JURY CHOSEN IN ONE DAY. 20 jurors have been selected in WI v. Kyle Rittenhouse. 9 men and 11 women. (8 are alternates)
Rittenhouse shot and killed Joseph Rosenbaum, 26, and Anthony Huber, 26, and injured Gaige Grosskreutz, 27. Prosecutors say that Rittenhouse, then 17 and from Illinois, was a vigilante looking for a fight. He, like other right-wingers, went to Kenosha, Wisconsin ostensibly to protect property. This happened as protests over police shooting local man Jacob Blake turned violent. Rittenhouse’s attorneys assert he was acting in self-defense. This case became a cause célèbre among conservatives.
Prosecutors have struggled in court, failing to introduce evidence of prior aggressive behavior. This included evidence showing him attacking a woman who was in an altercation with his sister. The other is that he was closely linked to the violent, far-right Proud Boys organization.
Kenosha County Judge Bruce Schroeder said an appellate court would reverse him if he allowed these in trial. The evidence was too prejudicial, he said. He left it up in the air whether he would allow footage showing someone identified as Rittenhouse discussing a Black man exiting a CVS pharmacy. Rittenhouse believed the man was shoplifting.

Mr. Washington's testimony showed there were dozens of armed people in the crowd at the gas station alone. Being armed that night didn't seem to be unusual or cause folks to be very concerned.
I mean until Kyle shot some people.
Until the rioters tried to murder Kyle.
Kyle had him and friends move on from burned carl lot. This guy was part of the destruction.
He threatened Kyle and alerted others to hassle Kyle.

Are you stupid or just trying to pain a narrative, I have seen about 5 videos on this witness already. Stop trying to pain your narrative as some victim complex.
That's because they do not want you to listen to what the witnesses actually say. They want you to rely on them to tell you what to think about it. The prosecution witnesses have absolutely destroyed the prosecutions case so far. So far all testimony has pointed to a very solid case of self defense. Corporate media do not want you to know that. It will make it harder for them to incite people to riot.

We actually had a security guard here in my hometown, who was struck with one while trying to stop a skateboarder. The skater struck him with his board, causing multiple facial fractures. The defense should show his x-ray as freaking evidence.

In the end turned out Jacob Blake shooting was justified because it took so long to present the evidence and there was no body camera video it lead to all this.
Multiple people captured the whole interaction on their phone. Dude tried to grab a knife out of his vehicle.....around cops that were telling him not to move. Now imagine the cops not having guns, you think the cops would've been stabbed to death? More than likely yes. 100% justified and to think not is being ignorant AF
The knife as well as the fact that kids were in the vehicle. The officers could not allow the suspect to flee.
The prosecution seems to be doing the defenses work for them. One of the points people have had is Kyle didn't belong there. Yet this witness claims the people causing destruction were from out of town.

Especially with the footage at the end essentially showing they were not acting in aggression prior to the shooting, so yup the prosecutors so far are actually somewhat helping Rittenhouse.

Another aimed at his head with a Glock pistol, as is clearly visible on video. Kyle's defense was fully justified. After that, he tried to provide first aid to the guy with and arm shot (who initially pointed a handgun at him) and later he run TOWARDS the police with hands up.

His testimony is reliable because of his captured video footage. It proves he was an actual witness within the situation. His account is valuable due to him being neutral.

Anybody else think it's funny that this witness is a "social media influencer", but he records vertical video? Also, I didn't see one protestor. I saw a couple of rioters, but mostly it's just a bunch of people hanging out past curfew, arguing and talking. A few times, it looked like a few people were trying to start a fight, but not one single protester.
I like how you hear the witness comment in the video how the cops were leaving and then people started throwing rocks.
He said they weren't pushing the dumpster toward the gas station, but the video kinda looks like it was moving in that direction. Also, I saw other video that looked like that.

That's understood. From what I know about the law. If someone dies when your already committing a crime your guilty for that death. The young man 1 was to young to even have the gun so he possessed a weapon illegally. 2 took it out of state illegally. So everything that happened while he was already breaking the law he should be found guilty for regardless of he was being attacked because everything leading up to the moment he was already breaking the law. So if he didn't break the law to start with none of that would have happened.

In any case this witnesses videos will allow everyone to understand how law is applied in courtrooms and will be used for teaching for many years. We shall see if Americans actually have a right to self defense.

@@vonclod123 it is possible the gun charge gets dropped. That was addressed this morning and the judge is still considering dropping that charge but still reviewing. He should only be stuck with the curfew violation which is not even a criminal charge
@@theRandy712 opening arguments are not evidence. The prosecution can claim whatever they want that they think the evidence will show but that is not actually evidence showing that. The defense however in their opening argument provided video and that video paints a completely different story than what the prosecution stated.
@LR Kay the prosecutor actually helped Kyle many times today. Today was a defense win, not a prosecution win. It is likely Kyle will be acquitted

And its not even clear that the gun ever crossed state lnes, that was tossed by media without verification, as they do when they got a good juicy narrartive.
also, none of those shot were unarmed. 2 had guns and any ther whacked his head with abskateboard which easily could have killed Kyle. To topmot off, that one grabbed kyle ´s gun, so he could not be considered unarmed then even without the board.

The defense seemed to be comfortable with a total blackout so... I'm going to assume it was a technicality thing and of no great consequence to their case.

I didn’t pay much attention or learn exactly why that cigarette smoking was brought up. Someone explained it was not necessary to focus on the act of cigarette smoking as if it’s important in itself but was part of a overall explanation of Kyles demeanor as potentially being angst or riled up and on edge. If I were on the jury, I’m not sure that’d sway me much but I do understand the reasoning that behavioral cues and the ‘feel’ of nuances to the whole situation is important for whatever reason. Yeah?

Kyle is also innocent on the “Minor in Possession” charge. The Title of Wisconsin 948.60 makes him sound guilty, but the exclusions listed in paragraph 3c show exclude those between 16-18 from the rule as long as they are not carrying a short-barreled rifle and take a hunting IF THEY WILL BE HUNTING.
Kyle was not hunting, so he did not need the cert.
Further, 29.304 requires all 14-16 year olds to take the course to carry a rifle whether they are hunting or just carrying while not hunting.
By charging Kyle with this the prosecution is saying that the legislature intended to put more restrictions on 16-18 than on 14-16.
The judge was too confused to drop the charge even though he studied the law for several hours. If this goes to the jury it will probably have them sorting it out dor a week, but ultimately it must be dropped.
