This was exactly how I planted my first strawberries last year, in a container trough this size, planting exactly how you've done it, standing on a couple of bricks - and the fruits were annihilated by woodlice! Will try and raise it a bit higher this year and see if they come back and steal my produce!
Try some neem oil, and Dr bronners castile soap. It's worked wonders for me, it's organic, safe for us and the environment and doesn't harm *most* beneficial bugs

Thanks for this video. I did a search on google to find out the spacing for planting strawberries, the information was 12 to 18 inches. I thought the recommendations to be excessive and decided to search for practical examples.
i did this, but i got a total of 6 grapes size strawberries. it was fun waiting for them to grow. but i was a little disappointed to getting just 6 tiny ones.
@@deanssculptures4294 Thank you for replying. good job on the video. i will try it again one more time. The last one i had, i threw out because i thought it as a one season deal. once a season is over, do i just keep them in the pot until they start to grow again?
@@love2kanta mine just sit outside all year, the only plant more durable than strawberries I've seen are green onions, and it's a close battle, i don't know about the differences between different types but you should be able to just let them sit out all year round for sure
@@love2kanta I'm not familiar with the climate there but as long as you water them correctly, they should be fine. I live in Sweden with cold winters...does the plants cope with the cold over the winter because of the narrow planter or is it enough protection for the roots? Thank for a nice video!
Strawberries are great for a cold climate and go dormant in winter. In spring they will start growing again if you’re weather is in the 60’s f. and above. There are two types of strawberries. One produces in June and the other produces all summer but there will be less berries than June bearing. You should fertilize with fish emulsion every month. At the beginning of the season they will need a slow release fertilizer according to directions on the bag. The soil should be on the acidic side for strawberries. You can add an acidified which is probably in you garden shop. This will likely need to be added more than once. Take soil tests to find out if the soil is acidic enough. Put in full Sun. Keep watered. You can put mulch over them for winter. I only mulch around them but mine are in the ground and I am in a cold winter climate also. It is below freezing all winter and snows here often.
Please let me know how much sunshine is required. My plants are not growing at all. I live in India and it is summer right now with a temperature of 35
Compost is the best thing for plants. I have a avocado tree that I planted the seed in compost instead of water. It grow fast and has given me lots of avocados. Loved and Subbed
Thanks for sharing how to plant . Great video but would have liked to see how much you water them as that is always my problem. I think I over or under water my plants 🪴 🤔

Hi thinking off planting strawberry's ,would it be to late now to start from seeds or wait and buy established plants come spring ????? Would appreciate a reply 😁 loved your video
Iv just started out and repotting all my tomatos has made me feel like a butcher after seeing how easy this guy has just shown me 😂 upside down tap and out genius
My question exactly. For a person who is not an English speaker it is confusing how people use the term compost. Because I think in the beginning of the video, he talked about potting mix (what ever that is then).
I got this beautiful strawberry plant about 3 weeks ago. Shortly after getting it home gray mold quickly started to envelope the plant and her baby which was sitting in a pot next to her and still attached by the umbilical cord. I managed to get rid of the gray mold by using a mixture of water, baking soda and a few drops of soap. I also took them outside to get some extra sun... But now both of the plants have light burning around the edges of their leaves and they just seem depressed. The mother plant is growing strawberries but after they turn red they suddenly shrivel up and drop off. She's got water and she's sitting on a window sill with some other plants. I'm thinking maybe I should separate the baby from the mom and replant both of them. I love these plants and don't want them to suffer :(
Dear JustBecause, We would recommend that you use a product such as BugClear Fruit and Veg as this product is a contact insecticide that can be used on all fruit and veg but some plants may be sensitive to oils so test a few plants first, wait a few weeks to see if there are any adverse reactions before treating a valuable collection. This product comes in both ready to use and concentrate. For more information on the product please go to; www.lovethegarden.com/uk-en/product/bugclear-fruit-veg-250ml Kind Regards LTG

Why my seeds of strawberries form fruits don't grow I try twice
Takes like a month to germinate from seed and you gotta sow them with a super thin layer of soil or they will not be able to break through.
