If you were flying the Enterprise D, it would have taken out the Titan. And that's not even the Generations variant, much less the dominion war Galaxy.
I'm not a big fan of the Odyssey class, but it's far better than the G. It's ugly and weak compared to the modern heavy cruisers. Refitting and recommissioning the D would have been way cooler.
Retro Badger struggled against the Galaxy class and the Sovereign class. These are the two classes that had fish in the ready room. Coincidence? I think not! 🐟 🐠 PS: Great job, Jean-Luc!
Honestly, it shows how much the Federation was pushed during the Borg's first encounter at Wolf, Sector 001-First Contact, and the Dominion Wars when a more 'advanced' vessel struggled against them. One can clearly see how battle-heartened they became at one point when yesterday's enterprise could keep up with the new guys on the block.
I have a video idea for you badger. You could run a tournament between your favourite 10 or so ships in a cloaked defiant. You can watch the battle unfold getting all the glamour shots you want and eventually find which of your favourite ships are best under ai control.
There's contest there mate, even for a hardcore fan of the Excelsior and the Sovereign like me, the Constitution refit IS and ALWAYS will be the prettiest, most stylish and most well thought out starship design. Every line and every surface on that ship serves as an artistic statement!
I think in this instance it comes down to "recognition for services rendered" and nothing else- insofar as without the Titan-A things might have gone somewhat differently
The Enterprise was originally never the biggest, baddest battleship in the fleet. The old Connies were cruisers while there were bigger battleships in service, the A was around with the Excelsiors, and it wasnt really until the B did they start to represent the strongest ships. Also the G as we saw in S3 was fully capable of dishing it out, as the strafing runs had it throwing out I believe 5 phaser shots at once. Matalas said that the Enterprise was originally a ship that always punched above its weight class, so this was a return to that.
@@SimultaneousDarkness Of course it is, but youre missing the point. Just for drama purposes, if you have a hero ship that is always virtually god level power, there is no drama to be had. Enemy power creep gets to the point where we get enemies even more ridiculous than the Scimitar.
Technically we don't know if it's the flagship. Certainly wasn't the flagship by TWOK when it was a training vessel, and we don't know what the A-C were, either. Also, Starfleet went for many decades between the NX-01 and NCC-1701 and between the C and the D without an Enterprise, so it's not even a steady tradition to always have one.
This makes sense, Badger. The Connie III is more or less a medium cruiser, maybe it can be uprated to a heavy(ish) cruiser, so a battleship of the previous generation or so, like the Galaxy, is going to be a challenge. But, the Dominion War Galaxy would undoubtedly defeat the Titan-A, even without quantum. Especially in this game there is such a heavy bias in favor of torpedoes. If two ships are roughly equal, the ship that throws more torpedoes will win. One wonders how the Titan-A does against previous generation heavy cruisers like the D'Kora or Vorcha. How does the Titan-A do against 2-3 Obsidian Keldons?
The Titan A is a good 30 years newer than the Ent-D and even 20 years newer then the Sovereign, so I think the result is pretty fair. The poor NX-01 getting one-shot seemed almost mean, it was almost "kicking a puppy" territory...
Poor Archer 😭 That said, I like the premise that it's the TITAN vs the enterprises. It's been said before, but the battle of earth should totally have cemented the Titan's name as every bit as legendary as enterprise
I'm going against the grain: I see it as the E-G. I get it is the name change, but it is canonical. Remember, the E-A wasn't the biggest when compared to the Excelsior, but it still was the flagship.
The only original parts kept in the Conni refit was the space frame and even that was added to lol its a different ship to be fair but you are correct the power difference is a generation apart .....great as all ways RB 😊
😨Hey Admiral.. huh I did not expect that. gosh.. Guess cause the Titan A is newer, but wow.. would have thought Ent A-D would have did more, For me, calling it the Titan A, no doubt, but the Ent E, well, that was no contest lol. I am surprised at this, but as we saw in the show.. Throw a ship at it and everything goes offline lol. just saying.. think ships with carpets do better than shiny floors lol. just saying.. love the battle Admiral.. Nice tactics also.. !!!😊🖖
Is there an Enterprise G version of the Titan A yet? I’d love to see one with stronger shields and weaponry. For sure needs quantum torpedoes. Yeah we didn’t see it on screen but really, had to have been upgraded that way
I think the result is accurate. However even though this is the “cannon enterprise G” I don’t think the neo constitution 3 deserves the name enterprise. I know it’s harsh but instead of bigger and better, we got smaller and weaker.
This is why the Enterprise G should not be the Constitution III class. Each Enterprise is am upgrade in technology and power. The G, seems like a massive downgrade from the E and F.
@@chrisclark8633 I know you’re not embarrassing yourself and comparing the Constitution-Refit to the Galaxy Class? I was really hoping that you would've used the Enterprise G against the Enterprise E as at least they'd both have quantum torpedoes. Even IF the Enterprise G isn't the Federation flagship (which I highly doubt it is) I still have no doubts that the ship would have been significantly upgraded after everything it went through in Picard Season 3 paired with Seven being the new captain.
They surely upgraded it in dock before it was sent out as Enterprise G. I just can’t imagine they didn’t beef it up a bit if they were going to rename it with such a famous, important ship’s name right?
