Yes father I have already a copy of the book of welcome to secular order of discalced carmelite, it helps a lot of our formation as secular carmelite, thank you also of your explanation it is a big of help. Thank you so much.
Thank you, Fr Aloysius. Indeed blessed to be refreshed and guided by you, our first General Delegate. Who can be the best person to give the understanding of this book but the author himself 👍🏼 God bless you 🙏🏻
Thank you, Fr. Aloysius, and happy feast day of St. Teresa of Jesus. Your book is helping me to discern whether I have a vocation to Carmel. May God bless you.
It is such a delight to have these you tube videos and be able to be taught by you once again. I will be watching, delighted and thankful to God! You look very well indeed, Father. Thank you for doing this!!
I listened to the video. One thing to clarify is that if divorced you cannot receive Holy Eucharist unless your divorce was annulled. Therefore, to be in line with the Holy Catholic Church, a person "eligible" for secular order, to be able to receive all of the Sacraments, must have marriage annulled.
Generally speaking, according to the CCC, divorce is not permitted; however, sometimes it is necessary. Please review your Catholic Catechism. Divorce and remarriage is NOT permitted in the Church and is a moral sin. Anyone in the state of mortal sin may not receive Holy Communion. Divorce is not the isolated condition.
@@MW-fv7ts You are correct first & foremost no divorce. I was referring to those whose marriage of divorce were deemed dissolved, such as due to abuse, or, mental issues that could harm the other emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually. In those cases, confession is the first step, if they have not made in a long time & may have mortal sin on their soul. I cannot find an answer re: receiving Holy Communion if divorced and remarried with or without an annulment Checked Baltimore Catechism (which didn't allow annulments back then) & the CCC 2nd Ed.2020. Someone told me you could receive as long as you went to confession & didn't have to wait for the annulment to go through.
Ordo Carmelitarum Discalceatorum (OCD) Order of the Discalced Carmelites. The friars (1st order) and nuns (2nd order) use OCD. The ‘S’ in OCDS is for Secular (3rd order) which is made up of the laity and priests who have made their final promise to become an OCDS. If you are asking perhaps what the difference is between OCDS and OCarm.: Subsequent to the reform of St. Teresa of Avila, the family of Carmel became, as it were, two “traditions” of Carmel - each with their First, Second and Third Order components. Those who remained with the original component have become known as the “O.Carm.s” (Order of Carmelites - Calced), and those who became part of the Teresian reform became known as the OCDS (Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites). Lay people in the O.Carm.s. have become known as T.O.C.s or T.O.Carm.s. (Third Order Carmelites) - i.e. Lay Carmelites, and those with the O.C.D.s have become known as O.C.D.s members - i.e. Secular Carmelites.

My wife and I are practicing Catholics, and I am attracted to the teachings of St John of the Cross and St. Teresa of Jesus.
Did you join a Third Order?

I was trying to look what some of the books on your self are? What language are they in?
Father , how do I get the book. I live in the Philippines.
Is the habit of secular carmelite, is the same in the habit of religious carmelite ( priest and nun) ?
The distinctive indicator of the Carmelite habit is the scapular. All branches of the OCD family wear the scapular as a sign of our identity,

You may receive communion if divorced but NOT if remarried outside the church.
What is the difference between the OCD 3rd order and OCDS tertiaries?
