The Japanese build the best motorcycles on the planet 40 years ago and still today. Those of us that love and have had the honor to experience riding on such affordable well made motorcycles owe the Japanese a huge thank you. Thank you Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki!
No, but a friend of mine has one that is in very good condition and he is now having electrical issues with it. I could ride it if I wanted to and I still may. He told me it's fun to ride but no more than a Japanese bike. I think all bikes are fun to ride, my problem with BMW, Arillia, Ducati is that they are not as reliable and parts cost more than Japanese. I have seven Japanese bikes from 1988 to 2012 and haven't had major problem with any and I ride a lot. I did have to have the carb's cleaned on my two oldest bikes and I did have small coolant leak on my 1997 Concours and I rode it that way for a few months until I figured out it was just a loose clamp on one of the hoses, never did over heat. People can spend their money any way they want, but I'm sticking to the four Japanese brands.
Goddamn all this hate in the comments. This does not mean other brands are worse or bad. But someone who drives 2 wheels and trys to downplay japans huge influence on the bike world is a moron.
Enormous respect to the skilled and dedicated engineers at Suzuki for my great 1978 GS1000 and my 1991 GSX-R 1100. Those engines were indestructible and offered leading--edge performance at the time. I would buy another GSX-R if I were younger. Solid engineering and miles of enjoyment over 5 countries. Great video. All the best, Rob in Switzerland
You are not very old. I just turn 62 and I just got a 2023 GSX S1000 😉 I sold my GSX1100F 2 years ago and regret it. Also have a 2021 SV650X and there is no way I will sell it, great little bike. You ride safe Rob
Suzuki is at its core of building the best machines the world has ever witnessed. GSX-R is undeniably one of the most reliable bikes ever build by an established Japanese company. I am a fan.
I am so thankful for Suzuki and the opportunity of enjoyment they have given me. I love my K3 GSXR 1000. When I upgrade it will be back on GSXR but newer. I am Suzuki for life.
These legends are responsible for my life long love of motorcycles. I started on a 1988 gsxr 750, mine was a year old and I was 20. I'll never forget it, best time of my life.
We have a '96 "Gixxer" GSX-R 1100, with black cherry custom paint. "Bullet" is fast as one and tough as nails. It's just a beautifully designed bike that's a blast to ride. It's also a comfortable ride for hours at a time, it just never gets boring. It's great garage candy and we love it.
Superb documentary, great passion and genuine love for the mighty Gixxer from all the Suzuki staff. Like they were discussing a much beloved old friend.
I love my ‘95 GSXR-1100, my ‘00 TL1000R, and my ‘08 GSXR-1340 Hayabusa! I love them all differently, they each have their own personalities and traits that make you want to crack the throttle each and every time I throw my leg over that seat!! Well done Big S... well done!!
Kawasaki owner stopping by for a visit. From Hondas to Yamahas, I love and respect all the Japanese motorcycle manufacturers. They are all without a doubt the best of the best in what motorcycles are. Thank you gentlemen.
I'd love to visit those guys and shake their hands. I've been a Suzuki man ever since my first ride on my mate's 750K back in the early 1990's. What a masterpiece that was back then. Kevin Schwantz was putting his life on the line at every GP and I started saving and bought a 750L Slingshot, a bike I'd love to buy back if ever I could find it! G130 RNU WHERE ARE YOU??? What a great time to be into bikes...
Think about how much combined experience sitting in that interview room. They are the manifestation of the Japanese work culture where you stay with your company for life.
My initial post actually contained a line regarding how questionable the working conditions have been and still is for many Japanese people as well as the presence of somewhat racist attitudes to people of non-Japanese descendent. But I chose to focus on the positive points ... wait.
Serviced my bike yesterday. The engine of my bike is pretty much the same with the first GSX-R. I love it. Suzuki uses it for more than 20 years in different bikes. Thank you, Sirs!
I have change many motorcycles from my 35 years, i can say i love them all but yes ONE make my heart hit like crazy, and enjoy every day, ride with that suzuki, i was make crazy staff with that motorcycle...lol now i can think of it ....way to crazy staff :) Thank you suzuki for my memory's from GSX-R750 SRAD 1998 silver black :)
When I was looking for my first bike I wanted a 06 to 09 Honda CBR. I found one but the guy stopped replying, I gave up and finally saw an ad for a blue and white 09 GSXR 750 for a reasonable price. I fell in love with it when I saw it on the web page, when I saw it in person I bought it right away. I got it with 10K mile it has 30K Plus now.
Dude this shit really got me in my feelings. These people brought sportbikes into the only thing I like doing and I grew up around sportbikes. So i guess i never realized how recently they were made
I remember when I was a teenager, on warm summer nights I would hear sport bikes racing around in the dark. I knew someday I had to have one. My first was a 2001 GSXR 600. Motorcycles are life, nothing better.
I'm sorry for whatever happened to you. I got my first Sport Bike 7 months ago, Switched over from Harley. I've always wanted a GSXR and finally got one. I rode it for about 5 months. Went down 3 different times. It's sitting in my garage in need of a new front wheel and Tire, Rebuild the forks, and new fairings. Hopefully it's up in a few more months. It is definitely a whole new beast compared to what I'm used to riding. But, I finally got the bike I've wanted since I was 10.
I have owned many bikes from all four Japanese brands and also Harley. I think Suzuki 4 cylinder engines in the GSX-R's, and all those that use derivations of those engines like Bandit's, the katana, GSX-S are the best of all. Durable and can be pushed to far higher than stock power without breaking. The best shifting transmissions.... The passion for the bikes that Suzuki engineers have is evident in every bike. I've only ever has suzuki GSXR sport bikes my first was a 04 gsxr 1000 then baught a 07 gsxr 750 and now my pride and joy 2006 gsxr 1000!!!! I love love love suzuki!
I'm so brand loyal to GSXR and suzuki in general. They are incredibly reliable and have such a strong culture in the motorcycle world. Would not trade my suzuki for anything. It always has my bck
I remember a magazine article years ago that covered and interviewed the Suzuki Test riders, all done up in their RS Taichi and Kushitani Leathers along with custom lids and talking about testing all the proto type models. Honestly what a bloody amazing job to have..
i usually dont hear people talking about suzuki because they didnt release the new overhyped bike thats super special. suzuki is not spectacular. suzuki is reliable and they love the quote "never change a running system" (as you can see on many models that havent been updated in decades like DRZ400, DR650 and so on). normal people would say "thats lame, nothing special, buy a ktm or ducati". but suzuki fans like me know they will never have a problem with a suzuki and appreciate that. because suzuki is that much careful makes them trustworthy and you cant trust another brand as much as you can trust suzuki. on a suzuki (exept the sports bikes) you wont be the fastest but you will be the last one whos laughing and riding when that ktms piston stops working and youre doing another 50K miles. all i want to say with my crappy english is i love suzuki and you should too because they build the best motorcycles i think the american would say "best bang for buck" and you can really see they want to build motorcycles for the folk and not for the snobs like ducati does
Thank you GSX-R Team at Suzuki. Really great job, great bike...I love it. I can feel your passion in every word you say. Personally i had a GSX-R 1000 from 2001 and the K5 from 2005 on. Recently I bought a GSX-R 1000 from 2002. Had also a GSX-R 600 and currently I build up a GSX-R 750 from 2011. Have a lot of fun with it, a real genious construction. A small but important detail: Your service manual for the 750 K8 and 1000 K7 is the best I have see ever. And I have seen many of them.
I once had my 2002 gsxr1000 pinned for about 8 minutes straight.. When I got off, I gave it a pat, and chuckled when I walked away.. dame they were built for it..
If it was a American or European co., that would all be arguing and saying how great they were, Japanese culture is humble and collaborative, respectful and quiet. And produces the best results. Ths GSXRs are wonders of modern design and complexity that preform beautifully. Love my '03 GSXR 750!
Rode for 5 years a K1 GSXR 1000 in race trim and made my first experience on race tracks. With quickshifter, Ohlins rear shock and some other mods on the forck and brake, I was still able to make life hazzardous for some guys on BMW S1000 and Panigales. Bike was a beast in early acceleration phase and so smooth on the throttle (thanks to Dual thottle valve techn.). Will never forget it...
I've been a Harley rider since I got my permit and rode lots of bikes in the past years. Last week I bought a GSX-R600 k1 after having numerous issues with my HD-bikes. I love riding my Harley Davidsons, but after riding the GSX-R, I have to admit that I love this bike as much as I love my Harleys. It feels amazing, and knowing the idea, motivation and team behind the production of these bikes now, I have to admit; This bike is amazing in every aspect.
I've owned yamaha, Honda, kawasaki, Suzuki my whole life of riding. multiple models and years from r6, r1, cbr600rr, cbr100rr, zx6r, zx10r and tbh I like different things about every bike but the GSXR has hands down never cease to amaze me. Their handling to power ratio is very easy to handle for a new rider. 07 cbr600rrs handle the best imo but as far as power the gsxr is a missile on straights. kawi has a tad bit stiff out the box and Yamahas power band is wack. gsxr boy forever.
I once had a 1991 750 GR7AB - it was waaay to heavy for me but still - of all the bikes I owned till today - it's the bike I rode the most. It was so smooth and controllable ... just an awesome machine.
The best thing on this life is not buying suzuki GSX R but to experience it , ride it , master it, and live with it. That.. something that money can't buy. Thank you SUZUKI from the dex tune corporation.
Those early generation gixxers will always have a place in my heart, best looking bikr ever with the CBR's a close second. 2 round headlight never should've been abandoned!
i've got a '99 750, other than FI it doesn't have any modern computer trickery, it's quick and agile and puts a bigger smile on my face, every time i ride it than any other bike i've ridden or owned. I'll keep it as long as i can swing my leg over it.
I bought my first motorcycle in July of 2018 and I got a 2018 GSX-R750 that only had 2 miles on the odometer. I absolutely love this bike and it’s safe to say that I’ll always be a gixxer rider.
I have had 3 Suzuki's- 89 Gsxr1100 oil cooled, Gsxr 1000 k7 and am hoping to purchase my busa next month! These are great bike's for experienced lunatics only!
nice upload, wow that was interesting! it was really really cool to see they were still excited working on it. but the most standout info was by far the fact that all the Japanese EMPLOYEES RACED THEM! THAT IS JUST SO COOL TO HAVE THE ENGINEERS GETTING IN AND COMPETING! the motivation they all must have had, I guess that's why they are all so good.
As an owner of a 2022 Suzuki GSXR 750Z, I really appreciate the engineering and handling as well as the styling. The only thing I would like to see on my bike is a smaller LED front headlight, like or similar to the GSXR 1000, and a quick shifter. I love my gsxr 750, and it's a keeper. I don't care about all the rider aids. No need for ABS, traction control, wheelie control, ride by wire, launch control.... Keep it simple and its great for the track or street! Thanks Suzuki!!
That 85 750 was the best looking 750 ever, those dual headlights , the full fairing..even though it was oil cooled it still had some power. It was revolutionary. I raced a 93 gsxr 750. It had 108 rwhp which wasn't much but it was great on the track
Own a 2001 GSX-R 600 myself, I love it! I'm sad to get off and excited to get back on every time I ride. Since it's too cold right now, I am like a kid on December 24 who can't wait for the next morning!
1988 and 1999 came the RGVs, What a bike those 250s where if you had one in that era. But then people realized about the 500cc RG500 2 stroke road legal. Back in the day a stock standard RG500 would beat all, if the rider knew how to ride it properly. If worked nothing came near them on the road. Two strokes bikes will always be close to my heart as you cant tell. Yo really Needed to grow up in that era to truly understand what us older guys always talk up the 2 strokes. Less traffic on the roads back then more importantly people actually looked out for motorcycle riders unlike today, people to busy on there phones to care about a father ,son or uncle on a bike, Every one has to get home in a rush, Slow Down Every one around the world. 2 STOKES FOR LIFE, Ronnie Mac salute to you
How can you not respect and admire people who think outside the box, these were and are some talented engineers and designers, after all there achievements speak louder than words
I have old Suzuki bike, although I only have small CC bike which is only 125cc. The durability is unquestionable, I bought it in 2006, still using it till late 2018 and the engine never ever have problem. Still have it in garage but I don't ride it anymore...
These men are impressive and i respect them greatly. Still riding the original bikes and at their ages; true bad asses!! I own a K5 750 which has around 50k on it finally and owned since almost new. It has been wrecked multiple times and once well over triple digits. Other than bent and smashed parts it has always ran perfect. Only not self induced mechanical failure to date is the hydraulic chain tensioner. Started sounding like a mini diesel around 27k miles. I checked the the clearances for the valves around 43-44k and still within spec. Original clutch and a bent up mangled Yoshimura TRS bolt on exhaust that sounds better with every new day.. I am a believer, thank you to the Suzuki engineering team for making that happen.
I own a 1985 GSX-R 750. It is the best toy I have ever had. It now wears an R6 shock (the oem one was a pos and worn out ). I run BT 45 tires and it rides beautifully. Once I figure out better mirrors I will just ride it.
I know this is about the GSXR (which I Love) but the poor RF900 seems to always never get any notice. :-( I enjoyed those bikes as well. They were stunning for their time
Like other people, I regret selling my 1988 750J back in 1993 but I have great memories and I felt very alive when riding it. The fastest I had her up to was 125 and it still had a lot more power to spare even at that speed. Even when idling it was a marvelous experience.
Every single one of them who worked on this masterpiece is the HERO !!
Immense RESPECT..

Peter King - lol I had an 87 that handled like shit so needed a steering damper - traded it in for a 1991 model - much better handler
Awesome story. Hats off to these engineers.
Proud to own a '91 1100, which still has all its fairing panels!
if anyone intrested,i have 91 gsxr 1100 up for sale

The best thing on this life is not buying suzuki GSX R but to experience it , ride it , master it, and live with it. That.. something that money can't buy.
Thank you SUZUKI
from the dex tune corporation.
Just bought a 1998 GSX-R 600 SRAD.. this gave me a pretty good perspective on it definitely
Bought my first GS in 1984. Loved it.
That last bit is exactly why I'm going for a K5/K6, thx
Those early generation gixxers will always have a place in my heart, best looking bikr ever with the CBR's a close second. 2 round headlight never should've been abandoned!
1985, a Legend is born. And it is still alive!
i've got a '99 750, other than FI it doesn't have any modern computer trickery, it's quick and agile and puts a bigger smile on my face, every time i ride it than any other bike i've ridden or owned. I'll keep it as long as i can swing my leg over it.
Great video! You did not mention the gsxr 1100wp! W'ell I have one, and I Love it! 👍
this is why I own GSXS 1000 love it every day.

Suzuki GSX R.
(from India)
I did my driving licence with 1Suzuki GSX-R 1100 1996. Great experience !
Love my K5 gsxr 1000.. Plan on keeping it for life!
Brap Genius I got a k6 (2006 gsxr 1000)
My red & white 89 Gixer still probably the most fun bike I ever had
Suzuki = Performance + Durability
I LOVE JAPAN ! ;)
Greetings from Germany !
nice upload, wow that was interesting! it was really really cool to see they were still excited working on it. but the most standout info was by far the fact that all the Japanese EMPLOYEES RACED THEM! THAT IS JUST SO COOL TO HAVE THE ENGINEERS GETTING IN AND COMPETING! the motivation they all must have had, I guess that's why they are all so good.
Own a 1990 GSXR 750, 2003 GSXR 1000. And a 2005 GSXR 750 20th anniversary edition badge number 3322!
Love my 2016 1000, bought it off the floor with only 1 mile, over 1400 now with thousands more to go. What a truly beautiful machine.
GSX-R is the best! I had the 86' 750 and 1100 models, raw and aggressive. The engines sound like perfect distortion when pushed really hard. Loved it!
its a Honor that i can drive one of this masterpiece . thank you Suzuki.
I got the first gsxr from 1986 and i love it 😍
The first GSX-R was from 84, the U.S was late in getting the GSX-R.
Thanks again suzuki for making my favorite bikes ever... Owner of 1989 1990 1991 gsx-r s
Nothing touches that dual round headlight front end
That 85 750 was the best looking 750 ever, those dual headlights , the full fairing..even though it was oil cooled it still had some power. It was revolutionary.
I raced a 93 gsxr 750. It had 108 rwhp which wasn't much but it was great on the track
Own a 2001 GSX-R 600 myself, I love it! I'm sad to get off and excited to get back on every time I ride. Since it's too cold right now, I am like a kid on December 24 who can't wait for the next morning!
Nice.. Suzuki my fav
Till this date, I still think the 2007-08 gsxr 1000 is the most good looking one out of all
Just wow! Amazed by the dedication of it all! Good Job my Favorite brand Suzuki! The King Is Back!
My 2021 gsxr 1000r is absolutely insane
I only ride gsxr.I like all bikes but the Suzuki is reliable and comfortable.
You're missing out. There are a LOT of bikes that are reliable and comfortable. Even a lot more than the Gsxr.
2to4 test drive a ZX-14.
Marty Smith yes if she is the best there is i would. GSX-R forever
What superbikes are more reliable than the GSX-Rs?
I am honoured to own and ride a 2001 GSXR. ❤
I have old Suzuki bike, although I only have small CC bike which is only 125cc. The durability is unquestionable, I bought it in 2006, still using it till late 2018 and the engine never ever have problem. Still have it in garage but I don't ride it anymore...
Had a 2008 GSX-R750 and it was awesome. The handling blew me away and so did the power. Very special bike
It now wears an R6 shock (the oem one was a pos and worn out
). I run BT 45 tires and it rides beautifully. Once I figure out better mirrors I will just ride it.
I know this is about the GSXR (which I Love) but the poor RF900 seems to always never get any notice. :-( I enjoyed those bikes as well. They were stunning for their time
Ryan96se loved my rf900r. First bike I ever owned. Black with a lil' purple.
Like other people, I regret selling my 1988 750J back in 1993 but I have great memories and I felt very alive when riding it. The fastest I had her up to was 125 and it still had a lot more power to spare even at that speed. Even when idling it was a marvelous experience.
This is an awesome evolution. I'd love to collect these.
Take a Look at a TH-camr "Danny the Plumber" he has a great collection and just keeps building
