Let's see, scoring is much better today
      Three point percentage
      Free throw percentage
      Ball handling
The only reason why defense was better, in the 90's, is because most players couldn't shoot and stretch the floor

If his main distinction between Jordan's 87-88 and LeBron's 12-13 is the LeBron won the championship, can we add in team context perhaps? 87-88 Bulls starting 5: Jim Paxson PG, Jordan SG, Brad Sellers SF, Charles Oakley PF, and Dave Corzine C (HOFer Pippen was a rookie coming off the bench for 21 minutes/game), the only award amongst them was Paxton finishing 13th in most improved player and the only one of those to be selected any all star was Oakley one time for the Knicks 6 years later. 12-13 Heat starting 5: Mario Chalmers PG, Dwayne Wade SG, LeBron SF, Udonis Haslem PF, Chris Bosh C (HOFer Ray Allen was a veteran coming off the bench for 26 minutes/game), a completely player manufactured team with D Wade having 13 all star selections (including in 12-13), all-NBA 1st 2x, and all NBA 3rd team in 12-13 and Chris Bosh having 11 all-star selections (including in12-13). Let's put 12-13 LeBron on the 87-88 Bulls instead of Jordan to see if he makes the playoffs, and 87-88 Jordan on the 12-13 Heat instead of LeBron to see how many games in a row that team wins.

Wright conveniently leaves out so many details. It’s okay to count two shortened seasons for LeBron because he happened to win titles in those years, but we have to count the nearly two seasons in which Jordan was out for retirement? Another thing that doesn’t get talked about now is the fact that LeBron has needed the play-in tournament to even qualify for the playoffs over the past couple of years. W/o that, what do his achievements in LA look like? Let’s face it. He’s had one noteworthy year since he’s been there and it’s stained by the bubble.

Nick says championships don’t matter. But he says he didn’t even make it to the final. So he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, unless only Michael’s championships don’t count.

So tired of hearing Jordan vs LeBron. If LeBron would stop saying he's the GOAT and try harder to be the GOAT he might stop tarnishing what legacy he has left. LeBron might be fifth best Laker in history but I wouldn't pick him if I was choosing best five Laker players for a team.

It's crazy that he can downplay Jordan's 6 championships, but then claim a 27 game win streak for LAflop as an individual achievement. smh

Right...Curry had a 28 game winning streak and won the chip, so by Nick's standards he is better than Lebron.

Thing is, we don’t have to be dishonest about Mike and this clown and the le media can only be dishonest to keep this lunatic conversation alive. The only player that is close to Mike in a 5 yr span in stats is Wilt. Ten year span no one is close.

You can have your favorite and say he’s the goat but the goat is always determined by the collective, the majority, whether you like it or not. Nobody has been that guy more than Jordan, ever.

In the late 90's I was glued to the screen watching basketball. I can't even watch a game now. I've resorted to tuning into selective games in the 4th quarter. It does not have the same feel. 2024 basketball is very boring to watch 90's basketball from tip off used to be a thing.

Late 90s, I used to watch the Heat vs. the Knicks on tv all the time. They always seemed to broadcast that regular season game on national tv. The games were phenomenal and physical. There was so much bad blood. Then there were the playoff series - four years in a row they played. Phenomenal. Seems like one of those NBA rivalries that got lost with time.

It’s disingenuous to compare game six and seven because Jordan never went to game 7 in the final 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Amazing breakdown once again. I grew up watching MJ and every playoffs MJ game was something to look forward to. I used to record whatever I missed as some of the late games I wasn't allowed to stay up and watch lol as I was in elementary school.
One thing you missed, when Nick Wright is referring to LeBrons game 6, it's not against the spurs in the finals but against the Celtics in the ecf when Miami was down 3-2 and won game 6 in Boston. He put up 45, 15,and 7 or similar and it was a dominating performance. There's clips on YT of kg talking about that game as he was on that Celtics team.
But other than that you nailed this video again!

In 1988 MJ won the MVP, scoring title, and DPOY. He was the best player, best scorer, and best defender. Pippen just got to the team. LBJ had the luxury of having a stacked team in his prime.
