Awesome thanks for sharing. I work in restoration and most of what we do the drywall is cut at 24 inches off floor, sometimes 12. I personally use a Johnston rock ripper to cut all.my sheets in half. If i can get a tool like this in my area it would definitely help speed up things.

I REALLY could have used one of those a few months ago. I had to make several very thin cuts. Smallest was like 1" wide, and it was a PAIN doing it manually. I got it done, but would have been SO much easier with a tool like that.

if you have a contact have them add a scale that you could use to cut the sheet and leave the remainder instead of math or tape measure when you need a piece say 36 and 3/8" and want to do it fast with no mistakes.

It would make a lot more sense to just ship the product with the blades in the storage compartment. The user can install the first set. No need for extra foam packing.
Will this still work on 5/8 after you cut the tapered end off? An Amazon review said that you can’t.

Yes. It should work wonderfully for something like that.
Hi Guy, can I get your professional opinion on something? I had some HVAC workers performing work in my attic, they slipped and pushed a 2’ x 2’ section of drywall through my living room ceiling. When fitting the broken piece back into its original position some of the white drywall paper was torn off around the edges exposing the brown inside paper. They screwed the piece of drywall onto some new wood bracing they installed to support it. Having watched your videos, I know they should have sealed the brown paper with Pro-999 or similar product. Instead, they covered the screws and brown paper with mesh tape and mudded the area. Is that gonna hold up over the long haul, if not, how soon would I discover problems this this method of repair?
The brown paper only bubbles around 20 to 30% of the time. We treat it to avoid having to redo it over and over if it does bubble. So if it hasn’t by now, you’re fine

I should also point out that it still could bubble when they paint. But if it hasn’t once the paint is dry you’re OK

It’s quicker to use the old tape and knife system. “BUYER BEWARE” lmao! That last tid bit of info makes buying this tool make me feel un reassured.
I’ll keep mine and do it the new fast way. This thing is way faster for repeat cuts
Drywall is usually leaning against a wall or laying on the floor, so generally when one is cutting a board of drywall, they only have access to one side of it. This tool requires that the user has access to the front and back of the drywall board at the same time, and that the board is mostly freestanding & upright. That's not how most board is positioned before install. Especially on medium to large projects.
I can see this tool being usefull in certain situations, but for the average DIY'er, I don't see it being all that helpful. That's my .02 about that. Thanks for the video Guy :-)
Actually, us Pros are leaning the drywall out from the wall all the time. How else can we bend that piece over and back cut it like I demonstrated here. I think you’re overthinking it. Thanks

Then don’t. This pro who’s been doing this since 1977 will certainly use it because it’s faster.
It's no good if you have boards stacked on their side it will get in the way.
