    Imagine an adult with a criminal history of burglary, drunk driving, domestic violence, prowling and stalking convictions chasing down a child with a drawn firearm and the child then defends himself and the state wants to put the child in prison and treat the adult like he was the victim. Anyone who carries knows that retreating almost always disqualifies you from pursuing with force. That is called vigilante justice and it is illegal. Just because Kyle was in an area where SOME people were getting hurt does not mean he was hunting down aggressors lmao. We ALL have a constitutional right to assembly and counter-assembly. Him being there is his own decision and testimony backs up that his main purpose there was to provide first aid (which is very simple medical stuff but does help people from further injury) I think if you are going to something like this be it left wing or right wing, you should carry a weapon no matter what. Especially a firearm if you can conceal. If you want to open carry that's your choice, I choose not to because that puts a target on me but that doesn't mean I would be wrong in doing so. That is just my own personal risk assessment and not everyone has the same measurement of personal risk. Do you really think Kyle was the only person to defend themselves that night or across the country all of last summer? Again, everyone has a right to be there (peacefully i.e. in a non-destructive manner). The only angle that Kyle's chasers have is they believed they were stopping a "mass shooter" which he clearly was not. They were out to get him because he was on the other side of their politics and viewed anyone not on his side as their ally (Rosenbaum).

      There was absolutely no way any attempted murder charge against Grosskreutz would have succeeded. It would have been another massive waste of time and money. Had he shot Rittenhouse, he almost certainly would have been justified under self defense. He just saw Rittenhouse kill Huber and thought Rittenhouse was preparing to fire again. (Search for Rittenhouse Forward Assist for more details on what precisely happened.)
      The question would have been "Is it reasonable that Grosskreutz thought that 'Rittenhouse was about to shoot me'?" with the specific timing of Rittenhouse manipulating his rifle. The question would NOT have been whether Grosskreutz was right and would only be going off of what Grosskreutz knew.

      The prosecutor should be disbarred for prosecutorial misconduct. They tried this case based upon lies and political pressure... knowing full well, Kyle acted in self defense.

    I'm actually impressed with Rittenhouse on identifying threats and bystanders. Most people in the heat of the moment would be shooting anything thats moving close by. The defense did a great job pointing everything out.

      @Capt_Killingfield 2 ปีที่แล้ว +184

      I am also VERY impressed with how Kyle handled himself and his firearm. All shots were point blank, taken at the very last moment or in direct defense of an ongoing physical attack. He held it together being struck multiple times, and only fired upon attackers, no random shots. We should all be proud of him and hope that we all will perform just as well under those types of circumstances. This trial set a huge precedent for anyone who carries in public.

      Indeed, when Kyle fell down, the very first guy who reached Kyle turned away and started to run away and Kyle didnt shoot him because he realized he wasnt a threat, but i bet most people would have shot him in his situation. That alone shows Kyle had no intent to kill.

      It’s a crime against those who are too lazy to seek out the truth of events. They can lie all they want and the people can choose to blindly believe it or not. It’s not the job of the news to always tell the truth or we’d have even more citizens become unable to detect deception when it comes to them in other forms, like on social media or Hollywood. I guess we can be glad that so many are able to see the truth that we are able to not get swallowed up in the oppression altogether.
