- Today in Ark Survival Evolved I’ll show you how to easily steal wyvern eggs solo on the rift (dragon’s trench) on the new Ragnarok map. Of course, it isn’t really easy to do, but it is the best way I have found how to do it by yourself, early in the game. You’ll need the highest level Pteranodon that you can get, and hopefully, a good saddle, put points into stamina, and some into weight and you are good to go if you use the terrain, in either the south or north ends, to your advantage.

A few new notes about the video. I now know how to pronounce wyvern! Yes, you did see a fire wyvern egg at about 9:55 I had collected it on a previous run, testing some of the methods before I started recording. I dropped it off there to reduce the weight on the pteranodon and came back for it later. I was a low-level egg, so it wouldn't be a big deal if it despawned and I lost it. Thanks for the comments!

I had killed Wyverns with high level pteranos, just do a head on and press C before the flame, the dash will avoid the damage and u will do a nasty hit to the wyverns, maybe takes a lot of time but, YOLO

He literally just stole eggs without any hassle. In my games there's at least 4 wyverns that aggro me before i even get near an egg.
I know this is years later, but its ALWAYS the smaller ark creators that have the best content, and I mean ALWAYS. This is literally amazing and saved me hours of grinding stone for gates and traps and were methods and it is so cheap... thank you for this I can now finally raise a wyvern army and will no longer feel like a noob(and also in ragnarok at the top areas with the lightning eggs the same thing is for me there are basically no wyverns there and I can just take the egg and dip and if I wanted one for milk I would literally have to fly all the way to the bottom trying to willingly find one)

Best wyvern egg video imo. You even went back towards the wyverns to make them chase you for a demonstration. This method also seems efficient so I’ll try it

Yeah I am spewing i finally got my high lvl lightening wyvern but my method cost me a lot more , well not that much more I tame a hoard of pteradons fly in there set them to agro so they attack the wyverns grabbed my egg and run leaving my half a dozen unwanted pteradons to die for my escape .
You can get fire poison lightning in a hidden crystal cave in the south as well, entrance cords are 67.2 Lat 48 long

I find this hugely frustrating actually. Picking up the high level eggs and not destroying the ones you don't want prevents respawn and stops the rest of us from sharing your enjoyment if we're playing on official servers.
You're right, this was in my single player, and I already had more wyvrens than I would ever need. Lately I've been playing on a server and eating low-level eggs when I encounter them. Very good point and good etiquette, thanks for sharing your opinion.

The only thing I'd do differently is when you exit the wyvern cave through that narrow entrance, you just hook a sharp left if there's a bit of distance between you and the wyvern. It usually gets them caught inside the cave and they can't follow you.

"Where are all the Wyvern?" -- tangled up in the trees on the beach where you left them.

Just get a 130+ pteranodon in the highlands. Use nearby mutton for fast taming.
Pump Stamina (600+ is good enough, did mine with that)
Grab egg and run towards highlands through nearest exit or easiest way, don't look around. They're coming. Immediately use strafe (R3 on PS4) to get a boost and spam this until you're about past the rock pillars in the center of the highlands. Stop for stam if you have to.
Be smart about it, don't grab an egg if any are nearby, and don't grab one if you can see a high level lightning anywhere nearby. Fire and Poison are easy to dodge if you're good enough. Good Luck.

There's an easier, albeit slightly cheeky, method than this that I haven't seen talked about before. (found this one myself)
Lay down a sleeping bag in the highlands, take your pteranadon, steal an egg, and fly straight up as high as possible until you get stopped by the world border. Be sure you're right over the highlands. Jump, die, retrieve your inventory. You'll fall so fast most of the time the wyverns won't follow you and when you die they'll lose agro on you.
You do lose a pteranadon this way but it's a small price to pay if I do say so myself
Nice technique to get wyvren eggs. If Ark gives you an exploit take it! The game gives us enough negative bugs.

The best way is to fly out of tender distance, then come back. Also, for the vanilla players, just make sure your ptera’s stam is above 1k and C-spin away.

Thank you! This was awesome. The last one has got to be the best trick I've seen which undernyour control. Can even use multiple sacrificial dinos there in case you have multiple wyverns coming after you.

I've found the best method is to have them follow you up into the snow biome, they will go after mammoths and forget about you every time. I build a small storage box up there too to keep my egg loot so I don't get weighted down until I'm ready to head back to base.

Stop running around trees. Make sure your bird has 1k OR MORE stamina. From there just use C attack to spiral away from the wyvern in a straight line. They will stop chasing long before you run out of stam. I've done this several times. No need to waste your time trying to get it stuck when you can just outrun the darn thing.

I tamed a griffin and went flying by here and saw a nest very high up and away from any wyverns then i grabbed the egg and yeeted my way out of there

I was testing my methods out earlier and got a low level fire wyvern egg and dumped it there. Good eye by the way!
Fat Frog's Swamp great method but i have one problem in your canyon there is max2 wyverns mine there are 16!! And the eggs that are in the canyon cant be picked up its my own server that i host can u help me?
It's really weird that you can't pick up the eggs. Unfortunately I don't know a solution. Hopefully someone else can answer. For a long time after I made the video I had no wyverns at all on the single player, then the game updated and they returned, but they slowly dwindled to nothing again.

The lightning Wyvern is the woirst. It has perfect precising and aim, and jjust zaps me before I can do any kind of maneuver. :v

My favorite strat is always to set up a capture pen, pretty simple thing to make where you make walls out of pillars so that a ptera can fly through just fine, and when the wyvern flies in it gets stuck because of their massive turn radius, and just have a turret or two hose it down. You wont really be getting wyvern eggs to hatch until you have the AC units to hatch them anyway, so you'd probably be able to have some turrets by then. You can also use the same trap to knock the female wyverns out to get some milk to feed the babies. ez lyfe.
You can have 16 fires and hatch one earlier than that to carry you through a good chunk of early life and just need some milk by knocking out females

Remember, there is a difference between attack agro and egg agro. Attack agro will wear off after a bit of distance, egg agro will not wear off unless the wyverns attack something else or go out of render distance. And egg agro has high range and can get almost every wyvern in a trench to start following you.

I managed to get an egg today (I get wiped pretty often so this was a huge accomplishment for me) amd I literally just waltzed in and grabbed one. There were no Wyverns around for some reason, so I just snagged one. It was...just amazing that feeling. I felt on top of the world. Hopefully I dont get wiped and my egg stolen..though it is only a lvl 50 haha.

Tip: if u see a low level wyv u don't want eat it so more can respawn
Tip 2: the higher the lvl the more food points the less need 4 milk

Edit:2 tip:3 if u have a duo get a giga or a rex park it next to scar get a good egg u want and go to the rex or giga and have the wyverns agro onto the rex/giga and get away with the eggs dont worry about losing the rex or giga at least you got high lvl eggs

I think in the first strategy if that had been a lightning instead of a fire you probably would of died.
You are likely right. I've been able to take a hit or two from lightning wyvrens with very high level pteranadons, and wearing armor, but in this case, I would have been lucky to get away with an egg.

I park my giga on the ravine. Put some tames I want leveled close by. Go in and go " wyvern fishing " . Quickly getting on my giga which tears the wyverns up. A tip. Don't go in there with any gear you don't mind replacing.

Watching this while this while taming a pheterdon
Another start is similar to the first one you place pillars in a row far enough apart to get a pteranodon or argue through but not a wyvern, do this a bunch of times and fly through them so that the wyvern gets caught in them and you can fly away.
I like to use high level quetzals and put a rex or Allo on top with agressive on, that's too heavy to move, it's affective to me c: you have to put gates around it or something to keep them from glitching off)
That sounds like a fun way to get rid of wyverns! I imagine that the quetzal and Rex need lots of health.
there is actually a secret cave under a waterfall where you can get lightning poison and fire wyverns this location isnt the only one i forgot the location but it is a really cool place

I have a bad habit of taming a sacrificial pteranodon. I steal the egg, get away from the trench and then wait for the wyvern to kill it. I then respawn and come back, grab the egg and run for my life before I'm noticed

Your method seemed like it went pretty smooth... I play ARk solo mostly and I assumed I needed an Argy to be fast enough to get an egg... Heck, I didnt realize I could grab a wyvern on day one. My maturation settings wont require me to have milk so it seems like a great way to fast track my early game.
I dont even want a wyvern that early... but it will for sure make getting around and taming other flyers a lot easier.
ok I might be slow to get in on ark just start ark month ago, the server you play really low on wyvern spawn the server I play holy xxxx bunch of wyvern roaming around, my batter strategy is take one egg and run like hell, don't want to hang over there and provoke the wyvern to chase you. XD

@@ArrowsSpecter no it can’t be pronounced either way. Not correctly anyway. It’s “why-vern.” It can be spelt “Wivern,” but still pronounced the same way as Wyvern. It’s not a big deal, but it’s annoying to some. Especially when it’s not like it’s hard to say it correctly or anything.

If you can't make kibble to tame yourself a high level pteranodon, or any high level meat eater, there's a pack of Ovis that spawn in that area he flew over at 5:20. It's near the top right corner of the map where green area is.
Good tip. Mutton is pretty easy to get in Ragnarok.
eh a tip is use a griffin u can literally escape within SECONDS. xD

freshcentipede you can get griffins easy. Just trap them then shoot them with tranquilizer darts. And if your a noob, then how do you expect to craft the air conditioners then knock out a wyvern to keep it alive. If you need to know how to tame a griffin, just build a 3×2 stone foundation, then place stone door frames and stack them on top of each other till its 3 door frames high. Do this on both long sides and one of the short sides. Then place stone ceiling and a stone dinosaur gateway on the open side and a reinforced gate. Open the gate and attract a griffin with a pteradon. Fly into it and jump off the pteradon and set it to passive. When the griffin attacks it, run out and close the door. The Griffin can't fit through the door frames or break stone, so you can shoot it from outside through the door frames. This works with any creature, even wyverns, so you can get there milk easily. just make sure you a just the size to what your catching and be mindful of what the creature can break.
TheFlamingCerbrus you don't need air conditioners, I've never used an air conditioner to hatch eggs. You need about 20 standing torches and that's all. I've hatched maybe 25 wyves this way.

I have never seen the rift that empty, every time I go I always see like 25 Wyverns, I already tried once and was just on the edge of the rift didn't even go in and aggroed one that chased me and killed my Ptera, have a few more Ptera's, just haven't got back over there to try again, but yea there is always like 25 and the rift is full everytime I go over there, I could not believe my eyes when I seen how empty it was on your video.......
I am on my own server so
This video was from a few years back. On my single player for some reason wyverns would stop spawning in. I now play on my own server, but I think there are only about 8 in the one trench and a few others in that side one.
Once you get one wvyren spam health turn it to passive and you get egg after egg, my tribe has a refrigerator filled with 30 190+ level eggs
imagine using the redwoods then getting jumped by a thylo LOL
Getting away with taking a wyvern egg and then getting surprised by a thylo is what Ark is all about.
I was going to redwood with my egg and a bunch of wyverns...
But not thylacoleo...just freaking microraptors...

Once you get a griffin you can dive and speed away like a savage, I went into the gorge and as I grabbed an egg an alpha wyvern attacked and I for sure wouldn’t have been able to get away if I didn’t have the griffin

There is also a wyvern egg spawn location at the south, south west side of a cove can be even easier to do solo runs for eggs just use scuba gear.
Men i went there and there is no eggs did the game remove the eggs or do i have to wait till its respawn again
From what I've heard. You have to lure the wyvern into the nesting area Male and female have to be present at or near the nesting locations very difficult to do without dying. So I've taken to taming throw away birds leveling them up enough to take the hits and to fly long enough to get to the desired location. I've only had the best luck in finding eggs using that method. But still they are an extremely rare item in the game

If you want increase that attack some- and join the wyvern in a long circle game while you bite its behind until it drops! Extra levels ezpz.
Once you get used to the circle of tango's lethality. And your spiked pulse.
Sure fire way to get wyvern eggs. At some point, it will all go wrong and you will lose one, but that's part of the game.

Using Crystal Wyvern for that is geat too. They are a bit faster than the normal wyvern 🙈

the extra speed makes a huge difference... ur not running vanilla speed.
I went back and changed the settings back to vanilla to do a test, and I still get good results, but I do have to be a bit more careful and use the highest base pteranadons that I can find.
Micah Pratt the wyverns move at the same speed just make sure not to get to close as they will hurt you cuz of their aoe and breath attacks but it is quite easy
if you're getting chased and you're put of stamina you can cryo your flyer to save it and just respawn at beach.
so even on my "solo" server theres like 100+ wyverns.. lol

Much easier to fly through the cave and as soon as you exit fly up and turn back toward the slash. It gets stuck in the cave

Doesn't seem to be helping him fly faster. Unless you have a mod on your servers to remove the flyer nerf then the extra movement is a wasted stat from when the Ptera was wild
It isn't too much of a boost, but it helps a bit. I have the tame stats turned up in single player so after all creatures are tamed they get a speed stat boost. However I can't pump movement speed on the flyers after they are tamed. I went back and changed the settings and tried again with the vanilla speed (130%), and a full spawn of wyverns. It was more difficult, but the methods still worked.
Having a slight speed boost really shouldn't change if this works too much. But if people really think the ptera isn't fast enough, then they can just get a griffin. Everything you showed in this video is very helpful to get started taming wyverns. thank you for putting this out there to help rule the skies
I have changed the settings since, and I don't remember exactly, but I am pretty sure I added to the "tamed dino stats per level", for speed obviously. For stamina I think I added to the " Tamed Dinos add per level" That way the base stats for stamina for all tamed dinos would be the same, not that it makes a difference in singleplayer.

u can spend 2 hours at crystal island to tame a crystal wyvern then come back, steal any egg that is near you , then attract every wyvern at the canyon and led then fly far away the canyon, eat the egg and get rid of the wyvern,.come back to the canyon, the whole wyvern canyon is safe to steal egg, eat every low wyvern egg for respawn, easy way to get high level wyvern egg
