    What a thrill. I never owned a Gixxer, and never had a passion for it. But boy, Suzuki made me dream about this one.

      Agreed, same here ! The black GSX 1000 looked so good, hope it comes in the R package too.

    •  7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I started my passion with suzukis back on 1986 when they "invented" race replica bikes with the first and mighty gsxr750. 170kg 100hp. Had many since then and I was waiting for this one since 2008...

    I actually love the looks! (Minus the exhaust which is easily replaced). And I was never a fan of a the current gen GSXR looks. The front headlight / design is much nicer now. Kudos to Suzuki!

      G no kidding I'd rip that exhaust off and leave it at the dealership.

    • @Gautam454
      @Gautam454 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I guess we have to blame all the new Euro 4 emissions crap for the exhaust. Look at the Ducati 959 Panigale Euro spec. Also has ugly exhausts!

    I love the GSXR’s and GSXS1000’s, that’s what I want, the do it all fast bike for the road! I’m to old to ride all day on a full super sport so I’m wanting a fast comfortable bike now! I have rode most bikes out there and the ZX10RR and R1 will always be my favorites. The R1 for its amazing handling and light feel and the Kawasaki for its raw blistering power those ZX10RR’s just scream down the road! I liked my R6 but it was just a bit to small for me and I would have loved more torque so I figure a new naked 1000cc bike will be perfect for me same speed as 600 super sport and straight up riding position!

  • @andrekhan1036
    @andrekhan1036 7 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    He wants to say that this is the best liter bike but they have to wait till the shootout. This will win you can tell by his expressions. It will also be the most comfortable to ride on the street like it's predecessor. The GSXR10000 is back and I'll take one in black to mask the ugly face but GSXR's were never good looking bikes kind of like the Subaru WRX STI of motorcycles. I don't care though it's all about the ride not what other people want. You can go get a 959 Panigale if you want looks and people to stare at you while you roast your balls from heat of the desi motor.

      Andre Khan ...it will certainly be one of the most comfortable, but they are just catching up with the electronic stuff. It sound like they at least now have a comp bike in all aspects. Good for them, this from a R1 guy.

      I've got a K5 GSXR 1000 and I think Suzuki have done it again...They deserve it after all the years of slow sales due to being in a bad condition as a company and not being able to develop new top technology bikes like this...vicious circle...I have just bought a 2011 ZX10R for the track, but I hope Suzuki clean up with this...It's also a good price like the K5 was.

    It's just such a bargain for what you get and especially when you consider what its fore-running Japanese counterpart is asking for its 1000RR. It's a non-brainer, imo. I like the new headlight too...reminds me of an MV Agusta.

    • @andrekhan1036
      @andrekhan1036 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Exactly MV gets away with it but when Suzuki does it people call it ugly. WTF?

    • @RudraxT

      most of them are idiots and talk shit about the bike before sawing it in flesh

    • @cerebralmethod9112
      @cerebralmethod9112 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Andre Khan Well, of the two, MV is the originator, but I know what you mean. Japanese bikes have been bulletproof for years, but if MV all of a sudden started making THEIR bikes reliable, MV would likely get the credit. Reliability is nice to have, but many consider it boring and take it for granted. I'm a fan of gixxers and I think their racing paint scheme is a little tired. I think that paint scheme turns some people off Suzukis that have it. Having said that, this new gixxer looks pretty awesome all in black, with the blue accents, or even the red as we have it here in Canada.

    • @ShamanWS6
      @ShamanWS6 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ehhh... you can buy an Aprilia RSV4 RR for less. Wicked bikes. ZX10R and S1000RR are right in the running, too.

    • @cerebralmethod9112
      @cerebralmethod9112 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steve C Ya, I had an RSV4 R before it got stolen. Definitely a sweet bike, but on the heavier side, relatively. The front end is beautifully engineered and the sound of the engine and exhaust is intoxicating. Because of its rarity in my area and consequent desirability, I won't have another one until I have a non-communal garage that I can build into a vault. Otherwise, with all the options we have now in the litre, supersport segment, I agree that we're pretty spoiled.

    After seeing one live, it still looks a bit crude and agricultural as Suzuki always does. Europeans and Honda too looks much more finished, styled and designed. Better quality items. Suzuki has a bit rough welding, some plastics look and feel cheap etc. But somehow this feels like a bike with great bang for the buck.

    Bike looks dated even before hitting show room floor.
    You can have all the tech in the world but if your product looks like it came from your 2005 line-up then you deserve to get beaten up on sales and then some.
    Suzuki HAD ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD to bring a super sharp killer 1000 and they come out with this . . . nah, i would take the BMW with my eyes closed, even if it made 100hp.

    You mentioned it was pursuing the s1000rr which is funny as the bmw was designed from the K6 GSXR1000. Suzuki is 30/15. New balls please.

    I love owning a superbike, but I really feel like they're becoming a thing of the past on the street. I don't see as many now and the price is getting astronomical. In a few years, when I want to trade up, I'm going to have a hard time justifying spending $12-$13000 for a used bike.

      Justin Bergeron It really depends on the local market and time of year. In FL, it's nice all year round. Not so much in MN. I got my current bike in mint condition for $1800 under NADA from a dealer because I bought it in winter.

    Whats to say. Could you make the dash any more confusing and small digital readings. Good luck looking at that down a highway or on a windy road. As for the exhaust pipe it looks like a telegraph pole first thing to remove. The new r1 lost its appeal when they went back to anside pipe although that looks like shit its not nearly as big or as dick looking as the gixxer pipe. Few years to late suzuki. Nothing new hear the zx10, bmw s1000 and new R1 are already there without the shit grapics.

      Serge Go R6 is old. only R1 and the new gixxer 1000 are new. I rather race a D675 than old r6 with wannabe r1 clothing :p

      :-) I did not suggest Daytona as I thought you are more into Japanese 600s, but yes, Daytona is great, I have one myself, 2015 model. :-) I do like how R6 looks, both the previous version and the new version, R6 always looks sharp! I don't know what you mean by "R6 is old", they've updated it this year. Yes, the engine is not new, but it is a great engine with screaming top end.
      R1 is not new anymore, two years old now. GSXR1000 and Fireblade are new though.

    • @Pillokun
      @Pillokun 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Serge Go the frame and swingarm is also old on the r6. if a bike should be classified as new at least the frame should be new. The fireblade is only a "refresh" to be honest as not even the engine is new and the frame is same with same geometry(thinner walls is nothing special and radical). Only two bikes are totally new compared to the bikes it replaced and it is the now older R1 and the new gixxer 1000. All the other bikes are quite old.
