    Great video. I’ve used it 3 times for all of my fuel filter changes. I put the clear and yellow caps from the new filter on the old one before I remove it from my truck to prevent leaks.

    I own a 2018 Platinum. I love it! I used to trade in every few years. I seriously doubt I’d trade mine unless it was for a 2021 Platinum.

    Appreciate this video. You got a new subscriber here! I have a ‘21 f150 with the 3L diesel and bought the filters a while back so that I have them to change at the next oil change.
    This truck has been great for us. It’s my daily driver and occasionally tows our travel trailer. Mixed driving, I’ve never got below 22mpg even in the winter time. Our last vacation trip from IN to NC and back…..solid 30mpg! Truck has been trouble free for 25k miles. You can’t go wrong with one of these! Too bad the diesel option is gone.

    That looks pretty simple to do. I’ve seen quite a few of those F-150 Powerstroke diesels in Georgia. I was interested in one of those a few years ago and still am. Too bad Ford quit making it. Quiet for a diesel. Some gassers are louder.

    The primary is always so tight 😫 I need to get one of those sockets. I change mine around 15-20k and they always seem dirtier than that one was.

    Great video. I change my fuel filters about every 30,000 miles. I try to let my fuel tank get really low before changing them. I usually collet about a pint of diesel. Also, the front end is on ramps as well. Socket looks really cool. $23.96 on Amazon.

    On frame filter is a much better setup than the one on a 6.4 4x4 with a PTO.

    What I would love to find is a how to on the glow plugs some service schedule I saw that a buddy’s shop uses says 55,000 mile for glow plugs but it like a 5 hour job. And I would rather do it my self just trying to find info for that have 52,000 on my 21.

    Almost looks like some fuel filter line fittings on say a 2015 Toyota Camry, Rav4 or Sienna. Quick disconnects with buttons with a plastic keeper so the disconnect stays together.

    Great video. My wife has a F150 3.0 powerstroke and she loves it. I didn't know the fuel filter was that easy to change. Do you have the part numbers for the filters and for that special tool.

    Thanks for the video. Would you happen to know why my 21 PS 3.0 will not go into brake maintenance mode? I also get a lot of brake squeal when breaking at less than 10 mph.

    I've replaced MANY. Fun fact. If you try to get your parts guy to look up a fuel filter kit for a '21 model year F-150 with the 3.0L diesel, there is no listing. Nor does it list it in HVBom if you run the VIN through OASIS.

      My buddy down the road has one. Super quick truck. Gets great fuel economy fully stock. High 20's I'm the city 35 highway.

      I have an ‘18 4x4. I get 27 avg for 10k miles. 32-38 hwy depending on wind, temp, and speed. I absolutely love it!

      @@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod Haha :) Our Ford service center never changed the Timing belt on my dad's truck. It's now at 149000mi with a busted timing belt :) They've done ALL the maintenance on this unit..... I guess I'll have a good time tomorow at the dealer.... ;)

    I'm not a pro. Just using 32mm and bearker bar. Need bit of force to loosen that filter breaker bar gets it done. I like the design no need for torque wrench. Filter stops turning when fully installed. The firewall filter is more of a pain...

    Why do you prime the fuel line after changing the one under the trunk? But before you changed the one in the engine compartment. I always change both then prime the fuel lines and filters. That way the secondary filter has less fuel drain out.

    I've never even seen a 3.0 PSD. Quick lane gets all the preps and all the oil changes. I wonder if they even know there's fuel filters that need to be changed??? I'll probably see my first one when it comes in on the hook for a warranty HP fuel system job. Lol

    Use an extension brother. Don't brake your knuckles on the frame rail.

    Have u replaced a timing belt on one of these trucks yet. I’m got 130k on mine but the dealer ship said there not worried about it yet that it could easily go to 200k what is ur thoughts?

      @@tonyprovo7816 the main issue with these used to be cranks breaking but then they redesigned it before it was put in the F150. There’s a dedicated 3.0 group on Facebook where you can find more information :) There have been spun bearings here and there, but overall seems like it’s a decent engine so far, and you should be able to save more in fuel costs than the actual extra maintenance expenses due to it being a diesel

    If you don't charge the system prior to replacing the under the hood filter you have very little leakage when you disconnect it. I charge the system once both filters have been changed

      Short run and not advertised very well by ford, they discontinued it as an option a while back

      18-21 very low volume. Unless you were a hardcore diesel guy you would never have known. I actually got to build the first 2 of these in prototype form back in late 15 early 16. It was so hard to keep it a secret with everyone trying to guess what engine they were using 🤣
