      Thank you for the hope! I was looking at so many meniscus rehab videos and thinking whether I would be fully recovered to normal... Some commented that they are still having difficulties bending their knee even 135 degrees. But as far as it seems now which is 12 days after surgery, I can feel I'm gradually gaining the strength in the leg back , thanks to rehab that I force myself to do every day!

      Same
      ACL high grade tear with bucket handle tear of meniscus
      10 days after surgery today went for sutures removal
      Pain was there
      But the most painful for me was
      I’m very active & Selfi Depertment kinda person
      And I had to depend for pee .loo.drinking & all the other stuff
      & I had a breakdown due to the fact can’t move
      It’s very emotional for me cauz I never depend on anyone not for anything
      One advice do t try to push too much
      It’ll become worse the graft can fail also
      So it’s a long rehabilitation process it’ll take time but everything will be fine

      I hope all of us will get recover soon

    I had ACL reconstruction with hamstring graft and meniscus bucket handle tear repair four days ago. Saw doc yesterday for bandage removal. Was given three simple exercises to start immediately after surgery (leg lifts, ankle pumps, quad activation) but told no weight bearing. Pain was pretty intense for me the first couple of days - thinking nerve block didn't really do the trick. I see PT next week, so 8 days after surgery. Everyone is different in recovery. Still very helpful to see others on the path to healing.

    Obviously everyone professes differently, but I’m on day 4 of full ACL, and meniscus on both sides. I didn’t get an ice machine only an ice pack. I haven’t showered yet simply because moving it still hurts a loooot. I was told after I shower I’m not supposed to put any kind of ace bandage back on because most people put them on too tight and give themselves blood clots. I’ve been able to do very little exercises, mostly just making my foot straight and trying to angle my toes towards my knee. My check up is 10 days post op, no PT scheduled yet.

    I had my ACL surgery on 8 Dec (4 days ago). I'd say very smooth experience. I had a complete tear but no damage to meniscus. I walked super chill into the OT and woke up 3 hrs later. I've had minimal to no pain whatsoever. Just some tightness on day 1. I could flex my knee 90 degree on day 1 and do calf raises on day 2 with much ease. I guess my intense pre-hab is paying off now. I can walk with minimal crutch support but not overdoing it right now. Overall very smooth process and pain free post op. Maybe I'm lucky. Also I have no brace .

    Hey, had an ACL and meniscus reconstruction with part of the meniscus removed 3 years ago on my left leg and 5 years ago on my right leg. I remember how for a while I felt like I'm never going to enjoy sports and will never get my flexibility back. Well fast forward to now and I'm deadlifting 200kg, biking for 60km every weekend and playing basketball every other weekednd. I think I have the best flexibility especially when it comes to knee bend from my friend group. Not bragging just letting you know that if you feel like it's hard and that you can't enjoy sports anymore just know in a few years it's going to be like you never had a problem in the first place. Also, I see you also have hairy legs like me. Those are going to cover any scars nicely. If you have any nerve damage, usually that gets fixed by itself in about 1 year. That is how long it took for me. Anyway, love to see the positive attitude and your doing a great job, keep at it!

    Hey, how are you doing now? I just got ACL reconstruction with meniscus repair 42 hours ago at HSS as well. I haven't been doing any exercises, or adjusted the brace at all, and I have been taking the oxy. I'm just not really sure what I'm supposed to be doing right now. My shin is still numb (they took the patella) and I've really just been in bed all day, getting up around 3-4 times a day. Idk how you’re doing this on day 3 man I can’t even walk unassisted without crutches 🩼 I have incisions everywhere. Definitely seems like I’ve had more pain then you and others over the 1st couple of days today is a little better but thigh muscles feel weird like lumpy above the knee cap and swollen. The ice also was not getting to my knee because of the insulation from the wrap. The first couple days in the brace and the wrap I literally felt like my leg was not getting circulation like a tourniquet and limited blood flow foot was freezing and leg tingly and numb. I did have a Patela grapht I believe and meniscus repair as well. I’m just focusing on knee pumps haven’t tried the belt yet or bending my knee surgery was on Wednesday todays Friday and PT starts Monday. I guess I’ll work on these. This time I insisted on dilaudid 4mg for pain. Took first 2 days and pain manageable. Also taking Advil. Because of Meniscus repair no weight bearing which is so difficult. Ice machine best friend. I see Dr in 5 days and will get bandages off. Better this time with pain meds. I cut myself down to one 2mg at night and advil.

We reinforce my glutes and my posterior chain. It helps me to stand up with my single leg and i can achieve 10-15 degrees of movement on my repaired knee. Due to the pre-physio i can flex my quads at 30-40% wich i know some of you will not be able to do :(. So :

    Hello, I just had an acl and meniscus surgery, but it's been a week, and I still can't use my crutches. Is that a bad sign. I can berly get to my dpor with my crutches it is soooo painful.

    • @Famvestor
      @Famvestor  ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you using a stabilizer brace? Lots of ice to dull the pain? I'd say there is a decent amount of pain for the first 10-days. Dont lose hope. keep that leg elevated to reduce the swelling and pressure.

    I got Minor tear meniscus, torn lateral meniscus and partial tear acl. It’s been 1 month no surgery yet. Swelled up and I limp when walking. Went to orthopedic and they said if I wanted get surgery or not. I said yes so waiting on hospital call me. Should I try these exercises meanwhile and do stationary bike. I’m trying the bike right now and can’t seem to do it.

    • @Famvestor
      @Famvestor  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I think its best to be as strong as you can be prior to surgery. I felt I did a good job at this the first surgery, but second surgery I didnt give myself enough time to recover and was still limping into surgery and I think that made recovery a lot slower for my left knee.
