One more tip to think about is when making smoothies. Start on low then ramp to high until fully blended and then FINISH ON LOW to remove all the excess air. High speed blending can inject a surprising amount of volume and air into your smoothie which when consumed will often cause unnecessary gas and bloating if not removed by finishing on low setting.
Another tip when making smoothies or anything you want to keep cold is to invest in the stainless steel jar. It is a game changer as they say. I love it so much I have purchased 3 of them one for myself and one for each of my daughters. It is beautiful and it feels cleaner and it keeps cold ingredients colder.
Love my Vitamix. I bought it 4.5 years ago and have been making two smoothies a day in it since I purchased it. The smoothies consist of 15 ingredients and are thick as cement. These things are like Timex’s watches, they take a licking and keep of ticking. I have never had a kitchen appliance that is so durable and basically indestructible.
I love my Vitamix. My wonderful sister sent it to me as a gift and I have just started with smoothies and juices. Best gift I ever received. Cant wait to try soups and ice cream. Marlene.
I used to grind wheat berries for my waffle recipe in my Vitamix. One thing I found out the hard way is that some very hard particles survive the processing, and can be quite unpleasant to bite into. I started sifting the flour after grinding it,which fixed the problem.

@@user-pp7dz7ky5q I have a vitamix I bought in the 90’s, I had to go look at my cap also...nothing...so I’ll take a measuring cup and pour in the cup of the vitamix cap to see how much it holds
I’ve had Vitamix for almost 8 years now and it’s a wonderful machine. Unfortunately, I used it faithfully for the first year, then life happened and I’ve rarely used it since. But, with videos like this, I can easily get more interested. I have the dry mix container and if I can pulverize graham crackers in it for a crust, there’s hundreds of uses, I could use it for. I also have that handy little scraper she used, to get under the blades. I’ve made almond butter too, but just used the wet container with the almonds and added a little bit of oil to get the ground almonds to emulsify. But, it was really hard getting that junk out of the container, since the bottom lid doesn’t come off. But, I’ve used it to make butternut squash soup and it does an awesome job. Let it run for about 6 mins and you really do get hot piping soup! The Vitamix motors are extremely powerful and heat up to get that soup hot and ready to eat. I’ve never put it in a cabinet, so I’m more intended to use it feel guilty not using it! It’s too expensive and useful, not to use..
Video over two years old. So glad I finally found it and wish I did two years ago. I have a 750 and I knew it did more than I was using it for but really had never gotten the hang of it. Now I know how to make hot soups! And I know how to make soft serve desserts! And now I have several other ideas as well. Such a great video. Everyone with a Vitamin should take a few minutes and see this.
You are awesome and I thank you so much for all your help in making my vitamix blender a great success. I just got mine a a Mother's Day gift from my husband. I've wanted one forever and now I have it. life is great
Cleaning foggy containers - I use a plain magic eraser and gently scrub the inside in a circular motion, making sure you don’t hit a blade (ouch!). After each use, thoroughly dry the container with a soft cloth - I use a microfiber cloth because it’s so absorbent. You can even clean older containers the same way. It doesn’t make them absolutely like new, but the difference is amazing. Drying them after each use is key.
Thanks; I let them air dry (lid off) after drying the inside and I do catch the blades w/a microfiber cloth. No rust after lots of years, but I also live in a dry climate which helps.

Using a silicone 'basting' brush really helps getting everything out because it's not a solid thing, not to mention less to clean out of the container. Mine brush is oval about 1.5" by 1".
To help get the last bits of food out of the container, scrape as much as possible with the spatula. Then, place the container back onto the machine and turn it on for a couple of seconds. Denture/retainer cleaner I make basic fruit/yogurt smoothies frequently had residue accumulating on the blades and bottom corners of my blender. After dropping in a couple of denture/retainer cleaners with a cup of water and leaving them to sit for 30 min, I could finally scrub it off more easily.

Congrats for the 500K! To own such a badass machine and not check your tips and hacks would be a shame and a waste of time finding this stuff out on your own...so thanks a lot for your generosity. Greetings from Croatia (sorry the contest for Vitamix doesn't include also Europe).

Very helpful and wonderful video.love to watch ur videos.supe life style and good qualities u have.AndI need this blender. From two years I want to buy blender.thanks for shsring wonderful tips.
Great tips! I'll make sure to get that underblade scraper. A good solution for making small batches/half recipes is to get a smaller Vitamix container as well - I did that after experiencing this issue and it's working amazingly!
I bought a one-quart bowl for mine and don't often use the 2-quart that came with it. However, the larger one is really handy during canning season and even more so for tomato juice and sauce. I quarter the fruit and then run it through my VM - it's so much easier than blanching to peel tomatoes (and saving the heat) and the food mill. For grape juice, I put the grapes in it; the way I keep the seeds which have many health benefits - I also freeze the juice in 8-oz. freezer jars for fresh juice all winter. I truly love my VitaMix for so many reasons.
This is nice. I have never owned a vitamix but the video shows its a must have. I will keep watching your videos over and over may be one day I will be able to buy myself a vitamix. Your videos are so helpful I can miss any. Keep up. I pray for a vitamix one day

This is a GREAT video! I’m planning to purchase a Vitamixer and this gives me a better understanding of how to use and care for it. Thank you!!!
I agree... I am planning on purchasing a Vitamix too. This was very useful.
Congratulations on hitting over 500,000 subscriber's ! Vinegar is great for the blender, and when cleaning pots (stainless) with stain marks. Pour some vinegar in a pot, add water, and boil.
Thanks so much Sandy! And yes, definitely. :)

I had some wonderful laughs. This guy is very funny! Good product, fabulously performed! Just marvelous.
VERY Useful tips. Thanks for sharing! Continuous Blessings!😍
Great tips! I'll make sure to get that underblade scraper.
A good solution for making small batches/half recipes is to get a smaller Vitamix container as well - I did that after experiencing this issue and it's working amazingly!
KC except those cost a fortune in addition 🌚 it blows my mind how you can buy a good motorbike/second hand car for the amount people spend in blenders
@@volpe_lightsong and the Vitamix sounds like a motorbike too!

Aw, thanks so much Firmine! You're so sweet. And yes, they always have a huge Mother's Day sale which is a great time to snag one. ;)
Keep watching QVC as well--they often have great deals. Just make sure, though, that you choose a Vitamix that has a variable speed dial--they're much more versatile than the 2-speed models.
Great tips, thank you. Such wonderful news regarding your subscribers, you totally deserve it!
Aw, thanks so much Ruth! And I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
I made my first smoothie yesterday, strawberry, banana, yogurt, half avocado, spinach and ice. It was way too thick and no vortex happened. Perhaps not enough volume, but I only wanted enough for a smoothie for me. Trying again today!
Thanks so much I have a vitamix 5000 for 18yrs and still working
