My best friend just confessed to me how he feels about me, i'm currently not dating for my own personal reason (lifestyle choices and beliefs are just changing) and i'm taking my time because of how controversial it can be mentally on if i want to allow someone that close to me to share that information. I think it’s always better to disclose first because a lot of people have herpes. It’s always good to find someone that already is herpes positive unless you plan to they will become positive for you

When you look at the numbers you don’t have to limit your dating pool to just people with herpes. For men the transmission rate is only 10% annually with no preventative measures (and no having sex during and outbreak) & taking the medicine brings it down to 5%, adding condom use brings it even lower 2.5%! For women transmitting it to men it’s even lower! So don’t need to limit yourself or your dating pool!
