3 days and 3 nights of pain without sleeping, 8 days in the hospital, 6 weeks in crutches, 5 months of kineto then 11 months of pause from football...after 3 years my knee is even stronger than before.

Just always remember that every small rehab workout counts towards your recovery. Dont skip them. No matter how boring or small the actions of the workout are just do it trust me lol

But I remembered going back to using cardio machines in the gym faster than I expected. Just ask your physiotherapist for guidance and get approval from them as they know the best. Everyone body works differently
I just had my ACL and Meniscus repair surgery yesterday. I woke up to use the bathroom and pop another pill for pain Management. During my surgery they performed a nerve block which assisted in a better recovery out of anesthesia. I'm begging to feel my leg again and it feels heavy. I have never been this restricted from everyday life. I am also an ex athlete who enjoy still being athletic at 45. I so needed this positive but truthful reinforcement and actually what to expect. Wishing everyone who reads this the best in their recovery.
I just had an ACL and Meniscus repair surgery in a February 2024 and it has been very difficult, physically and mentally. I had a quadricep tendon graft and also got an infection in my incision due to a suture abscess so that has made it all very difficult!
Yeah I just got ACL surgery Monday. There is no way I can do all of that. He had his brace off doing exercises and I’m in day 5-6 now and can barely put weight :(

Your video was really helpful for me. Nobody could have explained the rehab journey better other than a Physiotherapist and an injured sportsman himself. I have over 13 years of experience in sports rehabilitation and I must say that your video is an eye opener for me. Thanks 👍😊
I tore my acl over 15 years ago and had 1mm still attached. Have had it pop a couple times since and saw an ortho a few days back who told me "your acl is toast." Awesome. So, I'm facing this surgery at 52 and was terrified until I saw this. It did make me feel a little better about it. Thanks
@@stephenanibie3410 it does get better man, i am in almost no pain now, give it one week from your surgery and you won’t need as many painkillers and will feel much better. I promise bro
Second ACL on same leg? Just curious to know about complete recovery time.how many months it I'll take...ACL done for my left leg and 2 weeks completed...I feel no pain except while i walk , using Scrutches.
@@tamiltrends22 yeah second surgery on same leg, had my first in 2017 with keyhole surgery, that was quite manageable pain wise, can’t remember how long the entire recovery was, but I think generally it takes like 6-9 months to fully recover, I’m not entirely sure though. My second was 3-4 weeks ago with meniscus and root repair, with a hamstring graft also so it was quite substantial, the pain for this one was far more severe
@@alexmatthews7265 Hope you are doing good after your second surgery ❤️. Thank you for the information.before surgery i was told by doctor that he may repair meniscus also but However during surgery doctor found it's getting healed and meniscus repair is not required 🙂 So the recovery will be faster now as they didn't touch meniscus.
I am 23 for comparable measures. I had ACL, meniscus and MCL surgery with a bruised knee cap 2 years ago. It was the worse pain i have ever experienced and i have a very high pain tolerance. Was peeing in a bottle for almost a week as i physically couldn’t take the pain of moving it in the slightest. I took physical therapy extremely serious and had a very good physician. After about a year i was at or very near what i was at prior to my ACL tear and even played basketball at pretty much at the same level maybe just a bit slowed. Fast forward to today 2 years later i just had ACL and Meniscus surgery on my other knee (yes they got both of mine sadly) from playing basketball again. I told my doctor and all my friends that will be the last time i pick up a basketball as it’s not worth going through this again. However i had surgery less then 12 hours ago and it is not nearly the same pain although i used the same surgeon because of how well my first ACL healed. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m used to the pain, know exactly what not to do and what to do, or if it’s just a case by case but i expected the worse pain imaginable like last time but i am already walking (on crutches) to the bathroom and as long as I’m taking my painkillers and icing it the pain isn’t really bad at all. I share my story to show that if i can do this TWICE anybody can. YOU can do this. Your brain is a powerful tool don’t let it physic you out. You are much more powerful then you believe. Good luck all !!
wow i had the exact same problems. Thing is i got surgery a month after my injury to reduce stiffness swelling and help my MCL heal since it has such good blood flow. rn 10 days after surgery I can pretty much walk without a walker/crutch but with a brace(id try without the brace but my pt would kill me).
Hey I also had a acl and mcl surjury just around 21 days back but just 2 days back I mistakenly fall nd my knee got bended little extra compare to I was doing at the time of physio I m tensed if everything is fine or not
@@ZayK-WithDaDraco the initial tear is terrible, the pain builds for a few minutes and then adrenaline kicks in and it dissappears. Your knee will swell almost immediately. With my tear I only started feeling pain again after 3 hours and then it got really bad again. Had to wait a week to get surgery as mine had to be done over the easter holiday. I tore my acl but the main concern was my meniscus which I also tore pretty bad. Surgery was supposed to be an hour and a half took 5 hours in the end. I had to get an acl reconstruction and menisci repair. Like the guy in the video said first 3 days are terrible. I wasn't allowed to walk for the first 2 months to allow the meniscus to heal I'm currently almost 4 months post operation and I now can only have a full rotation of my leg
I have torn ACL right now and seeing everyone and him talk about exercising and the crazy range of motion they still have in their knee is crazy. I can’t even go into a 90° squat without my knee hurting for the next 15-20 minutes. Let alone EXERCISING omg. Y’all are so strong, I have no idea when I’ll be getting surgery on my ACL since I just had surgery about a month ago to try and correct foot drop.
I've torn my ACL twice (once on each knee), and I just got to say that the recovery speed can very a LOT. Speaking from mine and several other ACL tears recoveries I got to know personally, this recovery was actually really fast and successful. This is to say that you should not base your recovery stages solely from this video, as that can lead you to frustration and potentially re-injure yourself. My best advice is to always listen to your body and to focus on your own recovery, on your own specificities. Be disciplined and intentional in your recovery, and don't rush it! You got this 💪
Its been a week now since I had my first surgery ever and I was very nervous. Its an ACl reconstruction surgery in my left knee. All went went and I am in the rehabilitation process. First 2-3 days were the most difficult, minumum sleep and constant pain but gradually you are able to get adequate sleep with less pain. Going in 2nd week with crunches but the pain is less now. Post surgery the physio work is extremely important to have the normal movement back. Stay strong and keep making progess everyday 💪
This is without a doubt the most informative video I’ve seen, I’m a little behind with the progress but feels good watching your progress especially since you used hamstring graft like myself
I fell and thought I was being dramatic when I had it checked out two days later. In my 3rd week I got my MRI results and started balling. At the worst I thought I had a minor meniscus tear and was being dramatic. My dr proceeded to explain that she was shocked I limped into my appointments and had a smile on my face. I’ve been struggling emotionally since my surgery was scheduled as I had a major tear. Thank you for the background on the procedure and diagnosis. I’m terrified but happy my pain was validated. ❤
I have my acl surgery coming up I’m just grateful to know I’ll definitely walk again without crutches will be my first surgery but you definitely eased my fears thank you for this video
My 2nd day post op and my tip for you is painkillers and ice is your best friend. 1 day post op I started seeping blood through my bandage and got it wrapped again. Dont get it infected. ❤❤❤
I had my lateral miniscus and acl repair surgery 5 days ago and still i have to depend on painkillers. Wish me recovery and i will ya'll going through it the same
Good video mate, you hit the nail on the head with the first 3-4 days with a little regress on the 5th day. Start physio on day 6 but been flexing and extending straight after. I feel the difference in opinions to how you rest your operated limb is a game changer and the use of a cryo machine for pain and reduction of swelling is a must have
I’m really glad I stumbled upon this video. As a PTA and athletic person I recently tore my ACL as well as medial/lateral meniscus. I’m scheduled for surgery in October and doing prehab exercises such as you did. It’s been very deflating to think my life will be on hold for next 6 to 10 months but your video and information made me feel a bit more hopeful that I’ll be back to sports and weightlifting if I keep pushing and keep my head up. Still frustrating but I know I’m not alone!
I ruptured my ACL, completely torn my MCL and torn a bunch of lateral ligaments. I'm having my ACL reconstruction plus another procedure to tighten the lateral ligaments done next week. I did it playing the same sport 1 week out from our first pre-season game and my first season playing. This has helped me know what to expect.
I had ACL, lateral and medial meniscus surgery about four years ago. 2 days ago I had ACL reconstructed surgery. I must say, this second time around is much more of a challenge, the pain is intense but I am staying strong and positive. I am hopeful for my future! Thank you for sharing your video! Best of luck to everyone going through the same situation. God Bless! 🙏🏻♥️
Dear Andrew, thank you for the interesting video. I am a student studying physiotherapy. At the moment I am in an internship at a rehab center and I am going to see a young man, who is 25 years old and whoes left ACL is partially damaged. It happened in August, when he was playing football and was kicked posterolaterally in his left knee. The MR-scanning showed a partial lesion of the ACL. He is employed as a social educator in an institution for young people, but football is his favourit hobby. He hopes to avoid surgery and even to recover so much that he would be able to play football again, but he is nervous about the outcome of the treatment, because he still has pain. He walks without a stick or crutches, and is able to climb the stairs, but you can see something in his left knee, if you look closely, as if he takes care of it. He cannot fully extend his left leg, probably because the VMO-muscle is not strong enough. What exercises would you recommend to such a man? Thank you.
Just finishing up my day from ACL Reconstruction surgery and Partial Minisectomy. Watched this video for encouragement and also some of the comments. Congrats to those that have made a recovery, rooting for those that are in the process like me, and good luck to those that plan to have the same/similar procedure🙏🏽

I had to revisit a summary of post op rehabilitation. I’ll be going in for my 2nd ACL repair. I’m a former professional ballet dancer and the first time around from injury to full-time dancing again took 6 months. My body is hyper mobile so strength training beforehand as you’ve mentioned in your video- definite game changer and something I’ve added this time around. Glad to see the surgery was a success. Thanks for the video.
That is mental, congrats 👏🏻 I dislocated my patella 14 days ago and since have had an MRI scan and my first physio session. I have been told I won’t be able to play football (soccer) again for 3 months as I have lots of boney bruising and have a slight tear in my medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL). I have not had surgery and will not be having surgery however I am only now starting to put pressure on my leg. Now I have a load of rehab to come 💪🏻 If anyone else is going through anything similar or different, YOU WILL OVERCOME IT !!!
I suffered from an ACL rapture back in 2008. I opted against surgery even though the doctors advised. They told me with the surgery done, I would recover and return to the field in 9months but opting against surgery, my knee will heal but I can't play active football (soccer) again. I opted against surgery and quit soccer because I feared of reoccurrence. 14years on and I still hear pop sounds whenever I bend and straighten my knee. Sometimes too, I feel pain.
These comments are reassuring. I tore my acl a few days after my birthday, and just recently got surgery after months of waiting and rehab. It’s been so frustrating cos i basically felt normal prior to the surgery as I’d been doing so many excercises to put on as much muscle protection as possible, I was even confident enough to dunk (off my unaffected leg). But now after the surgery even the tiniest movements are so painful, even though I’m pumped with codine. I thought something must’ve gone wrong till I checked the comments, cos this is way worse than when I tore it even, glad to see this is normal.
I tore my ACL (and a partial LCL tear) in November. I didn't have an MRI done until 4 months afterwards and unintentionally prehabed while trying to heal the grade 2 tear. I'm 5 days post op and it honestly hasn't been as bad as I was anticipating.

What I’ve learned on my healing journey was listen to your body before anything . Yes you should still heed the directions of your physician or orthopedic , but listening to your body and altering your eating habits are key . I’ve been able to heal fast and almost get full bend of my knee sighing 3 weeks. I’ve been able to put slight pressure on my knee since week 1 . My pt doesn’t want me to push myself as hard I know the risk but I listen to the signs of my body aswell as the warnings of the system. Staying determined and motivated is key
Can we start bending knee right after ACL surgery? So let's say after 2 days after ACL surgery we start bending knee gently without pain. But it can be up to 30-40-50 degrees possible. The question is: won't it stretch ACL unnecessarily?! Won't it lead to ACL being too loose in the long term?
Thank you for sharing your story, an injury like this so debilitating both physically and mentally, watching videos like this is inspiring me with my own injury. I am 4 months into recovery from a ski accident. I broke the ACL tibial spine with part tear to the ACL. No surgery required so far, the break is apparently the better option! Although initially more debilitating the recovery I am hoping will be easier. I am back at the gym resistance training, cross trainer and cycling. My struggle is walking normally, my goal is to get back to running 15km a week, I have been told that another month or two is realistic in achieving this.
AMAZING DETAILED VIDEO! My 15 year old son just completely tore his left acl after a opposing team player swiped his leg FROM BEHIND at his travel soccer game last week. Thanks for video. Same boat here. Just had my surgery. Graphed from my hamstring and 1st surgery. Considered myself very active prior to injury. 35 years old but still strength training 2-3 times a week and playing rec ball twice per week. That’s how I actually injured myself. Looking forward to starting recovery and getting back to normal.
This has been really helpful, I completely ruptured my ACL 6 weeks ago and won't be getting surgery for another 3-4 weeks. I was worried that the delay is just hindering my return to sport but this is reassuring me :)

Thank you for posting this, we have to understand and accept that everyone is completely different as far as our healing process goes. I just had my ACL and meniscus repair surgery 2 days ago. As this man in the video said, I feel like a piece of my identity is gone. I'm already having the mental battles as well as the physical. Worst pain ive ever felt. But I'm only 2 days in. Trying to be positive. Any help, advice and suggestions like this video is much much appreciated. Thank you and I hope that everyone that goes thru this stays strong and recovers safe and fast.
I had ACL and meniscus surgery 5 weeks ago. The first two weeks were fairly brutal.. but I'm feeling fairly positive now. Started more intense physio this week. Stationary bike, stretching, strengthening.. small steps, lots of patience required. The mental game is hard, but hang in there captain!
Going through recovery right now, doctor said I can put weight on my leg as long as I can withstand the pain, which I can to an extent. I’m able to walk without crutches around the room a bit but feel comfortable with one- two crutches.
Thanks for the Video, I got my injury almost 3 months ago and it was not easy, I'm doing a bit better but I will not lie and I been neglecting my fitness as I felt discouraged with all the long waits for an MRI and then for the surgical procedure (Canad is slow), so I will go back to my training with my stationary bike and muscle strength routines. Thanks again for the good information.

I tore my ACL 14 years ago when I was 15. I had 3 different doctor's opinions, they all told me to just do physiotherapy to fix it... Obviously, it didn't work as my ACL had been fully torn apart. They never bothered to do an MRI scan to check my tissue, and they even got the tendon wrong saying it was the MCL and not the ACL. I just got seen to privately, and it got diagnosed within' a few days. So relieved to finally know that I wasn't crazy when I said physio wasn't working. It's been left for so long now that my doctor said there's more risk to surgery since I'm no longer a kid, and that it had been left for such a period of time. 😔 This video gives me some hope that I might be okay, here's hoping the recovery works out!
I’m going into surgery in a few weeks. I haven’t played football in 7 months (which is how tore my acl and meniscus) but as of now I am able to run/sprint, jump, box etc which makes me think my injury isn’t toooo bad. Hopefully my recovery will be quick too.

@@seancarterx So when I tore my ACL back in 2015 I didn't know it was ACL and was misdiagnosed. First few days after injury knee was swollen and had pain when bending my knee. 1 month after injury I was limping but then it became fine in regards to regular daily errands. after a few months of injury I was even jogging normally and pain free but I knew something was wrong in my knee I felt it is weaker so I went to another doctor and they did MRI and it was confirmed as ACL. You can live with an ACL tear if you don't do sport activities even my doctor notified me that. But the younger you are when you do your surgery the better and quicker recovery you will have. Pre-surgery I was a bit overweight so I only did diet and exercises to reduce my weight so I can have better recovery and less chances of re-injury after surgery. Now I am doing well and feel more confident regarding my knee but still scared to go back to sports yet so I am giving it another 1 or 2 months til I go back to sports . Good luck to all who will have ACL surgery soon, I will have mine soon as well but need to strength leg muscles first, if anyone know some good videos for leg exercises before and after surgery please share, good luck again too all.
Good luck with your surgery bro, don't be too worried if you end up losing a significant amount of muscle definition, tone and size on the leg that was operated on shortly after surgery. I did a massive amount of prehab and I remember looking down at my leg's muscle that first week post-operation and seeing almost all of the muscle in that leg that was there a week ago vanish. I was off my crutches within 6 days and I was as mobile as I could handle and it happened regardless. It took two months of dedicated commitment to rehab exercises for me to get back the muscle that was lost, but I got there and it was very satisfying when you get it back. I guarantee you that if you wholeheartedly committed to rehabilitation then it's just a matter of time for things to return to normal, but if you get the operation and don't do proper rehab then you were probably better off not getting surgery at all. But I know you have got what it takes King, it's a long battle but the hardship and struggle is worth the end result.
tore my right acl last year during pre season soccer season. got surgery and spent 6 weeks on crutches and got barely any sleep. 10 months of physical therapy and then went back to soccer and started the season. i was back at soccer for around 2-3 months then at practice 2 days ago i tore my left acl 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️

i had my left knee reconstructed twice. In the second time, after the surgery about 33 days, i went to the gym and did some rehab exercise. There was a PT that I hired forced me to do some stuffs like farmer's walk with 18 kg of dumbbell each side and lot of joggings at the fifth week of the recovery. Even though i had already warned him about the amount weight that he put on the exercise was too much and heavy and also before that I told him about every stage of the acl recovery and he was bragging about he knew everything knee anatomy so he didn't had to listen me. Til one day my knee was aching during the framer's walking practice, i stopped the training immediately and had a serious conversation about his knowledge of acl injury and that asshole confessed that he had no knowledge as long as experience in acl rehab, he didn't even no what was acl stand for. No words could describe the furious when i heard this. Right now is nearly 6 months after the reconstruction, and i'm gonna go to the hospital to re-exam whether my knee is ok or not. Just hope you guys a good recovery and totally come back

If it's hamstring that will be soooo much easier for recovery. My best advice... The quicker you can start with rehab the Better. On 4months I'm really doing anything in the gym! Besides running and jumping as my doctor is old school and Unfortunately I need to listen :-)..... Small victories everyday that's the key. On a mental and emotional side everybody's yourney is different, but on a physical side start pushing from day one ( listen to your doctor of course)..... I went from 2 crutches to 1 one crutch on the 2 week mark and My biggest regret was that I did not do it sooner. ..... In short... Don't be nervous... It's really not that bad. The worst thing tor me is the frustration of waiting 12months before I can go back to sport.. Please ask me if you any others questions, maybe may story can help. Good luck with the surgery! Go for it... Fix it, do 200% when it comes to rehab...... Focus on first getting range back and then power.. Very important..... Remember the good time before you tore the acl :-)
@@MrMagicR Thank you so much for responding! I am two weeks post injury and I just got cleared to walk on one crutch outside and no crutches at home. My graph is going to be from my quad. I don’t know if that makes recovery easier or harder than if it had been from the patella or hamstring. My sport is low impact so my doc said that I might be able to return to play 4 to 5 months post operation. It obviously all depends on how quickly I progress in PT, but it’s something to look forward to. I’m trying very hard to remain positive, but it can be difficult. @LieutenantNoCap going great. they just started letting me put pressure on my leg and moving it in my brace like a week ago. before that it was 6 weeks of no pressure and straight leg and alot of icing. but it goes by pretty fast especially when you start pt you progress pretty quickly.
Very good video, thanks this has been very reassuring to know that people go through the same injury as me regularly and there isn’t anything to worry about in regards to surgery and post-op recovery. Good luck to everyone else who is also having surgery, make sure to stay positive 😁
Thanks for sharing your story. I'm recovering much more quickly but my injury is 18 years old and I did alright without it. @@sweetness4914 Actually both my surgeons didnt mention abt strengtening before surgery..i guess its not part of their protocol. but, seeing alot of vids on youtube from PT, it is recommended to do, so your thigh muscles have some muscle memory which may help your rehab post op.

Having surgery to reconstruct my ACL, MCL and LCL in just under a month, really nervous for the operation having lots of anxiety around it and also the recovery and how bad the pain is going to be, anyone have any tips going into surgery and after? Also currently doing physio to try and get full movement in my leg but I feel like I’m getting no where with it. If anyone has any advice or tips that would be super helpful! x
Hi, I also had reconstruction of both acl and mcl and stitching of meniscus. My pain was not that bad actually, but i have to be a lot more careful than the guy in this video. I stayed in bed for around 5/6 days and i still can't walk, probably not yet for another 6 weeks without crutches. So I'm definitely a lot more slower than this guy. Just make sure you have a brace to stabilize the mcl (i only had one after 1 week ). This makes you feel more confident to walk around on crutches and do exercises like bending.
@@saar1241 hey, thanks for the advice! Unfortunately they found more damage in my knee when operating as I also had a fall after the accident, the pain was horrific if I’m being honest and I couldn’t walk on it for a good 3 days but I’m now 3 weeks post op and getting better every day, really noticing a difference still on crutches though. Also I wore a brace before surgery but was told to keep it off after surgery but when I’m looking to get back into the gym and my sports again does I knee compression help? I’m unsure if to start wearing one for those activities or not Thanks ! x
@@laurenwheeler2420 Hi, I´m also 3 (and a half) post op right now, what a coincidence! About the brace, I have to wear it because my MCL had been reconstructed so it's for stabilizing while walking. When you go back to sports, you could wear a knee brace too, the one that is less rough and more elastic, though this would limit your movement but could make you more secure while returning to your sports (mine is football/ soccer)
Good video! I am 8 days post op, done very intense pre rehab that helped out tremendously! I’m a gym rat and also a physio so rehab is not a problem. Progressed to one crutch today, doing my exercises 2-3x a day. Stay consistent people, ice regularly with elevation+ankle pumps to push fluid out.
Hey thanks for the advice! How are you able to bend your knee? I tore my ACL and meniscus and I can somewhat move and bend my leg a little bit but doing a full bend or be confident enough to do workouts I can’t. Any advice?
@@EzyFurKid I am doing good right now started my physical therapy sessions this weak and the sessions are very painful but I am improving.... How are you now ?? Are you walking now or still on crutches?
I’m getting ACL surgery first week in March and I’m very nervous. I’m so happy to hear y’all’s pain is subsiding. Everyone’s stories of increased range of motion is comforting. Thanks for sharing!
I tore my ACL a couple days ago and a shard of bone came loose, and I can't put any weight on it or even move it much without my knee popping. I have to move super slowly and with help to get out of and into bed and I gasp and scream from pain without Percocet. I even had to use a bed pan last night. I'm dependent entirely on my mom for everything right now. I'm amazed that this man could walk and bend his knee so freely before surgery, but I guess I'm no where near being a professional athlete. I'm hoping despite this extreme pain it'll get better quickly.
I am fucking MORTIFIED that you showed the surgery 😂😂 I’m watching this to get prepared for tomorrow but now I’m definitely not going to be able to sleep😭😓

Kerr it up I’ve been living in pain and fear because of fear of the surgery but I’m motivated more now to get the help I need. 👍👍👍awesome video
This is not an accurate representation of the recovery for the majority of people. All this video does is make other people feel bad about their own journey and convince people that its okay to be doing things right after surgery that they should not be doing.
I know the pain of tearing an acl. I tore mine at 12 years old and at that time my growth plates were still open to much for them to do surgery without hindering my growth. So they had me do rehab for 3 months and then see where I was. Well after those 3 months I went back to playing soccer full time with no issues. During the 3 months of rehab I worked hard to get range of motion and rebuilding my leg muscles to adjust to not having an acl. Now it’s been 23 years later and I have zero knee issues or pain work full time on fishing boats, play soccer still and rollerblade often. I am one of the few I have heard of that can live a normal life without an acl and be so active. One thing that’s for sure is that my right hamstring(torn knee side)is 3 times larger than my left one. I asked doctor in high school why it was that way. He’s response was that my hamstring and calf work together to balance my knee from slipping like the acl is supposed to do
@@3005lives4you ya I have looked into it but the main surgeon who has seen me since I tore it says there’s no need to fix it since my knee doesn’t bother me or slip out of place. I can still lift run hike all kinds of stuff without any limitations. He said once it starts to bother me he will do the surgery and the longer I can go without it the better the surgery process will be

My second was 3-4 weeks ago with meniscus and root repair, with a hamstring graft also so it was quite substantial, the pain for this one was far more severe

Thank you.

I had ACL and meniscus surgery 5 weeks ago. The first two weeks were fairly brutal.. but I'm feeling fairly positive now. Started more intense physio this week. Stationary bike, stretching, strengthening.. small steps, lots of patience required. The mental game is hard, but hang in there captain!
Going through recovery right now, doctor said I can put weight on my leg as long as I can withstand the pain, which I can to an extent. I’m able to walk without crutches around the room a bit but feel comfortable with one- two crutches.
Just had my 3rd acl recon done after the previous surgery 12 years ago. Goin thru my rehab soon. All the best to everyone.
tore my ACL as well, but I've been lazy with rehab. This inspired me to get back at it, thank you! :)

This video gives me some hope that I might be okay, here's hoping the recovery works out!
I’m going into surgery in a few weeks. I haven’t played football in 7 months (which is how tore my acl and meniscus) but as of now I am able to run/sprint, jump, box etc which makes me think my injury isn’t toooo bad. Hopefully my recovery will be quick too.

@@aminahussein1731 Sorry for the late reply I haven't received a notification. After 4 weeks of surgery I started walking without the knee brace but with a little limp and get tired after like 15 minutes of walking. I did physio for the first 3 months but then I got busy with studies so didn't fully commit which made my recovery become slower. Now I am 11 months post surgery I have no pain and full range of motion and going to the gym regularly and jogging. I still don't feel my knee is 100% which is normal according to my doctor. So I am still a bit scared to go back to sports so I am taking it slowly. Feel free to message me if you have any questions :)
You need to be 24/7 with her for the first month of surgery because it is painful and she will have difficulty with everything we do regularly. I wish a quick and speedy recovery to your gf :)

My ligament fracture was 5 years ago and i didn't go to the hospital now it become worse and i can't walk.. I will do my surgery soon

I was told not to put any weight on my knee until after the MRI.
I tore my acl at 15 never got surgery I’m 29 now want to get it done don’t know if I can get it back to 100% but I’ve been pretty capable without it people even get surprised when I tell them and see what I can do I hope I can recover 100%
i had my left knee reconstructed twice.

Yooo great job. I completely tore my ACL. I just had surgery today and I can't feel my leg. They basically gave me an epidural for my entire leg. I couldn't bend my knee at all. I could walk with a limp without crutches but that was basically it. I'm amazed at your recovery. At yea I hear the first 3 days are the worst. Tonight is goin to suck trying to sleep lol

@@icebox544 hi there... I completely understand that you feel nervous....nobody wants to go for surgery. But I can honestly say that I never had pain post surgery. When I tore the acl that was pain! Afterwards.. Nothing really. I used paint killers in the hospital and the first day, but stopped after 2 days. Everybody is different. I have a patella graph.... What are you getting?

@@laurenwheeler2420 Hi, I´m also 3 (and a half) post op right now, what a coincidence! About the brace, I have to wear it because my MCL had been reconstructed so it's for stabilizing while walking.
He’s response was that my hamstring and calf work together to balance my knee from slipping like the acl is supposed to do
That good that you've been able to live a normal life after the injury. Honestly though, I would still look into getting the surgery.
