new ones can be nominated and the process is repeated until one candidate gets 376 votes. There is no time limit.
