    Thank you for this rare negative 3.0 video. I am currently having ENGINE #3 installed in my 2018 still under the original warranty

    You know that they had a recall on this exact issue. I took mine in (so that I wouldnt have this issue) and they replaced the valve for free. All under warranty. **Edit** I did not read the description at first. That said about the recall. That's why you get it fixed! Lol hope she runs good for you now! 👍 **

    Have 90,000 miles on my F150 Powerstroke no problems so far. Wish me luck. I have been very consistent with maintenance.

    Did Ford pay for the replacement? It's technically a failure caused by owner neglect for ignoring a recall that was intended to avoid this very outcome.

    Took my 2018 in on Tuesday and they did the recall replacement. I drove away and it had a high pitch noise. I drove it back. The assistant SM said it was some lose hoses. I left, it still made the noise. I showed back up the next morning. Long story short. They told me there's a bolt in the intake and they are replacing the intake. So it's safe to assume that this happened to my motor, correct? Should I demand that they replace my motor, turbo, exhaust and anything else?
    I put 2 videos of the screw in my engine (sounds). Let me know what you think.
    Thanks for your time.

    Yeah there was actually a stop sale issued on those trucks until the FSA was performed. Because they didn’t want that to happen.

      I bought my 2018 3.0 new in June 2019. It was built in August 2018. Have not seen a recall. Not for that anyway.

      @jlatonas 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@borandell9915 if you bought it in June 2019, the dealer would have completed the recall for you as they were required to in order to sell it. Your dealer would have a record, I would confirm to be sure. Mine was an Aug 2018 build as well, purchased in March 2019

      @@jlatonas Just saw your post Jeff. Thanks. Yes, that is exactly what happened. Do you still like your truck? I definitely do. But it seems like production of trucks with this engine setup is halted. Very rarely see them on the road. And dealerships don't seem to have them in stock. At least not in Albuquerque.

    • @jlatonas
      @jlatonas 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@borandell9915 yup I love this truck, has been trouble free for me so far and gets great fuel economy, probably the best truck/engine combo i've owned. Tows my tent trailer real nice too. Production is still going, but they generally run them hear the end of the model year, I know the 2020's only started showing up in Aug. The engine is still available for 2021 as well. They only make about 5% of their trucks with this engine so they're rare. Dealerships don't tend to order many since the profit margins are way better on the high production gas engines than these low production diesels. Gotta jump on them when they're in!

      @@jlatonas Wow!!! Great information Jeff. You definitely this got truck down. I see a lot of speculative commentary on how long these small diesels will last. (Mostly negative) But Damn I love mine. And yes, small camper trailers, heck 3 or 4 steers, does just fine. This is not a truck someone buys to hall big load trailers. It's fuel economy, options and comfort with ability to haul or pull most things we use in our lives. We go rent the super duty to do the super duties. Thanks again for the info. I do think we are the guinea pigs for this new offering. But I'm enjoying it so far.

      Ford, but they may go after the Dealer that released the truck without completing the Recall
      Dealers are supposed to ground the vehicle even if it shows up for only an oil change
      I think the total was around 30K to replace the engine & all the contaminated air inlet components

    That’s really a Land Rover engine developed with Ford and Peugeot. They are junk. Don’t buy a “branded PowerStroke diesel” F-150 or even a Transit with the 3.2 five cylinder diesel. When you buy a diesel F-150 you are actually getting a Ford product with legendary Land Rover unreliability. All of the big three half ton diesels are junk. What is the most reliable half ton diesel in the market right now? None of them are. It’s not worth owning a half ton diesel. The fuel mileage is good for a half ton but the cost of ownership is just not worth it because of the complexity with the emissions system that has the SCR system. In America diesel fuel is more expensive than gasoline.

    • @jlatonas
      @jlatonas 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Reliability for me has been better on this engine, than with my 6.2 gas that left me stranded a couple times. Haven't had any emission system issues yet, but you can always delete when you do. Maintenance is not bad if you know how to change your own oil and fuel filters. Diesel is also about 20% less in canada than gasoline, so it's been awesome for me.
