I am adiscalced Carmelite Secular I made my promise in May 2013 . I’m 90yrs old and attend meetings any longer I’m still praying and my living my promise, but you are right about how important the meeting s are I miss my community and sometimes feel isolated. Found you by the grace of God on You tube . Now I am connected. Thanks for your teaching I am always searching for direction to know and love Jesus and Mary more ever. God bless you and keep you well
I have been OCDS for 43 years in the UK, when I became one we were a few ISOLATED seculars living far from any community, but travelling up to 1 1/2 hours to a venue that suited most once a month where an ODC father travelled to from London for the day. There are now not enough fathers to do this. I was one year as a postulant in Carmel before this but did not have the health required to continue in enclosure. The new Constitutions make it difficult for any new OCDS’s if they do not live near a Carmelite community, especially in largely protestant countries where Catholics are few and far between, and distances are great. I think there might be many lay people who would like to live according to the Discalced Secular rule, but are barred from being members because ISOLATED ones are not now permitted.
Thank you dor your comments and observations. What you point out is a challenge to each region of the Order. On this age of zoom, FaceTime, and WA many communities have discovered new ways to be present and news means if communication..
Good evening, Fr. Aloysious! I praise the Holy Spirit for your inspiration of writing essential elements needed by Secular Carmelites. That would be very great and we shall be excited to subscribe to them. God bless and may the Good Lord grant you protection and more years! We love you, dear Father!
Thank you Fr. Deeney Aloysius OCD, looking forward to your conferences on TH-cam. Praise God. Praying for you as you go thru this new medium of teaching us and reaching out to us Secular Carmelites. God bless you more and more 🙏🙏🙏
Dear Fr. Deeney, thank you for these videos. I'm sure they will be very helpful for our community's formation. I look forward to watching these videos.
I myself am a Third Order of the Discalced Carmelites. The priest who started our Chapter with the approval of Rome was a very good priest. He was transferred and a certain woman became the head. It should have been a male. She abandoned us to follow other pursuits. She ended our Chapter but we go on. There were many things about the revised Rule that equaled nothing. I am still seeking to follow the Old Rule using the now-called Traditional Little Office of the BVM. Ours is a rule of Prayer, Contemplation, the praying of the Hours, works of Charity, living a life immersed in God the Creator and the Almighty. A strong devotion to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. and very important, the wearing of Our Lady's Brown Scapular and the praying of the Rosary of Our Lady (all 20 Mysteries). The revised rule has all this but in the "spirit of Vatican ll" Which was harshly condemned by St. John Paul the Great. The unnecessary revised rules are watered down. I prefer to live my Third Order of the Brothers of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel life in the Traditional manner. SUB TUTELA MATER. (Under a Mothers Protection).
Thank you for your comment and explanation of your vocation. I guess that this particular TH-cam channel is not of very much interest to you but you are always welcomed.

What is the difference between the OCD and OCDS in 3rd order?
Please tell me how to join the 3rd order.
Hello Felix. Where do you live?
