This really helped me . I had this surgery a month ago and i watched this before i had it. At two weeks i got off crutches, at 3 weeks i was driving and out of my brace and now its been a month and im exercising . If your reading this and are in fear of the surgery dont be everybodys recovery is different just be strong !
I just had my acl/lcl surgery yesterday and want to share my experience. Before the op I was watching so many youtube videos to mentally prepare for whats to come. I’m back home today and I can honestly say the pain is not as bad as I expected. My consultant injected anaesthetic in my leg post op yesterday which gave me a good nights sleep. It’s worn off today and there is some slight discomfort but nothing major. I appreciate we all have different thresholds and recovery times but just want to share my experience so far with anyone who has the op coming up. Good luck all!
3 month update - Met with my consultant a few days ago and he’s given the green light to start jogging and doing spin classes again 🙏🏽 doing home exercises given to me by my physio have played a major part in my recovery!
I had this surgery 6 years ago. Kinda felt like I relived the experience again with this video. So truthful. I will say my knee feels better than ever. Physical therapy is important. You must give it your all. There's going to be a moment when you realize dang I gotta learn how to walk again, but best believe you will have the utmost respect for being able to use your legs. Life without use of your legs is difficult. Mad respect for those who don't have that opportunity anymore. Good luck to anybody going into or coming out of surgery. The first week sucked not going to lie. It ultimately gets better. So stay strong.
Just had TKR a week and 1/2 ago. The first few days were murder. Couldn't sleep, constant pain. The pain meds helped somewhat but had stomach upset and extremely constipated. This week not taking as many meds, less pain and stomach issues are better. Walking with a walker and the knee is bending slightly. Had therapy the other day, a little painful but tolerable. Everyday it gets a bit better and better.
I sit here and watch the videos of what I’m going to endure is devastating. I tore my ACL, minuscule, and have impacted fractures all on my right knee from a motorcycle accident. I’m glad I’m alive but as an active 42 y/o who works out, trains with my kids to do extra work in baseball and softball, and I play ball too only to be thrown a wedge and not do anything for a while kills me. Thank you for sharing your experience
I had surgery a little over 2 months ago. If anyone who is reading this is nervous about surgery, I’ll tell you a little bit about my experience with it. Before they wheeled me off the to operation room, they gave me some kind of medicine that relaxes your brain, and it works VERY well. I remember the relief I was in after they gave it to me. Once they give you the anestesia, it feels like you blinked and surgery is over. I was in the operating room for about 3 hours, and it felt like one second. In the recovery room, I was EXTREMELY tired, and my throat was very dry. They gave me some water and a ginger ale to help. I was in quite a lot of pain after, but it went away after a few days. Even though it seems scary, its not as bad as you think it will be. ❤
Good to know! My surgery is scheduled for the 27th. Tore the ACL a bit along with the meniscus in a soccer match a little over a month ago. At 42 I've been playing indoor soccer for the past 14 years and it finally happened. Ugh. Looking forward to getting it over and done with and starting recovery and maybe getting back into soccer!
@@desertmike680 Michael it’s going to suck! Worse pain in the world! Best advice take your medication during the first week. That first week is a nightmare 😢
My knee has been locked for 7 months. Was a grade 2 meniscus tear then I fell directly on that knee,on concrete.I see a surgeon next week.I’m ready to walk again honestly.
I had acl reconstruction 3 weeks ago and pain is not that bad as you think . The surgery finished in blink of an eye and then you are put into recovery ward and you are allowed to drink water and eat some food few hours after the surgery. When the anaesthesia wears down your leg starts paining badly and swells like hell ,ice packs helps a lot .The next day when I was allowed to walk using walker by physiotherapist I almost fell on the ground due to dizziness and nausea pain was severe but it was bearable and goes away as day pass ,its week 3 and I am almost walking without crutches and have achieved knee bending of 110 degrees. Just keep going guys you will surely overcome this phase ❤
Just had my acl / meniscus surgery yesterday. Acl was torn Completely and meniscus partial. Pain pain right after surgery was very bad. Last night trying to sleep was unbearable. Couldn’t sleep much at all and was up all night moaning. Today so far has been better knee still very swollen and very painful. Pain is manageable when muscles aren’t spasming. Just had muscle relaxers ordered in so hopefully tonight I can get some sleep. I’ll keep updating you all as I go on this journey.
I've had two surgeries this year [both in my right knee] and I felt significantly less pain after the ACL-Meniscus surgery in comparison to the osteochondroma incision I had in July. The aftermath of the tumor removal was truly painful; and if I was to quantify it... the pain I felt was at least 3x more intense.
I got my ACL surgery a week ago and it’s been a struggle. It’s mentally and physically exhausting. Tomorrow is my follow up appointment. I’m feeling a little better today and after watching this, you give me hope.
Great job Jaylen! Its been 3 weeks 4 days since my surgery, I can walk for short distances but still have my crutches, feeling the progress makes us all smile with releif, I totally get you! And yeah, first week is always hell lol!
I had my surgery exactly one week ago and I can confidently say that the recovery process is about the most painful and difficult thing I’ve ever had to go through my entire life. I don’t know why I wasn’t scared going into surgery..I thought it was going to be easy but I was sooo WRONG. I cried simply going to the restroom which mind you, is right next to my room. I took the prescribed medication religiously & it wasn’t effective at all. All it did really was make me nauseous and constipated! Some tips I have though: smoke WEED or take CBD if that’s something you’re open to, ice 24/7, eat along with medication, if pain is unbearable (like it was for me) take ibuprofen in between doses, and finally RELAX. Listen to music and jam out, watch a movie, or read, etc.. while using the RICE method. I listened to music and danced in place for the first time yesterday and I felt like myself again. As days go by, you will start to feel okay. Not great, but definitely better. Not going to lie, I’m still suffering but not as bad as the first couple of days! So progress right? We can do this!!
I tore my ACL MCL PCL and my meniscus. After surgery I had to relearn how to crawl and walk again. 2yr rehab recovery n it was worth it. I pushed my knee to the limit and went back to high impact sports performance.
My first tear was at 15, 25 yrs ago. I'm 40 now. I fully tore my ALC at 39. I was walking around no problems up til my surgery. I stayed as active as I could. I got surgery December 1, 2021. Today is day 6 and I took my bandage wrap off. I feel fantastic! My knee has minimal swelling. I stopped my meds for Norco yesterday. I feel a thousand times better after not taking it. I feel human! No longer lethargic. I have my follow up appointment tomorrow. I had an ACL replacement from a cadaver. I will be writing my thank you letter to the family this week. Merry Christmas and strength and healing to all you recovering!!! 💝🎄🎅🎁
Thanks for sharing. I’m 40 as well and will be getting ACL and MCL repair op in January. Also, like you, I went had an ACL repair op on the other knee way back in 2002 using a patella graft. I’m a little worried that my age may have a negative impact on the recovery this time around. Did you do anything leading up to surgery or immediately after to have such a strong recovery?
Can you help me so how do you know when u have a acl complete torn are u not able to walk or what ? Bc I twisted my leg and the side of my knee hurts like a sharp pain I can walk but I keep limping and it’s been over a month
Just did it today, Anterior acl reconstruction + medial meniscus repair. It is a bit painful but with some painkillers you will be fine, Day by day you will get better. Goodluck with your recovery🙏
Now can you imagine not having this treatment just because you're poor. Universal healthcare is a right. No kid should be WITHOUT health-care because of lack of money. That physical therapy is extremely expensive but necessary. Poverty shouldn't be the reason people don't get quality healthcare.
Look, we found the people who don't understand how economies work! If you make it a "right", you'll crush all of the innovation that would occur. People over-consume things, including (and especially) health care. Do you ever wonder why everyone comes TO the U.S. for health care from other countries? Shorter waits, better physicians, better equipment.
@@lytening79 literally everything you said was wrong. Other countries have far better health outcomes than the United States especially if you look at Britain and all of the UK including Europe. Germany has a far better health care system and far better healthcare rates. Would you fail to understand is once you give everyone access to health care the types of healthcare treatment that they need is reduced because they're able to catch things early. The current system people wait till the last minute and then they need a major surgery which is very expensive
@@brandonchristopher9657 Define "better health outcomes". You need to check how long you have to wait for surgeries in the UK (google "UK heart surgeries wait). Info released 90 days ago (very recent) shows that 1 in four patients have to wait over FOUR MONTHS for their heart surgery. That same thing can be extrapolated for virtually any other procedures. Some people point to "prescription costs" being higher in the U.S. That is true, but only because the drug companies are forced by agreement with those countries to set cost ceilings. The net effect is to have American citizens pay for the R&D of the drugs. Don't get me wrong, drug companies are shady and can be evil as heck (see what Purdue did with Oxycontin, for instance). But telling me that "everything I said is wrong" is really barking up the wrong tree. I've been studying this stuff for years. My father was an independent pharmacist (those guys get screwed all of the time by the government and the drug companies), and I've done two stints on the Hill (one on the House side and one on the Senate side). When I was on the House side, I assisted in some of the HHS stuff. The Universal Health Care push is nothing more than trying to centralize more power. It will crush innovation
@@brandonchristopher9657 If you google "over-consume health care" you'll find a TON of articles on the subject. I suppose that Harvard Business Review isn't a good enough source for you? hbr.org/2014/12/how-to-stop-the-overconsumption-of-health-care Since that was something I said, and you said that "literally everything [I] said was wrong", I'd like to know how HBR is wrong (as well as the hundreds if not thousands of other articles on the issue).

Hey guys, just had my 2nd ACL reconstruction 2 days ago. (On the same knee) currently on day 3 and can confirm pain is sore, but it helps knowing it’s only temporary. Anyone out there going through the same thing, just know tomorrow will be better. Bring on day 4
Time difference between both ACL injuries? And why do you think it happened again like did you go back to sports in less than 9 months or something like that?
Had acl surgery on my left knee on September 20, 2021. It’s a month after my surgery and I’m already walking. Once u get to that point you gain motivation and confidence to keep going. The first month is the hardest, u get past that and your on the track to recovery
I got mines on the 12th but my luck is just soooo good 😐 I got a blood clot and a hematoma 24 hours after surgery was in and out of the Er and childrens hospital , had 5 visits in the first week after surgery so you can see the pain I was in , it’s now day 16 I believe and I still have my blood clot I take blood thinners daily for this first month to see if it goes Down I go to school on the 2nd I don’t have as much pain as I did in week 1 and 2 but my pain is coming from the stitches part and a little from the blood clot other than that I’m ok , idk when physical therapy starts for me still super hard to move my leg forward I can move my ankle up and down and put pressure on it but super weak still

I tore my ACL, sprained my MCL and sprained my LCL at the same time about 4 weeks ago. For my ACL, I'm not recommend surgery for at least 6 months. I'm quite glad that I don't really need to get surgery and i can just recover on my own. Although, I don't know how long I'll be on crutches for. I just know that I appreciate my legs a LOT more than I ever have. You really don't know what you have until it's gone. Especially having this need for people to help if I drop something at school or home is really embarrassing. I also can't help people physically at all. It's so frustrating and I do have this feeling like I'm trapped. All I know is that I just have to keep working on my physical therapy exercises and I'll get to be independent again eventually.
I am 23 for comparable measures. I had ACL, meniscus and MCL surgery with a bruised knee cap 2 years ago. It was the worse pain i have ever experienced and i have a very high pain tolerance. Was peeing in a bottle for almost a week as i physically couldn’t take the pain of moving it in the slightest. I took physical therapy extremely serious and had a very good physician. After about a year i was at or very near what i was at prior to my ACL tear and even played basketball at pretty much at the same level maybe just a bit slowed. Fast forward to today 2 years later i just had ACL and Meniscus surgery on my other knee (yes they got both of mine sadly) from playing basketball again. I told my doctor and all my friends that will be the last time i pick up a basketball as it’s not worth going through this again. However i had surgery less then 12 hours ago and it is not nearly the same pain although i used the same surgeon because of how well my first ACL healed. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m used to the pain, know exactly what not to do and what to do, or if it’s just a case by case but i expected the worse pain imaginable like last time but i am already walking (on crutches) to the bathroom and as long as I’m taking my painkillers and icing it the pain isn’t really bad at all. I share my story to show that if i can do this TWICE anybody can. YOU can do this. Your brain is a powerful tool don’t let it physic you out. You are much more powerful then you believe. Good luck all !!
I had my surgery around 3 weeks ago (21st March, 2021) I was playing soccer and a guy pushed me when I was taking a shot and my right feet stuck the ground really hardly and I tore my acl at that time. I didn't even thought I had this big injury till the next one month, bcoz I wasn't able to run properly, or play properly. So finally I consulted a doctor and got to know that it's an ACL tear. I was really shocked bcoz, till now, I had read many REAL soccer players get injured by acl tear, and they had to stay out for 7-8 months. So I knew it won't be easy. The day of my surgery was difficult. I was nervous and these nurses were constantly giving me some or other injections. Thankfully I am not afraid of them. Then I was taken into the operation theatre, and I was really nervous when I saw the operation theatre for the first time in my life. The atmosphere around that room made me scared n uneasy. Thankfully, my doctors were really really nice and skilled and confronted me. They gave me an Anaesthesia shot in my lower back, after which I had a constant tingling sensation throughout my lower body after 2 mins. Slowly slowly, my entire feet went numb and I couldn't lift them or do anything with them. But the anaesthesia made me really uncomfortable. I was feeling nauseous and uneasy. I felt that i wasn't able to breathe properly. So i told my doctor about this, and he gave me an oxygen pipe, which didn't work out well for me bcoz i was still feeling breathless and nauseous. So he just calmed me down and gave me a sleeping shot, which was like a boon for me. I slept after 1 min and the moment I woke up(1.5 hour later) the surgery was over! I was happy at that moment bcoz I slept throughout the imp process and it was painless due to the anaesthesia.... But slowly slowly, as the anaesthesia was going away from my lower body, I started feeling the pain from my surgery in my right knee... The first night was very uncomfortable and painful. I wasn't able to sleep for the entire night in the hospital and got a little bit sleep at 4am in the morning. I was really dependent on my mom to do all the things. I'm really thankful to her for being with me. But fortunately, the pain wasn't so effective after the day 1. It had reduced significantly and I got better sleep on the second night. And then I was discharged and I came back home. What I noticed is that, in my case, the intense pain was only there during the day of surgery. After that, the pain reduced a lot and now it's basically painless, except when I'm doin my physiotherapy exercises and my knee is bent to certain angles... It's been 3 weeks but I'm still not able to walk and put full body weight on my right knee. Maybe in 4 weeks time i could probably walk and climb stairs. This was a new experience for me and I learnt a lot of new things about myself during this period. Most importantly, take really good care of your body coz you don't wanna end up in an hospital 🏥 It's not easy there ◼ Thank you!
Hold on strong 💪, last week I also had same operation with right acl and meniscus , I’m in the recovery period right now, yes I agree that we need to take good care of our body . We will recover just need time slowly but surely . 😊🙏🙏🙏
@@TV5V I'm much better now... It's been more than a year now. I'm able to walk, climb stairs, run fastly and most importantly : Play football once again. I can't live without football... Get yourself a good physiotherapist who'll guide you properly and help you in this tough duration. 💪
I've had 5 surgeries on the same knee beginning with a total ACL tear at 14, 21 years ago. Well just 6 weeks ago I had another ACL repair as my repaired ACL was loose and I will say recovery was so much easier at 14! It's no joke this time around. I was on pain meds a lot longer this time and I still have crazy pain some days. Progress doesn't feel as quick but I'm still meeting general goals. Hoping to get back to it again soon!
Hi can you provide info about how did it became loose? Some high activity maybe? And in all these 21 years, did you felt any shortcomings using your legs or was it like "eh its brand new just like before" feeling?

I had this surgery in april and i was not afraid at all and the pain after it was also not much. But the real struggle is the rehab. it goes so slow and all your friends can do anything they want like soccer or just running. Am almost there to full recovery. My advice is: 1.do the exercises that docters gave you 2. don't lay a pillow under your knee( I know it feels alot nicer) because it will get stiff as hell, everytime you stand it wil hurt to get that fully stretch again. 3. go to the gym for the rest of your live to strengten the knee so it will never torn again because those chanses are high after surgery. Well hope all of you get a good surgery and rehab.
First week after ACL is hell is truth.. I had that surgery 2 month ago. I live alone I got no one to take care of me. First week I really thought I was going to die it’s so painful🥹 but you start feeling better after second week. If I did it I know you can, you got this❤️
I just found out today I might have torn my ACL, I'm a volleyball player and was already injured all over my body both knees and both arms with severe inflammation but still played bc it was the nationals finals and my other very important teammate also had a severe ankle sprain so my team was relying on me, I twisted my knee in the second set after having played outstandingly but bc my knees were already weak it was easy for them to give out, I'm 2 months away from taking my college entry exams and my family expects me to be a doctor and I do as well but it's really hard to study when all I can think of is the surgery I'd have to get after exams and how I won't be able to attend classes normally and even miss the entire next season, I'm praying for anyone who has ever had to go through this and I'd really appreciate it if you would pray for me as well ❤️ and Alhamdulillah for everything I still have some hope.
I understand it’s not the same experience for everyone but when I had it done I left the clinic walking with crutches the day after. I had no pain whatsoever, the only hard part about it for me was mental, you have to keep yourself motivated and keep working the results will slowly come
Tore my acl while playing basketball. But I cannot get surgery right now. Have about 8 months of med school left. I have to wear a brace whenever I go outside.
I just got my acl done 10/7/2020 and it’s 10/19/2020. I have no problem walking with out crutches up or down the stairs. The best advice I can give for this type of surgery is to take pre op physical therapy serious. The better your quads are pre op the smoother your recover will go. Also the pain is only temporary it’s nothing you can overcome.
I had a torn acl in 1996 ,I had micro surgery . In the hospital at 8 a.m. out of the hospital by 1 p.m. crutches and some pain meds for a week . I did not need physiotherapy.I was back at work in 3 weeks walking and doing everything great no problems no pain. Even the first week after 48 hours I only took extra strength Tylenol and Advil . I was given a certain amount of exercises to do at home . In all everything went beautifully. Other people I know that had the same surgery also had excellent results. So, thanks to Lakeridge health .Durham region ,Ontario, Canada. I had a great recovery and the surgeon and assistants did a fantastic job.
I’m 10 days post OP (ACLr with quad graft). Can’t lift my leg up at all right now but I’m getting flexion. Can’t wait to start my physio and get even stronger than before. Thank you for posting this 💯🙏
Had this done 2 times on the same knee and 8 MCL surgeries on the same knee...the MCL was by far the hardest. 2nd ACL was done well and was an easy recovery. 11 ops on the left knee its great...however. i recently ruptured my achilles! I had ACL surgery 3 weeks ago, and I don't have any pain, but when I walk, I feel a little pain in my knee. I think my recovery is going well because I can relate completely to what was explained in the video, and also to other comments. I don't know if I'll be able to play professionally again, but it feels like the pain is there. However, it's more of a mental trauma, even knowing that I'll be fine. I'm happy that I now understand the value of my leg, and I believe that whatever happened, it happened for good.

Just got news this morning I fully torn mine .. being suggested to surgeons now . Today is horrible . Can’t wait for this “unbearable pain” everyone speaks of post OP
Yep I had this surgery 5 years ago… complete rupture of my ACL, PCL and meniscus. Absolutely was terrible going through recovery. I slacked on my knee bends and breaking scar tissue so the PT specialist tricked me and ended up breaking all of my scar tissue, which hurt more than tearing it in the first place. But you get through it, you work it every day and then one day you look back and say wow that really sucked but I’m through it. Take it day by day, don’t give up and it will be painful but it’s all for good reason to eventually be running again and enjoying life
Can u do intense exercise now? I mean I had acl reconstruction 2 weeks ago and i am not feeling pain anymore . My pain was gone like 3 to 4 days post surgery and now I can bend 120°+ my knee. I actually have an intense urge to join the defence forces, and that's why I need some recommendations
@@jeetendrajoshi4369 Hey sorry I didn’t see this until now. Oh yeah I have ran miles and miles on it and even gone snowboarding multiple times. Once you heal all the way you just start living life like you did before and you don’t ever think about how your knee isn’t the same anymore. There has been times where I will walk up stairs or bend down to grab something (I have genetically terrible knees) and my knee will move in a bad direction and I get sharp pain and I start thinking about the times when I’m snowboarding or doing an intense activity such as hiking and how I could just tear it again and that it’s scary. But like I said you don’t think about it while your doing the activities. Just take it one day at a time with recovery and always remember to push yourself in rehab but not too much. Rehab will hurt but it’s for a reason.

Going through this surgery for a second time. First time was my right knee. Now it's my left knee. Trying to stay positive but I'm pretty devastated that I have to go through this again.
I torn only my acl and was able to walk without crutches 6 days after the surgery. I did every exercises which were recommended by the doctor. Now my knee was able to bend more than 90 degrees.
My knees are fine, but it hurt to even imagine going through that. Strong young lady will do fine with that attitude. Protect those knees and never take them for granted.
I met with an accident in August 2023 Got an MRI Reports said I had torn ACL, meniscus and some more. Doctors said to get an operation. Did physiotherapy for a month. Was able (still able) to walk without any pain and do normal activities. Got another MRI in May 2024. Healed everything except for the ACL. Don't know should I be happy or sad. Got this at a young age of 17 and I feel like I am not able to keep up with the people around my age like run, jump etc. I know I can run/jump but there is a fear at the back of my mind. I feel my knee is stable but I just don't know what to do. My friends had surgery and they say they feel pain which I don't. I really don't know what to do.
I have torn my ACL twice, if you knee feels fine I would not get surgery. I got surgery, reinjured 1 year later, went 1 more year then tore my meniscus and got surgery again, it has been 5 months since the second surgery and I an at 50% of my former strength in my leg.
I don't have this surgery but had a operation on my left knee 4 days back because of a bike accident. It was a mild surgery. My pettela legament has cut 1/4 and to be honest it's hearts and you know the worst part it feels so bad to even think about it. By the way, your videos give me hopes that everything will fine. Thank you (it really a bad experience) :(
I just had the knee surgery 8 days ago the pain is so bad for me still when she said excuse me to the dog walking in crutches i laughed because thats me all day everyday with my dogs
I'm laughing while tearing up reading all the comments! I have a torn ACL and I don't wanna go through hell! :( Guess there is hope and light and the end of the tunnel but dang, several days of potential crying level pain non stop? How do you all do it??
I felt the same way prior to my surgery. One thing I have come to realize is that pain is subjective. I started walking with no crutches at day 8 post op. I stopped taking the pain meds at day 4 post op. Just take your pre op therapy serious and just remember that the pain is only temporary and it’s nothing you can’t overcome.
I have acl , mclbsince 10 years ago, never did the surgery because doctor told me, no need just do meniscus, but as I said, years go by and it is worst,… I can’t run, play soccer, hiking….. so, I’m scheduling a visit to the doctor and I believe I must go troughs this. I got rotator cuff 8 month ago and it was horrible too… I’m just afraid this could be even worst, but I want my life back.
You described my son’s surgery last week to a T!! After the surgery and medication from surgery wore off it’s like everything hit him like a ton of bricks. It’s so good to see you up and recovering and kicking that ACL butt!!! Good job sis!
I have my surgery scheduled for next week to repair my torn ACL and lateral meniscus with a graft from my hamstring. I’m super nervous because I’ve never been under anesthesia before and I should not have googled what can go wrong 😞. The internet is the devil 😂. Otherwise, I’m hopeful after watching some of these videos.
Tearing and ACL and MCL and a bucket tear of the meniscus is absolutely no joke. But going through reconstructive surgery is and absolute nightmare of pain and rehab. I did it alone and took care of myself. And I would not ever recommend that to anyone.
Had my ACL reconstruction Surgery 3 days back. It is still paining like hell. All the antibiotics and painkillers have made me constipated. I cried a lot after the surgery, after coming to home, while going to washroom, I feel to have forgotten how normalcy felt like. Hope better days are ahead of me.
I use this to inspire me to not take 7 weeks to walk again. This is a slow recovery and I hope all yall in the comments push to be walking decently by week 4
This really helped me . I had this surgery a month ago and i watched this before i had it. At two weeks i got off crutches, at 3 weeks i was driving and out of my brace and now its been a month and im exercising .
I'm going to get the surgery in few days, can you tell me your entire surgery experience and the recovery period untill now
Best of luck man recover soon 👍

Now can you imagine not having this treatment just because you're poor.
Universal healthcare is a right.
No kid should be WITHOUT health-care because of lack of money.
That physical therapy is extremely expensive but necessary. Poverty shouldn't be the reason people don't get quality healthcare.
I know right
Look, we found the people who don't understand how economies work!
I suppose that Harvard Business Review isn't a good enough source for you?
hbr.org/2014/12/how-to-stop-the-overconsumption-of-health-care
Since that was something I said, and you said that "literally everything [I] said was wrong", I'd like to know how HBR is wrong (as well as the hundreds if not thousands of other articles on the issue).

I am in 5th day of after acl surgery and what you said in this video is absolutely correct and believe me I am feeling the same
I am 23 for comparable measures.
I had my surgery around 3 weeks ago (21st March, 2021)
I was playing soccer and a guy pushed me when I was taking a shot and my right feet stuck the ground really hardly and I tore my acl at that time.
Most importantly, take really good care of your body coz you don't wanna end up in an hospital 🏥 It's not easy there ◼
Thank you!

I had this surgery in april and i was not afraid at all and the pain after it was also not much. But the real struggle is the rehab. it goes so slow and all your friends can do anything they want like soccer or just running. Am almost there to full recovery.
My advice is:
1.do the exercises that docters gave you
2. don't lay a pillow under your knee( I know it feels alot nicer) because it will get stiff as hell, everytime you stand it wil hurt to get that fully stretch again.
3. go to the gym for the rest of your live to strengten the knee so it will never torn again because those chanses are high after surgery.
Well hope all of you get a good surgery and rehab.

@@shahidganie1873 hi Shahid , how are you. I have parial ACL grade 2.
Hang in ther folks...grit your teeth and hold your head high...were survivors!!✊🏻
I feel that! Had a internal knee ligament tear 7 months ago it was so terrible the first days and yeah first 2 weeks because i also lived on the couch cause i couldnt get up the stairs but now since I got through the most exhausting recovery process i gained my strengh back!
Just had my surgery today, I feel like crap but this video has mentally made me in ease. I had to wait 5 years to get my ACL surgery but it is wroth every pain 😊
what took it so long? Wishing you well mate
@@josephteves the NHS in the UK is crap, I had to go private at the end
@@priyeshpatel7892 I kinda agree
I had ACL surgery 3 weeks ago, and I don't have any pain, but when I walk, I feel a little pain in my knee. I think my recovery is going well because I can relate completely to what was explained in the video, and also to other comments. I don't know if I'll be able to play professionally again, but it feels like the pain is there. However, it's more of a mental trauma, even knowing that I'll be fine. I'm happy that I now understand the value of my leg, and I believe that whatever happened, it happened for good.
3 weeks into my surgery i didn't get any rehabilitation help all i did is by myself by looking threw video i walked without clutches or Walker in the second week it sure is painful but we will get threw it lets all keep Fighting and hard working lets not lose hope and one day we will get back to the normal life

Yea
I am also having the same
Acl plus meniscus
I'm 3 weeks post up from acl surgery and I'm walking up and downstairs without my crutches and can stand for periods at a time. PT has definitely helped and with my at home workouts. That 1st week was definitely tough!
Did you have keyhole surgery?
I can feel that oooofs that insecurity, tough time.
I do had it 10 years before and came here that if there is any improvement in surgery .
I need to roll like bfr ...any how I can do all the normal stuffs by the way including dancing jogging.
Tough girl :) just smile and life is easy then
Wow your recovery was long. Had surgery 2 weeks ago and got off my crunches after 1 week and 2 days. My doctor to me to be aggressive with my knee and it’s been painful but is working. Officially walked today outside with no crunches. My goal is to be back to normal walking in 2 more weeks. Having a confident mindset truly is necessary.
hey! well done on such a speedy recovery ! was it just the ACL? i have my surgery in 2 months and i wasn't scared about it until i decided to look it up on youtube...
@@evgeniyai.5693 yeah it was just the ACL and the best advice I can give it’s to take those prescribed painkillers the first and second week because the pain will be horrible.
Had an OPEN MACI surgery, 1 year rehab. Your outlook on life is a natural pain reliever, never let your mind slip and wander off into danger zone. Watch comedy movies, socialize, etc. if you’re not in the mood to, force yourself
I love the way she handle her surgery acl she all positive got to respect that
preparing myself mentally for this surgery
Just had surgery last week, seeing this definitely has helped raise my spirits.
Was tearing it more painful than the surgery
This girl is my motivation
I was in a car accident and had a reconstructive knee surgery. Having to be helpless sucks but hoping i recover quick
This girl is really pretty. Thanks for the info
I just had my knee surgery 5 days ago.i really thought it is going to be easy but when reality hit you in the face.i feel terrible.this video make me hope that i will be recover very soon
Just had my 2nd acl surgery yesterday n omg this reminded me how long it’s gonna take n the pain…. Dam pray for me thanks
Stay strong bro you can kill it one more time .
Did my acl playing rugby. I’m just glad this is a common injury, but still a lot of rehab in the coming months hope you all get through it safely ❤.
I got this surgery in 2002 and the pain after surgery was very bad. And the first 3 months after surgery was pretty rough but after that pretty smooth sailing.
I recently tore my ACL, MCL, and meniscus and I am supposed to have surgery in a few weeks. I am nervous about everything but this video helped ease that nervousness. Thank you for sharing your experience.
how did you tear those?

I just tore my ACL last week I’m not looking forward for what’s to come. My MRI reports say full thickness disruption of ACL which probably requires surgery. I’m only 22 and in good shape so hopefully I’d recover quick.
dude I found out this week too full ACL tear playing rugby, I wanna join the marines but I can't because its disqualifying even with reconstruction. I am truly lost with my purpose in this world. I'm looking in fire service but knowing that Ill never be a marine is more painful than death itself
Thank you so much for this video! ❤ I’m so happy for you that you got through this chapter of your life. I have tears in my eyes because I will be going through this in a week. Have Acl surgery and I was super nervous about it, still am but now feel more better about it. If you can do it I can do it too :) thank you you are a warrior and I hope you have healed so much more since that time in your life. God Bless you!
Just got news this morning I fully torn mine .. being suggested to surgeons now . Today is horrible . Can’t wait for this “unbearable pain” everyone speaks of post OP
Currently 5 weeks after my acl and meniscus surgery I can say the few days after my surgery was the worst pain I’ve ever experienced
What is Ur present condition ..I am also going to operate acl tear
Just got my surgery yesterday.. my knee feel so dead ! I can’t wait til I’m off crutches
Nice video by you , giving hope for me ,I will also recover from the bad period👍
We rehabbed two large dogs through two cruciate tears, no easy feat. Can't imagine the pain. Well done.
Your video has been my motivation for two months now. It's nice to feel that you're not alone and you gave me hope.I had the same surgery that you had, today I got off crutches and it feels so good.Thank you so much for your video it's my motivation.
I thought I'm the only one with this issue. But, stunned to see so many people here in the comment section
I had my surgery may 19th. The first 3-5 days was brutal. Still hurts but not as bad. I was able to put weight on it immediately per my surgeon. Sometimes I walk around without crutches but I keep my brace on fully locked. First followed up appointment is in 2 days. I hope it goes well
Was tearing it more painful than the surgery
Congratulations. I understand how much pain is . God Bless you
I had two ACL surgeries. Pain killer is your friend. I used to pop them in like candy.
I be scared to do pt cuz in my mind it hurts
I have injury in my right knee...but am still running without surgery

i’ve just had a knee reconstruction surgery i’m about 2 weeks out of surgery and the recovery process is quite fast for me i’m able to walk on it without crutches PT has definitely been a big help in my recovery process
I like this video so much that I watch it everyday
My knees are fine, but it hurt to even imagine going through that. Strong young lady will do fine with that attitude. Protect those knees and never take them for granted.
I tore my ACL and meniscus and school makes this so much harder
I met with an accident in August 2023
Got an MRI
Reports said I had torn ACL, meniscus and some more.

Just had the surgery yesterday. Thanks for the video, it's very helpful :)
Im 5 days after my op just now and the pain isnt too bad. I can walk with a limp but struggle to sleep. Its not too bad at this point.
Haha just pray...

Had my acl surgery 2 weeks ago and walking has been getting there and always do the exercises they give you
