    Having had the honor and privilege of being Ray's commentating partner 1994-1999 for the international French market, I have to say that he is the best partner -in every way- one can hope for. A true gentleman, who is generous, considerate, smart, fun, has huge charisma, is comfortable with who he is and is a hell of a play-by-play caller. I second the motion of having him be inducted in the Hall of Fame. A fantastic man! BRAVO RAYMOND!!

    I saw The Rockers vs The Fabulous Rougeaus at the Lake Charles Civic Center in Louisiana in 1988. The Rougeau's were very good at getting heat with the crowd by telling a bunch of Cajuns to "learn how to speak REAL French". Classic. The match was fantastic. Loving these interviews with Raymond! Keep up the good work!

      BeerIsTheTrick I totally agree with your comments, and by the way I think I am speaking on behalf of all the Quebecois when I say that Acadians and therefore cajuns are considered as our brothers, even our extended familly in a way so it was clearly an act to generate heat. Salutations de Montréal mon ami.

    Raymond just comes off as the most down to earth, humble, articulate guy. He was absolutely fantastic in the TV role and did his French commentary and interviews in a super clear style that played to much more than just a Quebecois audience.

    damn i would have loved to heave heard more details about his experience on 9/11. Such as, were they allowed off of the plane, and into the airport, was he able to get his bags, and what happened afterwards, how long was he stuck in New York for. Little stuff.

    • @stephanecourchesne9700
      @stephanecourchesne9700 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Probably right when he did debut. There were a couple of pics with Ray (still a teenager) Johnny and Jacques SR. on local tours. That'd be around 1971 when the Rougeaus actually had their own wrestling promotion rival to the Grand Prix brand that was the Vachons.

  • @johnnyskinwalker4095

    Jacques was like an egocentric little kid. He doesn't mean to stir things up but it happens. That is why he got such into trouble in the WWF. As far as Raymond, he was OK on french PBP but as a french myself I didn't like the style cause he was using a french for France style and that could be grating. Especially since people in France view Wrestling as a joke and Raymond announced in a big smiling style like what he was watching was a joke. So it was awful when there were dramatic moments. Like the whole Bret Hart heel turn stuff.

      Millions of Quebecois understood his french, his dad's or uncle Jean's. ftencgu from France didn't. Color me surprised.

      @@vlada the problem was he is Quebecois but his announcing style was not Quebecois.

    • @HepCatJack
      @HepCatJack 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Raymond wasn't only speaking for the Quebec market but also for the International French market so he had to speak in a more international French so that people in those countries would understand. More recently, Renée Young even had to take classes in International spoken English because she had a bit of a English Canadian accent. This is why you won't see someone speak with a thick Southern Drawl announcing on news networks.
