      The only remotely valid theory of the case the prosecution had was to say that he provoked the attack from Rosenbaum and that was murder, which changes the context of the escape leaving him no right to defend himself from capture.
      And the evidence for that was very weak. A blurry video with just a few pixels of supposed aiming a gun at Rosenbaum (the time he wasn't in floodlight).
      I don't like how the prosecution wasted time on the idea that his mere presence there was provocation. How is someone going to sentence him based on that?

      God's justice indeed.
      Can you imagine if it had come back guilty? At that time? The millions of us watching who actually understood the case and saw the evidence (and aren't possesed by demons or whatever it is that causes all these muppets to think this kid was guilty of anything) would have been so disillusioned and in despair.
      Especially at that time... We'd all been bombarded with so much venom and lies, I submit that we all needed to see justice and truth shine through in America at least a little bit. This was like a ray of hope - a reminder that God's always with us, He'll win in the end, stay strong and perservere because there's always hope.

      Honestly, looking at the evidence of this case it is downright shameful that it even made it to court. Most obvious case of self defence I may have ever seen in my life. How it got to court at all let alone all the way to a jury verdict i'll never know.
      One thing i'm wondering is how on earth it took them 4 days to reach the blaring obvious decision that he's innocent. At least they got the right verdict in the end. Took too long though. This kid has basically lost a year of his life he'll never get back. I doubt he'll be compensated for that. There are no winners in this situation really. Except maybe the future victims of Rosenbaum the paedophile.

      juries hold no power. 1st, they're conscripted, by force of law, against their will, 2nd- they're holed up indefinitely while they are told what to think by two sides for hours or days on end, 3rd-the judge manipulates or instructs them what to think and do & 4th-the judge can just ignore them anytime he wants and even override or redirect the verdict.
      If "it's still the ordinary people who hold power" is true, then the people of Kenosha would have came out and stopped the riots in their city, instead they refused and let the vermin run wild. The only one who held power in this case, was Kyle.

    • @enlargedquack
      @enlargedquack 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@immeohmyoh 1. The jury holds the power to decide whether the defendant is guilty or not guilty. The judge decides the sentencing.
      2. Jury duty is mandatory because it allows a random picking of real people that attend the court sessions in person to form an educated decision and provide the highest likeliness that bias is kept out of the case and the same people are informed through the case, all with the same knowledge. We wouldn’t want a jury that was alternating throughout the case
      3. The judge does not manipulate the Jury at all, the Judge however is in charge of making sure that the jury is aware of the functions of relevant laws.
      4. The judge cannot “just ignore” the jury verdict, other than in very extreme and rare cases in which the Jury’s verdict cannot reasonably be supported by evidence. This almost never happens and it wouldn’t have happened here.

Obviously he was not a fan of disrupting the legal system in this way because of the upset, so he waited until the Jury passed down a Not Guilty verdict, which both dismissed the charges and is the most difficult result to challenge.
      Had the jury handed down a "Guilty" verdict, then the judge would have had to rule on both motions for mistrial before closing the case, and would likely have declared a mistrial then.
