    Hi everyone! Are you using Carver? Let me know what you think in the comments below! :)

      Hey dude, how are you? I just started using carver is awesome but for some reason when I apply custom brushes to a spaceship I am building, I press the space bar and D for thickness but I do not get the same result as on a flat surface and blender keep on crushing. I have a decently powerful workstation so I am kinda puzzled on why blender crashes. Any little help would be greatly appreciated! Great blender channel by the way :) Glad I have found you

    Thank you for bringing Carver into the spotlight! It's tucked away and seems to be very underutilized. I want to master this add-on before I look at more complex ones. This + BoolTool is already a huge buff to hardsurface modelling.

    Wow, it blows my mind just how great the free carver addon truly is! This has been a huge help especially considering you can add your own custom brush cutters! Great video!!

    Wow. What an amazing addon - can't believe I didn't know about this. I might prefer to use this over BoxCutter, considering it's so easy to create your own cutting profiles!
    Thanks so much!

    Discovered that if your mesh already has a material, the new cuts automatically assign space for a new material.. . handy :)

    amazing! going to save this video for later but already saw the short and looks like one of those "I wish I knew this 4 months ago" videos. Which is probably why I need to subscribe haha!

    Fantastic thank you. Months ago I had accidently used the brushes (your point number 7) but since then had been unable to figure out how I had done it. Thanks again

    • @TheCGEssentials
      @TheCGEssentials  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol - there is ridiculously little documentation about how that feature works - I looked in the notes on the Blender knowledge base and it basically says documentation about adding custom brushes is on the developer to do list and provides nothing.

    • @MrMad1966sChannel
      @MrMad1966sChannel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheCGEssentials yeah I looked for docs for so long but found nothing. Really got to a point I thought I was cracking up and the feature must have been removed. Anyway big thanks again

    During snapping to grid at 3:58, is there anyway to make the first click snap to grid and not just the second part? I'm having trouble getting perfectly grid aligned cuts since I can't find a way to make the first click align with the grid. (I've tried google search and others vids.)

    The rebool function doesn't work for me - it says "Error: Modifiers cannot be applied to multi-user data". I've already made the cube a single user and made sure there are no other instances. Opened a new file with brand new copy of Blender 3.2 and still same result. Anyone else had this issue?

    bro... I love you channel. I really do. I notice you always have harsh lighting and shadows on your face. Why dont you maybe add some tint on your window or your a scrim (even a dyi one would help reduce a few stops).

    Instead of doing a cut I'm applying a solid ! and as soon as I finish the cut the Carver tool cancels? I've pressed a key in error, which one? I have to Esc and reopen to clear it ?
    Thx

    You know, you never showed how to use the tool. You turn on the plugin, then just start making rectangles while in Object mode with the normal cursor. How do you activate the tool? You said something about Shift-Ctl-X, but is that a keystroke you set up? (And why does this tool work in Object mode?)

    Hey I'm trying to use carver but it doesn't give me the difference option and keeps the create option even when I shift Ctrl x

    • @FalseDeities

      I’m also struggling with this

    • @FalseDeities
      @FalseDeities ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok actually I figured this out. You have to have the object you want to cut selected or it just creates geo. Makes sense actually.

  • @ultimaoportunidadVEVO

    this is crazy

  • @FalseDeities
    @FalseDeities ปีที่แล้ว

    When I launch carver I keep getting stuck in its create mode vs difference. So it’ll just create geo. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

    • @ravendaee

      I had the same problem. Press Ctrl + Shift + X on Object mode

    why do you just launch into pressing buttons- how about a few sentences saying why to use something, when to use something-
    it's not teaching, it's just spewing commands-
    sometimes those that know the software the best, are the worst teachers-
    still- good vids

  • @lonesomealeks4206

    honestly, I'm sick and tired of blender add-ons free or not. you need hundreds of them to make blender a complete 3D software. big downside of opensource is this. it's almost as bad as the millions of Linux distros all free and all incomplete...

    • @Cain-x

      Blender is just a tool, use it as such.

      Here we have a saying "For free, even a forehead injection". Don't blame a free tool, it's free, if you don't like it, use a paid one and then blame for the incompetence
