UniteTheClans I watch all your videos, love em btw... I was curious when I use these steps, when I destroy my fence foundations it also destroys my ceiling even if I put a pillar in and it's seated all the way down. Any advice will be much appreciated!

Thanks! I hate boxes too and I've been trying to figure out how to build an octagon for a few days now. I just started playing Ark so I've been trying to understand the building system. I found it's so much easier with S+. I love the noclipping.

Hi GG, great video. I was able to build this on PS4. So if you need the equivalent keys, I'd be happy to help. There are small differences in PS4 that people need to know in order to follow your tutorial. I was going to make a video but then I realized you had made yours. It's perfect.
1. Since ghost mode is only available in 1player, they'll need to stand on a platform or build a staircase to stand on.
2. You can't alternate sides, without moving your body, when placing the fence foundation. TRIANGLE only works to alternate directions, such as the stone Face side of wall or the wood beam side of the "stone wall". So for PS4 users, they will need to keep rotating their body and camera view, in order to place "fence foundations" at an angle.
3. SIDE NOTE: When I complete my tutorial on how I made my Castle, I will be sure to include credit to you for the Octagonal Tower Design. Phenomenal job!

Nice video and given me some great ideas for pens and structures on my server. After building, I've not managed to get on and test it but I'm fairly sure you can snap foundations to the pillars to fill that middle gap easier given that the foundation only has to be below the ceiling and not touching... Probably a way to use the foundations to remove the pillars completely if you spent enough time with trial and error.
hey GG Fizz, love your building techniques and I'm glad you've decided to do tutorials on some of the things you do, one question for you... do you think this is big enough to go around a tree in red forest, or should it be bigger? like a 2 or maybe even 3 ceiling / side on the octagon. Took me a couple of days but after slowing your video down and a little more trial and error I finally figured it out. Now it's the ceiling around the middle that I am struggling with

Hey Fizz, really appreciate the tutorials you are putting out. I enjoy building in Ark more than anything, and your videos are opening up a lot of fun ideas for me. I play on official servers, so the no mods tips are a huge help.

This would make for an interesting taming pit with some alterations. Such as 2 walls high & the bottom of the pit lined with stone walls & floor. Perhaps a dino gate on one end & a makeshift storage room attached to the other to store your kibble, tranqs & narcotics. meanwhile the walkway above can be lined with railings to prevent players from falling in while knocking the dino out.

Saw the octagon and was I can incorporate that into my dual split bi level, yes In Ark there is such a thing. Clicked circle with the letter I aka Info. and saw well dam the video i need. Thanks Fizz

Love the building vids, there are some awesome tips n tricks! Just wondered... I'm looking at building on the centre tropical island south, in the water cove at the back, I'm looking to have a water pen and water breeding, with s base on top for Dino storage, Dino breeding etc... you got any ideas??

only thing i could ask for is how u did the roof? im also pretty sure theres a way to do this with foundations as well, but might take some more playing around...

What is the setting to where when you demolish something, it breaks into little pieces? Mine just disappear and i kinda like the breaking effect.

When it comes to starting the build, is it possible to go both ways? I sort of want to make this on the end of my boat deck.
Skirting fix is to start with foundations on the ground. Then start with a wall off the foundation then ceiling then pillar. Once pillar is up demolish all but the pillar and follow GG's video. When complete you can snap walls to the fence foundation to complete the skirting.
wonder if dropping that original pillar would clean up that gap between the walls and ground.
and you think alternating foundations and ceilings could work doing this?

im trying to build.an octagon on top of a little uneven mountain top (center) what should I do when it says thatch wall is obstructed . (underneath)
One question - is there a way to make skirting to hide the raised section under the octogon?

I just built this but when I got back round to the start the last ceiling is higher then the first but when I go all the way round it's level? Hope that makes sense

How do you hide the opening at the bottom once you have completed your building. I noticed that their was what looked like, a small gap, Half wall height all around the bottom. How can this be closed?

I tried placing my industrial furnace down in side my building but it wouldn't let me. is that because of the slightly uneven floor?
