@78mfleet no stats were given... it was accolades. And Jordan is DEFINITELY behind Kareem in accolades. Go look. If it is stats Lebron blows MJ out of the water and has for years. More rebounds more assist better shooting percentage better 3 point percentage more definishve and offensive win share more value over replacement player more clutch shots and shot them at a higher percentage more wins higher percentage against teams over .500 more triple doubles more 30 point triple doubles. Only player to lead his team in all stats (at the time he did it) and STILL the only player to lead both teams in all stats more total everything except steals... and don't let me get into playoff stats.

1 for 3 points per game
1 for half a steal more per game.
      Now what...
What about rebounds, assists, shooting percentage, 3 point percentage, clutch shots, win percentage, value over replacement player, plus minus, win shares, true shooting percentage, usage rate... where are your stats?

Setting aside Jordan's raw talent, determination, ability to find ways to win, stats at what he accomplished in a shorter time frame, two gold medals, college championship, and being the pure definition of a champion, I think what he accomplished during that era is amazing. Just look at the style of play during Jordan's era versus LeBron's. Back then, the league was tougher and more physical, where defense was just as important as offense. The league today is soft, no defense whatsoever, more focus on perimeter play, no player diving for balls or posting-up and bumping elbows, and there are countless videos of players today just stepping out of the way when someone drives to the hoop. What MJ accomplished then was Babe Ruthian. And lastly, GOATs don't go around telling people how they are the greatest, other people should do that for you. No one in their right mind can argue any of this.

@@brian6441 What doesn't make sense is giving lebron credit for longevity when things changed. Barely anyone entered the NBA straight from high school. The norm was play 3-4 yrs of college when Jordan entered the league. And even now the rules have been changed so no one can enter the NBA at 18. All of that stuff was out of lebron's control and he had nothing to do with it. Lebron has slowed down and this obvious when you see him lolly gagging and playing no defense the last few years. This started the last 2-3 seasons. Basically 35 yrs old and on.
Jordan won the scoring title, championship, finals mvp and at age 35. He was getting older but was still the best player in the league. And even at age 40 averaged 20+ ppg while playing on a bad knee. But I digress. What ultimately matters, always matters, is a players averages. Kareem can score 38,000+ points but what was his career average? Lebron can pass MJ on overall stat #s but how many more games did it take him to pass Mike? That's what matters.
1 other point, the NBA today is soft as puppy 💩and we all know it. Lebron should be dishing out the punishment physically but rarely does. Instead he flops all over the court. I'd love to see how long his body would last going up against the late 80s Pistons and early 90s Knicks. Btw Jordan played 1,072 games. Lebron has played 1,310. Gamewise Lebron has played 3 more full seasons than Jordan and that's counting the 2 seasons Mike was in Washington, well more like 1.5 😂Jordan played in all 82 games 4 different seasons. Lebron played in all 82 games just once in 18 seasons. It's much easier to have "longevity" when you're load managing half your career 😉

Lol at “LBJ doesn’t need a robin, he just needs the ball.” The man wasn’t winning shit pre 2010, before he started creating superteams or getting with at least 2 all stars/1 superstar. He was 2-5 vs 50+ win teams, his best playoff run according to his fans at that point was 2007. Facing two 41 win teams, no Arenas/Butler for Wizards, later an old Pistons team with no Ben Wallace/coach Brown. Not exactly great competition, also Detroit won just 53 games, would’ve been the 4th seed out West. He ran to an established all-NBA player champion in Wade, got a legit all star in Bosh then he won 2 out of 4 finals. Oh & he was actually playing that robin role in the 2011 finals & choked bad while doing that. Worst finals series by a superstar ever, came in as the best player in those finals to getting outscored by 4 players including a bench player. Left Heat hanging when he saw he couldn’t win with them anymore. Joined an established all star in Kyrie, then got Love who was (at that time) a top 3 PF. That’s another 3 headed all star team in a weak East. No one else had that. Leaves Cavs once he saw he couldn’t win anymore, btw he was also trying to recruit KD there. Left to go to LA bc he knew that’s where Kawhi wanted to go all along, his first year there goes 28-27 but his fans say he was hurt. The dude said he was healthy all year, promised “playoff mode” only to go 3-12. Lost to trash teams like the Nets/Magic/Grizzlies/NYK etc then again tries to recruit another superstar in Kawhi after getting AD but failed to do so. AD ends up leading LA in every stat minus assists, led them in advanced stats as well so you can make a case LBJ was a robin this year yet his fans want to act like this man single handedly took 3 franchises to the finals all by himself & won. Worst fan base ever.
He has yet to take a trash team from the ground up to the finals & win with that. He’s hopped on different teams while getting with all stars to get ahead faster. That’s not impressive, it just shows you can’t win with what you have, when you lose you bounce to avoid adversity. That you need established all star help to get you to the finals & win. That whole narrative that he can take any team to the finals & win is false, never was true without the help of all stars.
Colin is a goofball, I remember on sportsnation when it first aired in 2009 (a show that used to be on ESPN) he was considered the LBJ “hater” while Michelle Beadle (his co host) was the LBJ “stan”. It just shows how the media has these dumb debate shows to garner ratings. Perk said MJ was the goat then flipped flipped once klutch sports got to him. Nick was a KD>>>>LBJ fan, called MJ the goat then flipped flopped. Shannon was a MJ guy, called him the goat with Kobe second then flipped flopped when those klutch checks came through. That’s all LBJ has is the media help, he needs that to fool the public into thinking he’s better than MJ or close to him when he ain’t.

In the end, this makes assisting an incredibly important part of the game and could be just as important as scoring as it is commonly required to get the most out of your teammates in that manner. Yup can’t stand the Bron skirts constantly saying Jordan couldn’t win until he had Pippen. On the subject of their claim let’s have a look at winning Finals seeing as that’s the subject.

      Jordan - 33.6 (PTS) 6.0 (REB) 6.0 (AST) of teams pts (34.5%)
      Pippen - 19.0 (PTS) 8.3 (REB) 5.9 (AST) of teams pts (19.6%)
Jordan never had a sub 20pt game in Finals
      Pippen:

LAL were also the only team in the bubble during these playoffs that had the same time slot in prime time. Never had a afternoon game at all. I’m just saying no matter who had won it, opposing fans from rival teams were gonna discount it, Not to mention how Miami was banged up, missing there best scorer in all but one game, missed there 2/3 best player for almost half the series. The craziest part about the entire MJ vs Lebron debate is that it only started to eliminate Kobe from the conversation. The Lebron/MJ comparisons began and there was never a Lebron/Kobe comparison…and that comparison made more sense at the time because it was clear Lebron was nowhere near Jordan and Kobe’s and Lebron’s careers crossed paths so it makes more sense to compare them.. But they minimized Kobe’s accomplishments to the extent where they try to pretend that three of his championships weren’t relevant in his resume’. They jumped straight to the top with LBJ even with so much failure on his side…and completely bypassed the player they should’ve been comparing him to. I think if any player ever bypasses MJ as the best, we won’t have to debate about it, we’re going to know ‘for sure’ this guy is much better than Jordan and unfortunately Lebron has not passed him on paper or by the eye test.

I'm pretty sure in Jordan's final season he won league MVP, Finals MVP, Allstar MVP, the scoring title and was all NBA and all NBA defense first teams. To argue that Lebron has more longevity is ridiculous. Yes he is currently playing one season ahead of Jordan but Jordan grabbed pretty much every award that was available to him in his final season. You could put that season up against any season in history. He retired because he had no motivation to continue due to him winning a second threepeat. But it's pretty much a guarantee that if he had played one or two more seasons he'd have still been the best player in the league those years.

Hakeems 94 and 95 title runs were much more impressive than any on Lebron's championship seasons including the 2016 title. Coming back from a 3-1 lead from the Warriors was great, he was feasting off of weak competition on his way to the finals. Hakeem was the lone star in his title runs and he played a huge role in his teams success. An aging Dirk Nowitzki was able to carry the Mavs to three titles by helping them sweep the Lakers, and defeated a superstar heavy heat team in the finals. Lebron fans will complain that the 2017 and 2018 warriors were stacked but lie about the Heat and Cavs teams not being filled with superstars which shows their gross double standards. Lebron ever since 2010 has been the one handpicking teams and forcing them to play a system that revolves around his playing style due to his below average jumper and limited offensive skillset. His limited offensive skillset and lack of jumper hinders his ability to dominate and take other close games consistently despite him shooting a high field goal percentage.

Defensive player of the year as a guard, leader of the 72 and 10 CHAMPIONSHIP WINNING TEAM. 6 Time NBA finals MVPs and a perfect 6 and 0 in the finals. He accomplished this all in 13 season in 950 or so games. All of this was before his Washington Wizards career. So for someone to be greater than that, the player would have to accomplish more than that resume in less time.

LeBron post-2011... Ok, Nick.... So without counting 2004-2011, let's go:
In 2012, the Miami Heat do the unthinkable by winning as the favourites behind the first ever signing of three top-five picks from the same draft class (James, Wade, Bosh).
In 2013, saved by Ray Allen's game-tying three pointer in game six of the finals with 5 seconds left after LeBron's attempted three pointer bricked. If Ray misses, Spurs win the series.
In a rematch with the Spurs in the 2014 finals, LeBron and his "Heatles" lose by an NBA record 71 point deficit where the average margin of victory was 14ppg. This marks LeBron tied with the Spurs franchise in finals match-ups 1-1. LeBron's direct small forward match-up Kawhi Leonard was the Finals MVP.
After getting gentleman's swept off the court by a record margin with Miami, LeBron verbally agrees with Cavs GM Dan Gilbert to sign with the Cavaliers on the basis they trade #1 pick Andrew Wiggins for perennial all-star, gold medallist, rebounding champ, 2011 most improved player and double-double record holder Kevin Love. Gilbert honours this request, as well as signing Rich Paul clients Tristan Thompson and JR Smith.
In the 2015 NBA finals, LeBron is on pace to shatter finals records for most missed shots. Through the first three games LeBron missed an average of 21 shots per game and would finish the series shooting just 39%. In the absence of Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving due to injury, and despite LeBron's shooting woes, the Cavs still took eventual champion Warriors to six games. LeBron's direct small forward match-up was Finals MVP for the second time, Andre Iguodala.
The 2016 finals went exactly as expected, with the Cavaliers winning the championship behind the return of Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. LeBron is bailed out in the clutch again by a team mate via the heroics of Irving who scored the only field goal by any player in the final three minutes of the close-out game to give the Cavs the lead. Irving was one point shy of back-to-back 40 point games. This ties LeBron with the Warriors franchise in finals, 1-1.
Following Irving's dagger and the conclusion of the 2016 season, LeBron investigates trade options between Irving and his children's god parents Chris Paul. This comes to light and Irving demands a trade to Boston, waiving 15% of his remaining contract to get out of town as quick as possible. Of the four players dealt to Cleveland in the trade, only one remained with Cleveland under LeBron's captaincy by trade deadline the following season (Collin Sexton).
2017 finals sees LeBron receive a gentleman's sweep for the 2nd time, and for the 3rd time his direct small forward match-up is named Finals MVP (Kevin Durant). LeBron now has a losing record to the Warriors franchise in finals contests 1-2.
In 2018 LeBron becomes only the third player in NBA history to average more than four turnovers per game in back-to-back seasons. Swept in the finals, Durant finals MVP, four times now LeBron's small forward match-up takes home the trophy. 1-3 against Warriors franchise in the finals. LeBron also loses a close-out game by an NBA record margin, 23 points in game four. LeBron only attempted four field goals in the entire 2nd half.
After getting embarassed by a world record margin for the 2nd time, LeBron gets out of Cleveland via free agency to sign with the Lakers. He would finish 11 wins behind the 8th seed in his first season in the western conference, and only improve the Lakers record by one win over the previous season.
Lakers essentially dismantle their roster for the 2020 season to rebuild and sign: the only player in NBA history to win DPOTY three consecutive times Dwight Howard, perennial all-star and 2nd all-time in PER Anthony Davis, 2x champion and record-holding three point shooters Danny Green, 2x champion centre Javale McGee, champion, 3x assists leader and 1x steals leader Rajan Rondo. Not only did this new roster carry LeBron to his first playoff appearance with the Lakers, they also took six games to beat the almighty 5th seed Heat who were without two starters through four games of the finals. 1-0 vs Miami.
2020 also marks the 2nd season in LeBron's career in which he led his peers in a statistical category, an assist title.

Ironic comment as MJ’s defensive accolades were handed to him based on perception more than the actual eye test or stats. The DPOY is a great example. MJ was never anywhere near the defender that Hakeem was. Hakeem averaged 2+ blocks and steals per game that year and 8 defensive rbs per year. These are the qualities / measures of a defensive player. And, yet, it went to MJ as he was becoming the face of the league, his stardom was rising and he did all of the fancy stuff on the offensive end.

This question, or the phrasing of it, rather, will probably come under a barrage of criticism. But you actually do have a point. LeBron is a great player at the best time to be in the NBA. The rules have made it easier to perform. And there is no stigma for guys who give college the customary one-and-done treatment. So, guys are playing earlier and longer. Therefore, they have the chance to rack up greater numbers. Add to this, the no hand check rules, the relaxed attitude of the record keepers regarding assists, and the increased pace, and you can see why numbers have been going up, up, up! Unassisted field goals have increased, showing that the no hand check rules are effective. It is hard not to point to this as a big reason that LeBron has feasted stat-wise, especially in a weaker Eastern conference. Is this LeBron-hating? Not at all! Let’s look at some cold, hard facts.
LeBron’s Eastern Conference has lost to the West the majority of the time he has been in the NBA. The West usually wins the championship. LeBron is 4-6 in the Finals. He makes it to the finals so often because he picked the best team in the weaker conference. He then stacked the deck in his favor, which, to his credit, he had to be great enough to do in the first place. I don’t begrudge him the opportunity afforded him by those that came before. But its not difficult to see why he has so easily dominated. The East is notoriously weak. It’s simple. Who in the East is a hall of famer, that has never been on a LeBron James team? Compare that with other great players and who they had to play, and it’s not even an argument, really. We hear LeBron supporters for the title of GOAT say that he had more competition in the finals than Michael Jordan. That is doubtful. It is more accurate to say that some of his opponents were clearly better than some of Jordan’s. But Jordan’s greatest competition was more evenly spread out. In fact, Jordan battled teams that were much tougher in his own conference than LeBron ever faced in his conference. Ever. Like the Larry Bird-led Boston Celtics. Who, in the East, has LeBron faced, that was on that level before he ever got to the finals? Then, there was arguably the greatest defensive squad ever assembled-the Bad Boys of Detroit. Isiah Thomas said that if his Pistons were playing in today’s league, they would even win more titles. He is known to be a fan of today’s game and thinks LeBron is the GOAT, so this is not a case of him hating. He is just noting, with a professional eye, that today’s game is easier. And the Eastern Conference is the weaker of the two, so that makes it easier for LeBron to waltz into the Finals every year.
LeBron is benefiting from a diluted league. There are more NBA teams than ever before, certainly more than the half a dozen years Jordan played in the 80s, when there were less expansion teams. There were more high quality players crowded onto fewer teams, which made things more competitive. LeBron has played his entire career in a league watered down by expansion clubs. Everyone knows that we need to get rid of some teams. There are just too many. It hurts the quality. Part of the reason we have these super teams is because players are trying to team up to balance the league out. see: Golden State. But didn’t LeBron sort of start things by taking his talents to South Beach and ensuring that he had a stacked deck? Now, the NBA suffers from an imbalance that becomes harder to correct with each passing year.
LeBron played with much better players than other all time greats. The two aforementioned factors alone, an abysmal record against the West and a diluted league, are enough to seriously weaken the LeBron for GOAT argument in so many ways. But, LeBron couldn’t possibly have any control over how strong the West was or how diluted the NBA happened to be, so we need a third reason to bolster our argument. Now, how can we prove that he played with better players than most of the all time greats? Well, let’s look at who he is compared to the most, Michael Jordan, the real GOAT. LeBron’s efforts to stack the deck haven’t been for naught. That is why he claimed he would win numerous championships when he first went to Miami. He called Chris Bosh, who ruled the roost in Toronto, and made sure D Wade, one of the greatest players ever, and the best player on the Miami Heat before LeBron, were going to be there. It is worth noting that Jordan never played with any one of D Wade’s caliber. Wade had a scoring title, a ring, and a Finals MVP before LeBron came. Kevin Love was the best player on his own team before playing with LeBron. Kyrie is one of the absolute best players in the league, and was the best player on his team before LeBron moved back to Cleveland. Kyrie commanded a double team. Chris Bosh did as well. So did Wade. And so did Kevin Love. Who on Jordan’s team needed to be double teamed in the entire time he played in Chicago??? LeBron has played with 14 teammates who were all stars during his finals runs. Jordan has only played with between 6-8. But LeBron’s teammates have a combined total of over 50 all star appearances! Jordan’s have 11, and most of those were from Scottie Pippen. Even if it wasn’t by much, consensus is that, by any measure, James has had better teammates throughout his career, yet he falls far short. Why far short? Why not end up with slightly more than what Jordan had? After all, James is playing in an easier league, and the Warriors haven’t always been dominant. Couldn’t James have done more? I mean we are talking about the title of GOAT, here. Greatest of all time. If he had better teammates, and he is better than Jordan, then why doesn’t he have a better record? Or maybe more realistically, why isn’t he tied? Or maybe to give him the benefit of the doubt, why isn’t he closer? Why doesn’t he have 5 titles? He has played longer, after all. he has more minutes, games, and full seasons than most great athletes in the sport. I think that LeBron, to be the greatest, has to meet some really high standards, because of the elite category. We are talking about a field of one. Only one person can be in this category. So little things matter.
LeBron has failed to perform at GOAT standards throughout his career. This is the biggest indictment against LeBron, and it is the reason he is so far short of Jordan, and Kareem for that matter.
There were times when he should have won a title, but he didn’t. The Dallas series is the biggest blotch on his record. Even his most ardent supporters concede this point. Nick Wright, who is an unapologetic LeBron fan, readily admitted this on more than one occasion. I don’t want to hear that Dallas was underrated. They beat Kobe, sure. But LeBron and the Heat were seeded higher and they went up 2-1 on LeBron. If the Heat just got outplayed, I would say that LeBron couldn’t do anything. But the measure of greatness is not merely whether you win or lose, it is how you played, regardless of the outcome. Did LeBron play like someone who was an 8 year pro, with a scoring title, multiple MVPs, and previous Finals experience? NO. Look at Game 4. 8 points and 4 turnovers? He wasn’t the 2nd, 3rd, or even the 4th best player on the floor. He looked lost. It wasn’t a bad game. It was a forgettable series. Games 5 and 6 weren’t only slightly better. If LeBron had even shown up, it would have at least gone 7. If he had played like he was the best player on the planet, he wouldn’t have needed 7. But how did he let Jason Terry, a 33 year old, out play him? How come he couldn’t stop Jason Terry??? Terry was a great underrated player, sure. But didn’t LeBron make a name for himself just a few weeks earlier by shutting down the league MVP, Derek Rose? Weren’t people calling him the best defender in the playoffs? No excuse for playing great against a prime Derek Rose, one of the two best players in the league that year, and then getting the pants whipped off of him by Jason Terry, not even in the top 20.
Finally wins another chip HoF by his side Anthony Davis, which gives him four in 17 years. The amazing thing is, it hasn’t made him the GOAT.

People say Michael would dominate in Todays NBA and Lebron would not have been great if he played in Mike's era. This is false, and the opposite is actually true. Do not confuse legend with reality.
Do you guys ever wonder why only 2 active players are in the top 15 all-time points? Or why no one has broken Wilt's 100 or Kobe's 81-point game.
Also, if you look at the most points scored in an NBA game, they all belong to retired players.
Or why current NBA players are averaging fewer points in a league today?
Simple: Today's players are bigger and stronger, so it is harder to score, which is why the NBA had to relax some rules. If Today's players played the way they did during MJ's time, NBA players would be getting concussions.
And no, MJ would not have dominated in this era, unless he worked on his 3 points or bulked up, he would have averaged about 27 points per game
