- Super shoutout to Topgunz for being the cause of me spending this money but this monitor is the play for me for a good while. Once we get GPUs that can crush UE5 games at 240 FPS and higher then I will look at the 4K options. For now, I am just enjoying my library of games with an OLED versus what was already a goated display in the ACER Predator with it's Splendor display.

I am not sure from experience, everything I looked up points to no? Also some folks are talking about not needing it because DP supports the resolution and refresh rate so there is that.
So,you get 4k 120hz on xbox on this monitor,why only 60hz 4k on ps5 on this monitor?
Hdmi 2.1 on this monitor is 40gbs,not fully 48gbs,but is enough for everything.😊
@@lupuradu841 no I have to try the full connection, right now I'm 1440P 120Hz on the Xbox, I'll try tonight without my capture card connected and let you know. Honestly all I need is 1440P 120Hz to force College Football to have that higher refresh compared to PS5 where I was seeing 60Hz at 1440P
This monitor does do 120 Hz on PS five you have to enable 1440 P then run the test and the test then it will unlock it and you’ll be able to run it 1440 P

Yea if I ever decided not to step up into a higher end GPU then the games that followed are going to need lower settings year over year to push the monitor whereas 1440P is essentially the new 1080P and even the GTX 1070 is relevant at some level

I really like how these 3rd gen qd oleds look. When I eventually have enough saved up, I would like to get the 4k 32” version to pair with my M2 Max Studio for video editing and photo, I get that OLEDs generally aren’t suited really for productivity but I think they look way better than LCDs for color contrast, which is needed for my editing.
Sounds like it would be a lovely pairing. I haven't hooked up my Mac to it but have done tons of gaming and video editing. My OLED laptop kicked off everything for me.

@@gaurabdas1510 I don't know, they could be correct. I took my headset jack and while setting up mine have ALWAYS had the speaker plugged in
Thanks for reviewing and yes it was hard to find a review for this. 4k would be cool but shoot as an competitive gamer myself that monitor is gonna require a BEAST to run I don’t even think a 4090 would utilize the high refresh rate of a G8 yet so yea I agree with you. I want to upgrade my rig the end of the year and a high refresh rate 2k would be just fine. Honestly people always reviewing the top of the line dawg like many people can just go out and buy it?! Can’t speak for everybody else but I don’t crap money 😂

Does this monitor have 3.5mm input? I need it for an external speaker that i have.
I'm using 3.5mm because I have those nice Logitech Z407 or something like that. Great little speakers, too much bass though 😂
Warranty does not cover burn in, spoke with samsung on this.
This is the biggest problem - the inconsistent answers to this question. half the reps are telling customers yes, half are saying no
this is 3rd gen WOLED with various anti burn in features, u would literally have to torture the monitor to get any burn in
@@141menace which is probably why they are so inconsistent because Monitors Unboxed has been running a torture burn in test for a few months now on a different OLED. This is QD-OLED but I dunno much more about the difference between the two other than the WOLED may look at but better in the blacks but for me this is the best I've ever seen

What picture mode and picture settings are you using with PS5? I bought the monitor for my PS5 after watching your video.
I haven't hooked up the PS5 to it, Eco Mode is what I've been using for the Series X and both desktops though, touched up the sharpness a bit as well
Do you think the 360hz is worth it? I was thinking of going for an 240hz 1440p oled
I mean with the $200 gift card offers and the guarantee of HDMI 2.1 vs 2.0 I wouldn't buy the 240Hz OLEDs. Can't be out here with 144Hz caps on HDMI anymore 😂 I'm past that.
After 144hz, your eyes won't tell the difference, least least I don't.

Yea I noticed a minor bump at 165Hz from 144Hz then a big bump at 240Hz and negligible from 240-275Hz. 360Hz was lnt bad but OLED took the cake it was a bit more fluid than 275Hz when it came to hit markers on R6
The advertising on HDMI 2.1 for consoles is a bit misleading. You DO need it to get over 60hz, however the GAME has to support it too. The Madden game you're playing is 60hz, and NCAA Football you mentioned ( I'm very excited for it as well ) has already been confirmed to max out at 60hz. There are very few Xbox games that actually support 120hz+ .
Here is a list of games (link below) I had found I also would note that the Series X supports 120Hz oin the interface and not just in game which is where it differs from my PS5. I played Madden 24 on both and in game it's not a competitive advantage but noticable difference in smoothness in the games when toggling performance mode. The there is the FPS Boost feature on the Xbox ups the older titles like Mad Max which I just picked up to 120Hz without the developers input. Im not sure why PS5 went that route but i was relieved when they got 1440P support and games started looking so much better because I was playing Madden '22 on there with 1080P 60Hz, they nailed HDR though and I don't think the Xbox does it unless you're monitor can do the best 4K settings which I wasn't seeing on mine (could be due to the EVGA XR1 Pro capture card).
1440P 120Hz is avaialble on HDMI 2.0 but 144Hz is the cap when using a PC which is what I mainly play on so dropping from 270Hz on my old monitor down to 144Hz is jarring and feels like everything is stuttering. Lastly while playing games I turn on the monitor refresh rate in the top corner to verify and FC '24 was 120Hz and I know this works because some games were in fact only 60Hz.

Drop the link for the confirmation if possible for the (NCAA) EA College Football '25 refresh rate, I asked multiple times in the forums and via social and never got an answer so I am assuming that it'll be 60Hz like Madden '24 and prior have been on PS5 and 120Hz on Xbox... It's a gamble and I could be wrong but hey
@@FIVESTRZ With hdmi 2.0, IN GAME, the console will scale the graphics down to 1080p or 1440p as low as 60fps normally slightly above with a 2.0 connection because of the speeds it’s transferring data and the console just can’t handle native 1440p at 120fps with 2.0 and give both the frame rate and graphics so it will scale down, it will only give true native 1440p 120hz and not scale down with a hdmi 2.1cable AND hdmi capable monitor.
@@FIVESTRZ Can't find a direct link but they said it would have the same performance as Madden and Madden is again, not true 120hz. It's simulated.
I've never heard of similuted refresh rates though, when I use the PS5 and VRR mode I take that at face value for it being 60-120Hz and even the 120Hz 45FPS mode is smoother than something like 60Hz. I am not a console pro, mainly a PC guy and HDMI 2.0 pushes 144Hz at 1440P native and the Xbox Series X pushes the dashboard and overall interface at 120Hz. Also the link I sent you states Madden at 120Hz on the list and I have owned the Madden '22 on PS5 right after playing on XSX when I had one before and immediately noticed a difference in fluidity.
End of the day even if the refresh rate is 120Hz and the frame rate in game is 60Hz and that is what's happening, I would take that over the PS5 experience which after 2-3 matches is fine but feels laggy when you do A/B testing.

I grabbed the 4 year Geek Squad at Best Buy, I've seen people posting that the 3 year covers burn in, and I've seen people say it doesn't. Both sources were Samsung reps 😂

It's a driver update and I set the GPU to 10-bit and 60% vibrance
1) Download the drivers from Samsung which will install the drivers and Samsung's Color profile, then turn off eco mode and set the Picture mode in the monitor settings to Graphic and also bump the color from 25 to 30

No built in speakers or Smart TV functionality. I use it with my Marshall Kilburn II speakers, it does have a line-in port if you want to control the volume from the monitor.

Monitor might fit in a suitcase but for sure not the box unless you get something oversized. As far as packaging this monitor is in line with many of the standard Samsung packaging, you'd never know there was a fire ass $900 monitor inside judging from the outside. Where are you from?

Nah, looked under panel care and only saw Pixel Refresh and Logo Brightness.
I don't believe this monitor is 4K as you stated... it's more like 2K (in between FHD and UHD... this is QHD). I have this monitor as well.
I'll have to to try to see if it shows up as possible without using my capture card. Right now I am using passthrough 1440P 120Hz. If the bandwidth supports it, typically the monitor will allow you to output 4K
*I also did mention the G8 OLED which is a 4K 240Hz, when I talked about not going with that one
This is not a 4K monitor, it's QHD (1440P) which is what I prefer actually because you don't worry about performance issues anymore as it's not as taxing on the GPU as 4K yet still looks great. I have an nVIDIA RTX 4090 in my Alienware m16 laptop and games like Cyberpunk are very demanding so 2K is the perfect balance between resolution and eye candy
@@super.spartan that part! You can actually flip on the 4K 60Hz which I made a third video about by disabling adaptive sync. Works pretty well on the Xbox Series X but like you mentioned, I still prefer the 1440P 120Hz mode
I currently own the Acer predator 1440p 240hz.do you think I’ll notice a difference if I were to upgrade?
From LED/LCD to OLED yep, immediately but not necessarily from the standpoint of the refresh rate. My Acer Predator was the 270Hz one with the LCD display. Fire monitor overall

@@3_kids_one_shot726 yea it's a no contest of whether or not you will see the difference. Like I mentioned it's like cranking the vibrance or saturation all the way up BUT there is no bleeding of the colors and the blacks are a pure black. PLUS it's 360Hz lol
@@3_kids_one_shot726it’s even a lot faster not because of the 360hz but because OLED has instant pixel response time, it’s like yours is 6 Ms this one is under one. Plus the deep blacks, peak brightness and everything else a no brainer

I watched a bit of Warcraft for contrast from Haunting of Hill House and here what I can say from my perspective. I just bought an LG B4 OLED (my first 4K TV and first OLED TV) this thing looks great in comparison to that, there is a little bit of room for improvement but the colors during explosions on Warcraft didn't bleed out or look bad and the blacks and dark corners looked fantastic and not crushed which my last monitor didn't really handle blacks and shadows too well for the handful of times I watched video on it. I'm not a viddeophile though so some folks are probably going to have more useful opinions than me on this topic. Again to my eye AMAZING and nothing that jumps out at me.

I had the asus pg27aqdm something oled. Avoid it…the burn in happened within the first month. It’s total garbage. Have I made the right choice with this monitor?

From what I've seen yes, I'm not a monitor guy but also would never buy an Alienware unless it was providing good value. Seems that the HDMI 2.1 on that Alienware only does 144Hz which would kill me lol. Something on the G6 where you can select AV/PC for the output

Via displayport no I haven't, there was this one time today but I was on the desktop and had just switched over to the PC from the xbox also being on so I think that had something to do with it. Stay tuned, people also mentioned that if there was going to be a problem to have this one would be the one you want because it's just a firmware update type of fix.

All OLEDs have VRR flicker, however, that mostly happens when the framerate differs a lot. So just cap framerate around your minimum at say 144, so it doesn't go from 120 to 360fps all of a sudden.
Or just play on a fixed 120Hz, as it only occurs in VRR with highly fluctuating framerates.
