Both heartwarming and heartbreaking to watch when you realize how many of them have left us too early. RIP Crush, Big Bossman, Macho Man and Ray Combs.

Yes!!! Seeing them in interacting live outside of the show, unscripted and 100% in character, you can see who is able to cut promos and why others are saddles with goofier, relatively speaking, gimmicks.

That's quite a question since Randy wanted it, Shawn wanted it, they even tried them out on some house shows in late 92. There is a taped match that they had floating around TH-cam (at least there was). I think it could've been a fantastic program. It's funny because the Vince McMahon of today obviously doesn't have the same mindset, but the one of 30 years ago absolutely had the mindset of "If you're over 40, I don't want to push you because I need to make new stars". Since Randy was over 40, he thought his use as a draw was rapidly waning (although Randy did carry them through half of a very troubled 1992 admirably at the box office as champion). The Vince of today doesn't seem to care about age (since as of this writing one of his dual world champions is over 40 and the "young guys" on the roster right now are people like Matt Riddle, who is 35).

This is why the 90’s were so great. All these wrestlers stay in character for the most part and go on a show that has a different audience and make it fun. I remember a bunch of WCW guys went on family feud as well. WWE did the weakest link too. Believe it or not these are the types of things that should be done today in order to bring in outside audiences.
Wrestling is waaaayyy too niche of a product today. It is only appealing to a very limited group most of which have been diehard fans for 10,15,20 years plus.
These game shows were so much fun when they would do celebrity crossover episodes. Too bad we don’t see this type of stuff any longer
Agree, Wrestling needs to reach out to more shows like this. Maybe sponsor some heath drinks or HiC for kids.

Vince realised he can make more money from foreign markets, whereas back in the 90s they relied more on the American market therefore they'd appear on American shows like this. WWF really became a big brand globally in the 00s. You look at the popularity of WWE in India, then think about that country's population... too much money to be made that way. Also a lot of these new foreign fans are impressed quite easily, whereas most that witnessed the Attitude Era find modern wrestling bland

He did a clean job on the Raw before Wrestlmania IX. Tatanka pinned him clean in a six man tag. He also lost the IC title to Marty Jannetty on a May Raw, although I guess that wasn't a "clean" job since Mr. Perfect did technically interfere by throwing a towel in Shawn's face.
Holy shit, this is AMAZING! And laws about game shows mean it's not scripted even if they're in character. This is great, this is great. These guys take a lot of shots to the head, and it really shows. This is great.

Well really $20k was a maximum top prize then...wasn't always hit, most of the time it'd be far less than that, as low as $5k on occasion (which was down from the typical $10k offered on the syndicated Feud before the Bullseye Round was introduced). So $20k was mostly there to make it seem like more money was available, when the reality was, they were in major budget mode in what would end up being the final years of this run of the show. So, the comparison isn't completely fair here.

AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton, the New Day, Drew McIntyre, Lashley w/MVP, New Roman Reigns w/Paul Heyman hell the Usos have been outstanding during this Samoan Family line angle, hell Samoa Joe, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn never ending angle that has been complimented by at least 4 legends from the 80s, Matt Riddle, this new Apollo Crews as Nigerian royalty, Edge just returned Fri Night, Karrion Kross with Bordeaux, Adam Cole & Kyle O'Riley, Nakamura is a wrestling legend that Charisma in Japanese should be the word Nakamura, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Rood team. Thats not even the female division.
Hell Bray Wyatt probably the most charismatic man in WWE despite the fact WWE either screws with his work, his angles, his momentum, his title runs etc.... Has more charisma then Boss Man, Tatanka, Repo Man, Crush and his real life father IRS have combined...
I would take the current crop vs the legends as far as intelligence is concerned.

@AmishRiot I'd say that yes, the original Bossman character (especially when he was a heel from 1988-1990) was a prison guard character, but he seemed to evolve into more of a police officer character by the time this was filmed
@@therussianspy5882 that’s because his character is based off of him legitimately being a prison guard for real. He was a prison guard in Georgia however once he got his professional wrestling job with Vince McMahon in the WWE he immediately quit his prison Guard job and did WWE full-time. Prior to him being with WWE he legitimately was a prison guard as well as Wrestling part time in other federations. WWE just used his real life status of his former job as being a prison guard into his WWE gimmick.
Slick is the only one still left from the good guys and all the bad guys are still living. Ray Combs was one of my favorite hosts when I was young. It’s a shame how it ended for him.
Edit: forgot about Tatanka on the team. He’s still throwing tomahawks.
