  • Live Coverage: WI v. Kyle Rittenhouse - Kenosha Shooting
    Happening in Court:
Direct Exam of Kyle Rittenhouse - Defendant
    Charges:
    1. First Degree Reckless Homicide, Use of a Deadly Weapon (Joseph Rosenbaum)
    2. First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Use of a Deadly Weapon (Richard
McGinnis, reporter for Daily Caller, not injured but near Rosenbaum when Rittenhoue
    fired)
    3. First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Use of a Deadly Weapon (unknown male)
    4. First Degree Intentional Homicide, Use of a Deadly Weapon (Anthony Huber)
    5. Attempt First Degree Intentional Homicide, Use of a Deadly Weapon (Gaige
    Grosskreutz)
    6. Possession of a Dangerous Weapon by a Person under the Age of 18
    7. DISMISSED AT THE END OF STATE'S CASE. Prosecution failed to put evidence in front of the jury that there was a lawful curfew in place (appears to be an oversight by prosecution) Defense moved to dismiss, judge agreed. Fail to Comply with Order of Local Government - Emergency Management Activity (citation, carries no penalty) - everyone present was breaking the 7pm curfew issued by the sheriff.
Possible Sentence: Max: Life in Prison Without Parole (WI does not have the DP)
JURY CHOSEN IN ONE DAY. 20 jurors have been selected in WI v. Kyle Rittenhouse. 9 men and 11 women. (8 are alternates)
Rittenhouse shot and killed Joseph Rosenbaum, 26, and Anthony Huber, 26, and injured Gaige Grosskreutz, 27. Prosecutors say that Rittenhouse, then 17 and from Illinois, was a vigilante looking for a fight. He, like other right-wingers, went to Kenosha, Wisconsin ostensibly to protect property. This happened as protests over police shooting local man Jacob Blake turned violent. Rittenhouse’s attorneys assert he was acting in self-defense. This case became a cause célèbre among conservatives.
Prosecutors have struggled in court, failing to introduce evidence of prior aggressive behavior. This included evidence showing him attacking a woman who was in an altercation with his sister. The other is that he was closely linked to the violent, far-right Proud Boys organization.
Kenosha County Judge Bruce Schroeder said an appellate court would reverse him if he allowed these in trial. The evidence was too prejudicial, he said. He left it up in the air whether he would allow footage showing someone identified as Rittenhouse discussing a Black man exiting a CVS pharmacy. Rittenhouse believed the man was shoplifting.

If the fire department isn't going out to take on these bigger fires, why should Kyle thrust the fire department to show up for the smaller ones? Aye, prosecutorial overreach.
Had they charged him with manslaughter they may have stood a slight chance of getting a conviction on him, some jurors would go with that, even though we know it was self defence it doesn’t always go that way in a courtroom but to charge him with 2 first degree homicides and a first degree attempted homicide was optimistic to say the very least no sane jury would have found him guilty of intentional homicide.

The prosecution seems to be deliberately misinterpreting Kyle's answers. He's asking Kyle "why he brought the rifle with him." Kyle tells him "it's for protection." The prosecution asks "protection from who." The answer is no one specifically. He brought it JUST IN CASE he was attacked he could protect himself. It's not hard to understand. The prosecution- "Why didn't you hand it to anyone like you did earlier?" Kyle says there was no one trust worthy to hand it too. If he did that and someone stole it or used it irresponsibly, he could of potentially been brought up on charges. So that's another reason he brought the rifle with him. That's like asking someone why do people need a weapon at home for self defense. Uuummmm, it's IN THE EVENT civilians need to protect themselves. It's our second amendment right. The prosecution is trying to make Kyle look bad by any means. So many examples of this throughout this video. Kyle having to use his weapon not long after, is the answer to why he brought it with him.

Maybe the DA office thinks a mistrial would play better in the press than a jury with a not guilty verdict. People will say prejudiced judge, juries decide guilt, scream for justice for the dead. 99% won't watch any of the trial and you can see in the comments that some people just want to see Rittenhouse burn. It just seemed like the prosecutor was provoking the judge intentionally. So maybe they think they can't win the trial but can win the PR battle.

I wear my seatbelt in my car not because I'm expecting to get hit, but just in case I am hit. Based on the testimony, seems like Kyle was carrying the rifle for the same reason...just in case. Aggravating watching the prosecutor try to bait him into saying he was basically out looking for a fight.

Are you kidding me? The judge should be discharged.. refusing to allow the prosecutors to use the zoom function on an iPad to allow them to show evidence which directly contradicts the defendants testimony.. And on top of that the judge didn't even give him time to find an expert to disprove these absurd falsehoods offered by the defense. This is a false of a trial the judge has been biased since the beginning.

The FBI drone footage showed they ambushed him, chased him, he was running away and attacked with skateboards and guns -even the state’s “star witnesses” admitted it was self defense, you’re not being honest or objective if you don’t think this was self defense. It’s sad that anyone lost their life, but unfortunately they did.

    • @cmonayyy7238

And I’m sorry you’ve been mislead… Rittenhouse did NOT chase them he was being chased and attacked. Any objective person would see this

    • @simon92222
      @simon92222 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@cmonayyy7238 no. They shouldn’t be called victims unless the courts have already determined them to be victims which in this case they haven’t.
