Yaaassss finally!!!!! I was waiting for this for so long ❤️💫💫💫
I... was not expecting to see a Telugu film or any Indian film ever on this channel. It's great seeing what Ryan makes of it
Same!
Is this the moment and movie that finally bridges the gap between Indian cinema and Western audiences? As Drinker noted, Hollywood simply isn’t putting out good movies anymore, and worse still creates productions in bad faith steeped in agenda that makes good storytelling impossible. Ever since I saw the horse-slide I’ve been waiting for a crossover hit to emerge.
It's also been on Critical Drinker and Honest Trailers.
And Danny Devito wants the gang to bust into a big Bollywood style song and dance on an episode next season. This movie is getting some serious attention.
This movie was pretty entertaining. Didn’t make it all the way through at 3+ hours, but a lot of the action scenes were very original
After the Squid Game episode I had a little hope that non American movies and shows can also be shown. Turns out my assumption was right.

This is probably the first pitch meeting I've ever seen that actually effectively worked as advertisement for a movie because now I HAVE to see this!!
Nah. The promotion on this movie on release was pretty impressive. This was Bollywood's biggest and expensive action movie they ever made. Apparently, everyone in it is an A lister over there.

@@Satya.Online Right... But for comparison, the standard Battleaxe, and I'm talking about weapons for warfare, hardly exeeded 7lb. weight (3kg really, for normal people).
A greatsword, not really common due to it's hard-to manage nature, cost and uneffectiveness, wouldn't get to the 10lb range (maybe a german Zweihänder), and even then, they would be well balanced for wielding.
A standard polearm wouldn't get that heavy, though the weight distribution would make it pretty taxing. Only after repeated use, of course.
To begin with, you would need to weigh like a truck to swing around a 130lb bike, otherwise you would just fly off balance and fall over, no matter how heavy you are. And it's not well balanced in the slightest. Heck, it would be about as hard as to swing around a fully grown man in much the same manner...
The heaviest weapon effectively wielded by the strongest human in history probably wouldn't weigh a tenth of that thing. I would like to see someone swing around a normal bike like it was a maul
Maybe you could spin with it, and it's certainly plausible one would be able to throw it a bit, but you know...
Hollywood blockbusters and action movies seldom make any realistic combat, and they *try* to hide it and pretend, movies like these throw such things out of the window. For me because its intentions are entirely earnest. Despite how rediculous it gets it's totally without Hollywood - tropes, cynicism and politics - which is so refreshing. It does include many Indian film tropes though and the theme of a strong man getting brought low then fighting back to triumph is common. All that aside, yeh throwing a leopard at someone was cool.

good point.
Because Raju worked as police officer in the barracks..So he is aware of intricate details of the building where everything is stored..
Actually he explains why he does pullups in the jail,it is situated at the front of the palace and he sees them unload the gunpowder there,so he does pull ups to look at palace while not being too obvious, atleast he isn't stupid enough to workout on one meal per week 🤣
@@Raghu155_ I think that scene is just to show that he is still motivated to take the weapons. He keeps looking at the building and he keeps training cause he is still focused on his task and hasn't given up, not cause he's scouting. At least that's what I got from that
But, why place large quantity of TNT on an obvious Administrative building with glass windows and fancy facade. Ammo Storage facilities even at the 18th century much less in the 20th are big bunker type and far away from personnel buildings.
Anyway. TNT don’t go Boom by throwing something burning, they’ll just burn. You need a Detonator attached to an Explosive Booster that is attached to the TNT for it to explode.

Although I’m not Indian, I’ve been watching Bollywood (& Telegu) movies since I was a kid…the lack of physics is primarily why I have always adored them…that & the implausible & romantic love stories! Epic stuff! Love that there’s a screen rant for one now! I feel like this is a WHOLE new genre to discover!

It just makes sense.
frankly, most movies like this try to stay on the border between realism and ridiculousness, and that tends to ruin everything
but in this movie, ridiculous stunts and action scenes weren't avoided, they were embraced to their absolute limits, creating a movie I was very surprised I liked so much
I guess that's how fast & the furious became a big hit
I mean, if you are doing something incredibly cool with it, ridiculousness is allowed then, it just adds to the charm of it. If you are not doing something cool with it, then it just looks stupid; RRR reallynsidestepped that pothole.
A lot of Indian movies go beyond ridiculousness and believability. RRR was tuned down A LOT compared to other Indian action flicks. I think it is passed exactly the right amount into the lands of ridiculousness, but not so far, that you would just bang your head about how stupid it is.
that's how Bollywood movies work, yes
5:07 "I know how leaves work." 😂 I love how sometime producer guy questions the insanity and sometimes he on the same page.
This movie has blown up so much it's crazy. Since I saw this in theaters on opening day when no one knew what it was it reminds me of my ten year old self seeing Star Wars in 1977 on opening night when no one knew what it was either.
Wow what a experience it would be!
often i see the pitch meetings and i think "i'm glad i didn't waste time watching that", but this time it actually makes me wanna watch the movie.
It's worth it, really. Even you can sense from this Pitch Meeting that Ryan thinks positively of the movie.
People are throwing leopard..must watch 😂😂😂
This movie is a must watch! Don't get bogged down by the 3 hour run time cos it is totally worth every second. Watch it on the biggest screen possible.
it's better to shoot ur brains out .... believe me!
I can't sit through long movies and usually finish them in 2-3 days, but this movie, I finished it in a single sitting. Watched it the second time. And loved it even more. Then the third time. And I'm hella obsessed.
I’m appreciative of the fact that he correctly said Tollywood and not just lumping it all into Bollywood
Oh! I thought I'd misheard.
One of the few times Pitch Meeting makes me want to watch a movie because holy shit this sounds incredible.
"man throwing leopard at another man" is what caught the foreign people's eye and made it trend globally but the conviction & sincerity of filmmakers actors is what made RRR a true global hit
nah bruh its just the crazy shit
no it was because of the leopard
Was it a global hit i guess it was just not popular in Europe? It's the first pitch meeting that is on a movie i have never heard about, this movie wasn't available in my country at all

I watched RRR after watching the pitch meeting. It definitely exceeded my expectations.
Wow... I had no idea i wanted to see this movie. Now, it's what I want the most in the world!- Ryan! You Rock sir.
RRR is so unbelievable that ryan has to put snippets of that scene happening to reconfirm that they did happen. This is the first time i seen a pitch meeting doing it. Also, RRR is first a working title with the names of the three leads, Ram charan, Rama Rao and Rajamouli(Director). The name became so popular that they did not want to change that and just made a title around it
Actually the lead name expansion became a 'backronym' . Originally it was called 'Ranam, Raudram, Rudiram' (War, Valor, Gore)....Telugu words (Sanskrit roots). Even though it rolls off the tongues of Telugu speaking people, they felt it would be hard for the North Indians (who have speak Hindi a hotch-potch of Arabi-Persian-Sanskrit derived words). So, while looking for an alternative name they 'joked' that it stood for the names of the actors/director. Eventually they chose 'Rise, Roar, Revolt)...to attract non-Indian audiences too.

Saw RRR couple months back(I think?) on Netflix with husband and (since I’d missed a chunk of the beginning) I kept saying to my husband there’s no way that Raju is a bad guy because he’s too good looking 😂. Even though my husband kept telling me Raju is with the British guys I was in total denial because he was too handsome and charming to be a villain. And then I was right! Ha!
A psychopath caught in 1970s I think was also too good looking. People kept on saying he can't be a killer. Then he confessed. 😬
He was so handsome it was almost distracting. woof.
Well, you enjoyed the movie.
Hahaha 😄
Well, u do know ted Bundy right? Super charming and good looking. Turns out he was a serial killer murdering girls. Even in jail he received lots of love letters. It's very messed up, but perception on the basis of looks is huge, that's why murderers and r*pists are always shown to be ugly in movies

I appreciated how they managed to keep the British colonialists as understated and nuanced villains.
Lol.
that made me chuckle 😂😂
Thanks. That actually made me laugh.
the more u know:
not in india but
in Bangladesh,
"British" is a slang/slur.
example:
"that guy is such a 'British' "
"what a fking 'British' "
for centuries "british" has been used here as a slang worse than "bast^rd" .
the east india company even caused a famine in the 1770 which was blamed on weather, despite the farmers having super fertile land, self sufficient in agricultural resources, the colonialists forced the farmer to not grow rice/food/edible crops but to grow some sort of weed thing that makes "liquid bleach" or something for washing clothes cuz priducing that was more profitable, which just cost the d^ath of 1/3 of people in Bengal. there were no shortage if fertile land, no shortage of seeds, no shortage of farmers and fuktons of rivers everywhere and yet people were starving and faced a famine. thats comically evil
dont worry tho, Bangladeshi ppl are the least xenophobic (unlike certain other nation that makes anime😉)and incredibly friendly and helpful towards foreigners cuz they are kinda wholesome and probably d^mb af.
At least Mel Gibson wasn't involved. And they at least had some decent dance numbers.

R - Ramcharan
Since it was good, they just kept the title and changed the acronym to Rise Roar Revolt and all the languages it released with the words with same meaning and starting with sound of R.

This movie worked because even though it was over the top, fictional movie and story, the struggle of Independence was real. The history is real and that's why it all makes sense, even though it shouldn't. This plays out well with our emotions, especially the last scene, when the blood was spilled over the crown logo, that scene brought a lot of emotions
