Painting
PC - Hold alt-fire (default: Right Mousebutton) and use the number keys (1-6) to select which colour regions you wish to paint
Xbox - LT+ Up, Down, Left or Right on DPad (for region 1-4) and Xbox: LT+LB+ X or Y (for region 5 and 6)
PS4 - L2 + Up, Down, Left or Right on DPad (for region 1-4) and L2 + L1+ Square or X (for region 5 and 6)

Yeah, the good thing in mobile is it's free
but sadly it has low graphics,
it only have one map
and it's features are outdated
compared to other versions 🥲
@@Reymax164 i am sick of y'all hating on ark mobile for no dammed reason. It holds up just as well to the other versions of ark. Hell ark mobile has kibble types for each dinosaur where as every other version doesn't!

5:06 if you use the "K" cam on PC it locks your movement to left, right, forward, backwards and uses the mouse for camera angle and rotation letting you place items squared to the ladder and you can manipulate the camera to make sure the items are perfectly flush with walls.

Many times i had the Problem that i use the "k" method and cant set the Items, there only comes an error sound and i can set the item by changing slightly the perfect direction. Any ideas what is going wrong?
@@Schattenwolf_Sicarius Not 100% sure but orbital cam seems to place items much further away from your char then normal view. If the item you are trying to place is too far away from your character you can bring it closer by switching back to normal cam then using the down arrow on your keyboard. You might be looking at your feet at this point and the green 'placement blueprint' might switch to red and say that it's obstructed, but as soon as you switch back to "K" cam it will move further away and should work. This will allow you to place objects using orbital cam in tight spaces. When you are done you can celebrate by placing a vanilla spiral staircase then run down to get your character stuck in the corner.

Instead of adding a foundation every time, you can just keep snapping pillars down in a row to lower faster and farther. Then place the foundation at that height.
An addition to tip 8; I open the orbit camera before I get off the ladder. This way items stay aligned as I look around and place them much better.

I was going to say the same thing. Using orbit camera mode is mandatory.
(K to open orbit camera)
When attempting to hide pillars in ceilings, I’ve always found it best to remove the first pillar immediately after snapping the second one, that way you know you snapped it correctly before placing more pillars. Sometimes that second snap point doesn’t register even though you can see it!

This should definitely be series. I'm always more interested in the techniques and principles that I can apply to my own ideas than the builds themselves (although your builds look awesome).
Even as someone who has been building for a long time these are awesome. I thyought i knew all of the tricks, but you have the whole building thing nailed

Please do continue. I love your builds and often use them in creating my bases on the Official servers. But knowing these kinds of tips and tricks will help me be more creative with my own designs.
Been playing this game since early access on pc but always nice to pick up some new tricks and tips for building as there always seems to be some new things to learn in various videos like this one. Didn't know about either the fence outside walls nor the double wall so looking forward to use it on future builds.

As a still newbie builder, I have no idea how many times I've messed up pillars with the ceiling not showing. (I built one of your houses on a stilt platform over a hill) And it's such an easy trick, UGH. Thanks so much for this video, I hope there's more to come! ❤

Keep this going! It helps immensely to better understand how you are building in your videos, even though your videos explain it pretty well already. But the explanation with your voice while showing what is happening at the same time helps understand exactly what is going on with the weird ark snapping.

Aye ive recently went back to playing ark and i knew of your videos like the greenhouse one but its good to see you havent stopped since you are literally one of the best ark builders on TH-cam. Keep it up man, definitely have to subscribe now that youre using a mic.
You would think most of this would be super obvious but i've had alot of people ask me how to flip structures, cycle snap points, place pillars on corners ect. This video is very helpful for those players, i will definately be recommending this. A nicely done video!

This has been so helpful. Right of the bat my reaction is “There’s keys to cycle snap points?!”. I have spent so many hours swearing at Triangle roof pieces that seem to snap to every orientation except the one I want. I would definitely love to see more videos like this. If you have any tips for replacing sections without breaking stuff, that would be awesome. I was building a greenhouse inspired by your design and decided I wanted to change some bits. I replaced the walls, no problem, the door, no problem. Removed a ramp that went from the outside up to the roof - entire glass roof/ceiling collapses. Also would love idea on how to create the look of stairs with triangle roof pieces.
Been an avid fan for a long time please continue with this series as you're videos are extremely helpful

Haha you are welcome so glad you're not living in a thatch box anymore! As for the decoration and interiors, I don't do a lot I tend to use other TH-camrs to decorate my builds for time!

I actually built that ocean platform build on a friend's xbox server, and it was the first time I'd ever put railings in front of walls. It was also the first time I'd built outside of creative mode and now I have way more respect for people who do that all the time lol Thanks for all the tips and tricks; you've taught me pretty much everything I know about building in Ark.

Thanks for the tips Aaron!!! I have an idea for a build series, make bases that can be upgraded throughout the play through. I love all your builds and they all look amazing. That being said I can't even come close to your architectural masterpieces, and not all of them are 100% practical for everyday use.

I play this game on pc and nintendo switch and there are a few differences in building with some items and techniques unavailable on the switch, eg changing foundations to blocks. I find your videos helpful and whilst I might not follow your designs exactly, you have given me loads of ideas and helped me to improve my building, hope you will do more about tips and tricks.

Great vid and tips, could also add raising pillars and snapping triangle foundations to square foundations.
Great tips! I’ve seen you use most of these throughout your builds, but hearing the process behind them and the desired effect really helps. As a side question, I’m always fascinated by the decorations you display in your finished builds. Do you make those or get them from somewhere?
