What an amazing helpful video. I am so glad that I found you on TH-cam. Thank you. I feel strongly called to the Secular Carmelites but I am 74. Can I still pursue the formation process?
@lesleyjoymcclure1772 Hi Lesley Unfortunately there is an age limit and that is 65. My suggestion would be seeking out church groups that have a study group with the Carmelite charism. I hope this helped. 🙏 Francine
Thank you. Very disappointed though. Longevity is in my family. My father passed at 100 and my mother is still alive at 101. God willing, I still have many years left. I’m assuming there’s nothing preventing me from wearing a blessed scapular though.
@@lesleyjoymcclure1772 Absolutely you can wear the Brown Scapular!!! Heard nothing of the age limit being lifted. Go to the Washington Province, OCDS website. This is a good resource and they will be able to tell you if it has been lifted. God Bless and I hope this helps.
I received a phone call from the Director of Formation in our Diocese and she confirmed that there is no upper age restrictions. I live in Canada though so perhaps different dioceses have their own policy. She said that as Secular Carmelites God is in love with us and we are in love with God. If He is calling someone then we are not to judge due to age but to begin the discernment process with them and it will become clear if they are to be accepted and can begin their formation journey. I thought that was a beautiful and merciful way to put it. It’s good to know though that I can begin wearing the scapular. God bless.
Thank you for videos. I would like to enroll into the Brown Scapular and I have reached out to two churches of Mount Carmel in NYC where I live but they never answered. How can I find information about getting enrolled? I am doing this the wrong way?
@matinabhan6811 Find a OCDS community near you and reach out to them and go to a few meetings. Start Praying to Our Lady for direction. I hope this helps 🙏
Great video! I think I have seen you in church!
