Nice thing about this, is if you want to you can make a larger pot of broth, and up to 50 Won Tons and freeze. Don't freeze together. Place the uncooked Won Tons in a container lined with Baking or Freezer Paper, put down a layer, cover with freezer wrapper put down another layer etc, seal and freeze, they freeze for a long time. Put your broth in sealed containers and freeze - take out defrost the broth (not the Won Tons) and bring to boil and then slip Won Tons into broth :)

This has been my go to soup recipe. Made it again 2 weeks ago but ended up with some leftover wrapped wontons. Since the pot wasn't big enough to cook all of them, I decided to freeze the remainder. I got really sick yesterday & was craving for some. The frozen wontons came through. Soup tasted just as amazing as the day the were wrapped. Best part is the time saver. Never know when you will be sick so make them in advance is always a good idea.
I LOVED your video! When I was little my dad used to bring us to a local Cantonese restaurant owned by a brand new immigrant family in Mexico. Among other things, we always asked for the "ravioli" soup, LOL. It was my super mega favorite meal. I looked forward to the weekend every day for our dad to take us to eat at this restaurant. It wasn't until I immigrated to Canada that I learned that I had not been eating ravioli soup all those years, but wonton soup! This soup brings me so many dear memories of my childhood. I finally know now how to make it at home. Thank you for sharing.

This was my first won ton soup, it was really good! I overdid the ginger a bit. Got the wonton in the frozen section of local asian market. Pork tenderloin from Trader Joe's and minced it with my ninja maker. Sealed wonton with egg,not water. .. and they are done when the pork reads 160 degrees. I think I might add some oven cooked pork Julianne slices and bokchoy, and salt. Better than Bullion chix base was ised. Yum!

Great recipe, especially the broth. I made two batches, one with sesame oil and one without. I didn't have any rice wine or sherry on hand, so I left that out all together. Personally I didn't care for the sesame oil at all - very overpowering, even at 1/4 tsp. Definitely take your time making the wontons, otherwise they will tear and/or fall apart while cooking.
I have made this recipe many times. It is wonderful and very easy to make at home. Since I'm a single person, I can't eat the large amount you recommend at one time, so I use about a pound of ground pork or chicken (fresh, not previously frozen) and make all the wontons in 1 package (about 55) and freeze them on a couple of baking sheets covered with parchment paper so they won't stick to the sheet. When they are frozen (2-3 hours), I put them in a freezer bag. Then, when I want to serve, I make the soup broth and cook 4-6 wontons per person. Again, because I usually serve only a couple of bowls of soup at a time, I freeze the broth in serving portions and thaw out what I need when I need it. To each soup bowl and before I add in the cooked and hot wontons and broth, I add some raw veggies ... Napa cabbage, grated carrot and zucchini and green onions or whatever I have in the fridge. Pour the wontons and broth over the raw veggies and serve. This way I can serve 1 bowl or as many as I need. But I'm using your recipe for the wontons and broth. Thank you for passing along This recipe. Easy, delicious soup, and with my preparation modifications I make, I can have it any time I want it.

I have made this twice. This is way better than even a restaurant. I switched it up and used the whole liter of chicken stock. I replaced the chicken stock for the water. It stays down due to the ginger. If you don't want to go to the trouble of making the soup just add some ginger to regular chicken soup
