    Had one of these about 10 years, still going strong. Great purchase.
    Extra tip, you can use to hold up your head plate for stud walls as well. 👌

    We bought one in France after struggling to board a sloping ceiling. We've done several ceilings since very easily and i can do it alone with part boards as i find full boards a bit heavy on my own. I also used it to fit narrow boards (300mm) between joists. It needed a small mod by screwing blocks onto the arms to lift the boards about 120mm above the arms so they lifted flush to the ceiling between the joists.

    Used one of these recently on a ceiling in an old farmhouse...the ceiling was just over 10ft 6 high and we ended up reboarding between the beams.totally agree it's a game changer..we hired one for a week for about £60...only problem I had was I tripped over one of the legs and had a massive bruise on my knee 😂

    Does the wheel base need to be in that sort of triangle shape at all time when using it, or can you adjust the change how they're positioned and it still be safe to use?

    Got one and it’s amazing! I find that the reel bar likes to bend sometimes tho. And when ya pull the release lever, keep another hand on the wheel otherwise it might bonk ya, learned that the hard way xP do you ever use a T square for cutting the board?

  • @SamM-oh2cx

    The problem in the clip was the clips on the board lifter! You had loaded the board on, laid it back and raised it to the ceiling without pulling the load clips back!

    That’s gotta b easier than trying to pull deadmen prop under the board with one hand whilst trying to balance the board with the other hand to b honest if ur on ur own doing lids I always go for 6 by 3 boards just much more manageable

    Think how slow this is would wind me up. Unless you physically can't lift a board above your head I can't see how this is better than a couple T props made from 2x4's.
    Though I guess this thing would be better for really high ceilings.

    • @PlasteringForBeginners
      @PlasteringForBeginners  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just don't like using props on my own. it kills me ha! But I rarely do plaster boarding so it's probably my lack of technique ha.

    Looks very cumbersome, and then there's the extra labour in dismantling it to remove it from the customers house without scuffing their anaglypta 😂. Then you have to store the thing when not using it! Its an awful bit of junk, suited for DIY'ers at best.May come in usefull on a large site. But in an occupied house! I don't think so. Oh and hope you corrected your mistake at 5.20 😂. Missed a trick there, you could of done a video on how to patch up PB when no joists are available to fix to 😊
