    I quit weed just over 3 weeks ago, after being a regular and heavy user of it for 13 years. I've been meditating regularly for 5 years and a recent meditation brought me to the realization that it's time to move on. This video just further cements that realization. Thank you, Wim!

      People think it's totally innocent. And it mostly is, especially when compared to most other "drugs". But for real bro, good on you. My little brother did the same 5+ yrs ago, he laughs now and says it's not a bad plant. It told me to quit while I was high.
      Reminded me of your story a bit. Their's a sayin among heavy psychedelic user's. They say, "when you get the message, hang up the phone." It may not be dangerous but it can cancel out your dreams. It depends on the person and that person being honest with their self.(?2 words or 1, hyphen...?)✌

      @@carlosparra8976 no one is saying weed is perfect carlos but the fact of the matter is it has been demonized for decades when we really have little scientific info on the effects it has on our bodies because of wealthy folks lobbying the government for their own good. Weed isn't bad for you if used properly. Wanna know how to best educate the people on proper use? Being open and honest about what weed does and doesn't do rather than using propaganda talking points like it makes you a lazy loser. So I appreciate Wims approach of giving a better alternative because being anti doesn't work and it never has for anything. Banning something doesn't solve problems. You can't run from things forever. Wims approach takes the situation head on with a better solution. I'm sure this is how he approaches everything in life

    • @carlosparra8976

      @@krunkformula I dont completely agree with some of your points. Sometimes people dont know what the heck is good or bad for them. Look at tobacco smokers, obese people or drug abusers. They cant control or regulate themselves, so governments have to ban some things or raise taxes on others to stop people from hurting themselves. Now a new worldwide regulation on vapers is surely coming, because they are proving to be tremendously negative for your health and yet people are using them more and more. Sometimes banning stuff is the only way to stop people from hurting themselves, because these people scream "governments should not interfere with my personal choices" but at the same time they cant seem to exercise their own personal responsibility. Who ends up paying for surgeries and treatments and health costs related to these maladies? You and your taxes. I see your point on weed and lobbying and government campaigns to demonize something. Weed was terribly demonized for a long time when it is not as dangerous as they claimed it was.

    • @krunkformula
      @krunkformula 5 ปีที่แล้ว +60

      @@carlosparra8976 all of the three things you used as examples are not very good to use. Lets start with tobacco. Tobacco became very popular because of reverse propaganda aka marketing which made people think it was much safer than it is. Research shows cigarette use amoung younger generations declining because we know tobacco sucks for you and there is no real benefit. Obviously some will always still do it, banned or not. That brings us to drug abusers, which is a terrible comparison because drugs are in the same boat as weed. Universally demonized with little real education. I think drugs would have less of an impact if we took a different approach rather than banning and demonizing because that is what creates the mystique around drugs which obviously create positive experiences because of the high. It confuses people. I'm not saying drugs are positive, but when one side is telling you they are bad bad bad then you see someone high having a great time and not having all the bad side effects that causes you to question all of the other stuff you heard about the substance. If we were more open and honest and worked more towards rehabilatation I think hard drug use would decline. As for obesity, same as tobacco. Government regulations have allowed corperations to sell us entirely unhealthy food and pass it off as ok for us. Obviously some go overboard with the food, but banning food would not stop that, as that sounds like a mental illness that would need to be dealt with in other ways. Wanna know why vapes are killing people? Because there are a shitload of blackmarket THC carts around that are fucking people up. Its not the legal products that are creating this situation. If people were more educated about whats in those things they would stay away and we wouldn't be having this issue like we are

    • @krunkformula
      @krunkformula 5 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      @@carlosparra8976 your second sentence really says it all. People don't know what the heck is good or bad for them, you are completely right. But at the same time the government does a terrible job of getting people all of the information nessecary to make an educated decision. My argument is if the people were more educated on what was good and bad for them that would be a better approach rather than the government deciding what is good and bad for you and not giving you a good reason why said thing is good or bad.

      How do you know what a lot of people feel? Isn't that just perception bias? Sure people can learn a lot from wim but they can learn from every person they meet. Positive or negative doesn't matter, you always learn. As severely handicapped person I always find it hilarious to see healthy people try to open their minds and be spiritual about everything, since the ones I have met do quite the opposite of what they claim. Being open minded to them seems to be focussing on the positive and ignore the negatives, which is the exact opposite of being open minded. The same goes to people always questioning everything that comes from big companies or governments, it's bias pure and simple. There are no society set limitations, only personal ones. Love reality and you won't need anything else XD

I've healed with psychedelic medicines for the last four years, and these breathing exercises have now taught me how to heal on my own. The first time I tried to follow along with one of your videos I got to breath 25 of 30 and broke down as my spirit, heart, mind, and body opened. I wept strongly for I knew I'd just been taught how to have full access to my physiology, and energy. I could feel it. What Wim talks about - going to his fear. It's very common CBT therapy (cognitive behavior therapy) - the only type of therapy that has been scientifically proven to CURE anxiety and panic disorders and one of the key exercises of getting over fear (anxiety/panic) is exposure therapy - exposing yourself to thing you're afraid of or avoid based on fear. And to abandon things that soothe your fear - maybe you wear HR watch to make you don't have heart attack, or sleep with weighted blanket for anxiety, or maybe you check again and again your doors are locked. In neuroscience Dr. Huberman from Stanford was able to prove the same - facing your fears releases certain brain chemicals that can help treat mental illness. What it does it shows your body in its state of fear that it is in fact NOT dying while it's thinking it is about to, that conditioning eventually gets rids of your brain panicking over nothing! You become conditioned to fear less because most fear is just our brains going cray-cray.

    • @lulularoar7157
      @lulularoar7157 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Anastasia, with respect CBT has been pushed as a panacea purely due to how they record results..it makes for easy pie charts that science likes. To say it's the ONLY therapy that is scientifically proven to heal disordered patents is limited as it's the only one that's had heaps of funding thrown at it!
      Equally with exposure therapy, this is not a one size fits all as your words suggest. Please be aware of how gaslighting this can be for those that don't jive with these types of support, essentially you're supporting the idea that if it doesn't work, it's the clients that is at fault not the type of support or even the therapist ....highly, highly dangerous and damaging for those that have embodied trauma and require far more nuanced support. You can't blame the people for it either, it's just a funny way our brain wires trauma, for those people their brain literally goes into life or death mode, heartrate and blood pressure rises because their body is literally getting physically ready to run for their lives (freeze, flight, fight mode; hormones start to pump into your muscles, more oxygen, etc) because the brain rewired those experiences as life vs death and it can't tell apart you about to be eaten by a bear vs a panic attack.
      People who have anxiety and panic disorders are actually really strong people, their brain literally faces equivalent to near death experience. Unfortunately their brain has been required wrong and has to be wired back the right way through both exposure but in sense of safety.

Weber showed a connection between protestants and better working capitalism. Because they all tried to earn more money and also tried to spend less money for unnecessary comfort.

    When I first try your WH breathing technique, the effect and experience are so great, I could feel my body tingling, my brain oxygenated, my ear ringing, and my hearing heightened. But now the effect is gradually decreases. I used to feel the effect after only 2 session, but now I need to do more than 5 session or more to get the same effect. Is it normal?
    Thank you.

    • @timxiix3864
      @timxiix3864 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      yes it is normal, your body just get used to it. You will have the same physiological effect than before
      you just absorb it differently. I recommend you do meditation which is much more giving. With meditation
      you have the mind and the breathing and i do feel way more relaxed after meditating. Just get used to
      meditation it is really hard in the beginning it takes a while to be good at.

      Oh, so it isn't just me 😅 that's good to know. I never really minded the tingling going away I was just glad I could take a good breath.
      Meditation is very hard. I think I do it alright, but is it better if I try to stay still and not move my eyes while I follow the breath?
      Takes time i guess lol

    • @KeyofDavid5778
      @KeyofDavid5778 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would think that your body is storing oxygen much better in the cells. So that's a good sign. What I would do and have been doing is trying to hold my breath longer at the end of the 30 breaths. Before you hold your breath breathe all the way out and then don't breathe in .....make it a little tougher. Then you know the oxygen saturated in your blood cells and body. Hope that helps ...good luck

    • @cstrox91
      @cstrox91 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have accidentally found a way to get the same experience without breathe in & out 30 times.
      1. Sit / lay (preferably) down, slow and deep full breathe 3 times
      2. Take a full breath like a freediver who wants to go down, and hold
      3. Now this is kind of hard to explain.. Immediately after hold, push the air in your diaphragm with your ab muscle while still holding breath. It's like squeezing a balloon. So our lung will be more expanded this way.
      4. You will feel the effect (tingling, shaking, light headed, etc) slowly increases, keep pushing until you feel it's enough.
      In my experience, I can only repeat the cycle twice.. Third time didn't give me the same effect anymore.
      Could anyone explain what happened?
      For those who wants to try it, please do it in your own risk.

    Some grate Yogi ones said, “If you should do any yoga pose, I would suggest head-standing, the king of yoga poses.” I do it every morning. I’m new to the Wim Hof method and I’m on my forth day of breathing exercise 3 rounds a day with the app and feeling grate, Thank you Wim❣️
