    I have a 2021 Willys, and they had my tire pressure around 42 when I bought it, I've dropped it to 36-37 and it's been fantastic.

    I have mine since 2015, and I love it! Always kept the maintenance from the dealer! They do a great job keeping my jeep running like factory new. Never had any problems or issues with it! Only routine maintenance and normal wear and tear, what i mean about that! is New brakes, tires and oil changes. Good luck with yours!

    Good honest review…
    I’m thinking on a Willys, been looking at Jeeps for a couple of years but haven’t moved forward due to life…
    Thought I needed a Rubicon but lately I’m thinking the Willys would do just fine considering I’m not going to be rock crawling or mud bogging.

    • @AZdroptop
      @AZdroptop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! It sounds like you are thinking along the same lines I was when I got mine. A Rubicon would be awesome, but I really don't need the extra off road ability and didn't use my 05 Rubicon to anywhere near its potential and so far the Willys has been more than enough. I figure down the road I could always add a locker if needed.

    I have the exact same 2021 Jeep. I drove it from Tampa to Indianapolis and back with no issues. Just went over 3,209 miles. I averaged about 19.3 to 19.7 mpg driving roughly 75mph in most parts. I put 91 or above octane in it. My tires are at 36psi and I didn’t notice any steering issues other than the wind blowing it around. It does have some pep with the 2.0 turbo. No issues accelerating on the highway, even cruising at higher speeds. Love your videos, thanks for posting.

    • @AZdroptop
      @AZdroptop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much Matt. Great to hear your Jeep is doing great! You are the second one to respond that is running at 36psi so I'm definitely going to try it. Thanks for posting.

  • @mikefly562
    @mikefly562 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Nice video...on my 2020 Willy's JLU, I'm running each tire at 36 PSI as that was set by the dealer, and so far have not noticed any steering issues (12,080 miles on my Willy's), but I'll pay attention and see if I notice anything. I have the 2.0L, and have been averaging about 25 MPG with summer fuel, and 23 MPG in with winter fuel in Washington State, although on a 3,680 mile road trip, I averaged 27.1, using Chevron Premium. I'm so far very happy with my Jeep and really have not had any issues with it, and tomorrow (Dec 18 2020) will be the one year anniversary of when I bought the jeep!

    I just got a '21 Jeep Wrangler Willys Sport. I had the same intermittent rattle with my 3 piece Freedom Top. After a lot of investigation on my part and the part of the dealership, I just found the true cause the other day. It was the 1 inch plastic guide nub next to the driver side door. I wrapped some electrical tape around it, and the rattle is now completely gone!

    Hi Rick, nice to hear from you! Glad you are enjoying you Jeep. I have 6800 miles on my Crosstrek and just got it inspected last week for the upcoming year here in PA. We just had a major snow storm yesterday into early today. Some areas in PA and NY got up to 48 inches of snow, Bingham, NY for instance. We were in the 6-10 inch zone but only got 6 inches in my town. It has gotten cold, down to the teens tonight but at least the wind has subsided. If the wind was like yesterday and night it was almost like a blizzard, it would feel like zero! It was brutal! Well hope you and your family have a great Christmas and healthy New Year!!!

Stay warm my friend. Hope the it warms up a bit for you the next few days. We have been in the low 30's in the mornings, but in the 60's during the day so not bad at all. Merry Christmas to you and your family as well Dave, and thank you very much. Happy New Year.

    Bought a 2021 willys. The tires desire off-road. Lowering the pressure does help. The unsung hero of this model is the suspension. You can be on a perfect paved road and struggle with steering, then hit railroad tracks/pot holes and feel nothing. It is the perfect platform to build your dream Jeep. I use it mostly for everyday driving and it does just fine. Not the best highway Jeep, not the best off-road Jeep. Definitely not a mall crawler, not quite a rubicon though.

    Thanks Rick. Why the Willys Trim vs the other 12? Your color combo is exactly what my wife would choose, which is kinda the reason I'm here. She's looking for something similar to the '04 Pathfinder we had and she has her "mid-life" Jeep itch. What packages did you add to the Willys Sport? Is there any "must-have" option like the lighting or the tow package? We're in OH so the cold wx pkg is a no brainer...cheers.

    • @AZdroptop
      @AZdroptop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The main reason I chose the Willys package was the extra off road ability over some of the others. Better gearing in the back, Rubicon shocks, 31 inch AT tires with the 17" moab wheels, limited slip, LED light group etc. Mine also has a tow package -bigger battery, alternator and hitch upgraded stereo, and cold weather package. Here is a video showing all of the options. Best of luck to you guys, she will love it! th-cam.com/video/TjjG5ZIRArk/w-d-xo.html

      Hi John, it was a concern for me at first, but the more I have owned the Jeep it kind of fades into the background. I don't love it, but it isn't as bad on the highway as I thought it would be. I guess there is a new version of the steering damper that is steel instead of aluminum so I might see if Jeep will change mine out.

    Hello, my name is Mason and my wife and I just sold her 2018 outback yesterday and are planning to get an unlimited Willy’s edition in December. I am a subscriber and have enjoyed your channel, thanks for the information.
    At this point in our lives, both in early 50’s, not sure the rubicon is right for us. The thought of rock crawling in a $60,000 rig doesn’t seem right. The Willy’s seems like the best bet so far and the packages you selected are the same we’re looking for, even the color-I think. Anyway, did you order yours directly from Jeep or was it in the dealerships inventory? We live in southern Oregon and I’m trying to decide the best place and way to purchase. I know I can find better prices outside of the area however, when it comes to maintenance or the jeep being worked on, it might be better to take it to the place we bought it locally. Any thoughts or advice? We will miss our outback, it is a great car but we’re looking for something more “purposeful” to use your word.
    Cheers,
    Mason.

    i see you in this until oh, say the 3rd year of the Bronco LOL. idk i love jeeps. as a third vehicle i want a tj. I just don't trust FCA quality, and i don't trust jeep mechanics that work at dodge dealers or whatever. I mean, i'm not dogging all those that work there, but generally, the data backs up my sentiment. That being said, if you have the resources, those jeeps are really nice.

    Do you feel like you should have gone with a Rubicon? I am looking at buying either the Willys like you have or a less optioned Rubicon. I plan on doing some off-roading but no rock crawling. Do you find yourself wishing you had the lockers? Thanks

    • @AZdroptop
      @AZdroptop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Dylan, at this point I don't have any regrets at all. I think the Willys offers a great package for daily use and doing some pretty decent trials when you are in the mood. I can see myself moving the tires from 31's to 33's or a 2 inch lift some point down the road, but otherwise I think it is just fine suspension wise. I have a 2021 Jeep Wrangler with sky one touch. I hear a rattle at like 50 mph from the wind going over the convertible top. From the metal bars that go side to side to hold the sky touch.

    • @AZdroptop
      @AZdroptop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mark, how do you like the sky top? Someone was asking me about them other day, but I have not had the chance to check them out yet. Has the dealer checked out your noise?

      Love it. The noise is not every time but I only have 3,000 miles so not a chance to get to dealer. It’s not bad but the sky touch is new so I’ll give them my opinion. It’s just a clicking noise. From wind. Going over the top.

      Very cool. Seems like a nice option to have. The 3 piece top has been nice for me since my last Jeep had a solid top and they are not exactly easy to put on and off. :) Having the 2 front panels out is a nice option. Have fun!

    • @AZdroptop
      @AZdroptop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Daniel, I have not had anything like death wobble with mine and actually just did a video on how the Jeep does on the highway. Link at the end. There is a slight vague feeling to the steering at speed sometimes...Hard to explain, but was noticeable more when I first bought the Jeep. I lowered my tire pressure and that has helped. If you watch the video I mentioned that I didn't notice it much on a recent 500+ mile trip. Jeep has ordered me a new steering damper, but they are on back order. th-cam.com/video/v9SVovVeNzM/w-d-xo.html

      Rubicon starts around $42 and the Willys $38, Willys Sport $35. I'm' not really sure what the difference is between the sport and Willys? If you will not be doing a lot of difficult off roading the Willys should be work out great. If there is the potential for you to really get at it I would start with the Rubicon. 33's, lockers, 4 to transfer case, 410 gears etc. You get a lot for the money.

    I'm looking at buying a two door Wrangler,....2021. Looking at the Willy & the 80th Anniversary. My question is do you feel the Willy is extremely harsh on the highway? And do you feel the 80th would be better as far as that goes?

    • @AZdroptop
      @AZdroptop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Chad, I don't find the Jeep harsh on the highway at all. The only thing that I notice is the steering feel that I describe in the video...just a bit vague on center, no death wobble or anything crazy. I am used to it now and hardly notice it anymore. It seems like the 80th is based on the Sport S, but I didn't find mention of what shocks/springs it has so I'm not sure if it would be more comfortable on the highway. Other than some cosmetic stuff they seem similar to the Willys except for the shocks? Best of luck with your purchase!

      @@AZdroptop Thanks SO MUCH for all the information! Do you feel the stiffer ride / suspension in the Willy makes for more control? I would totally give up a smooth ride for more control. • @AZdroptop
      @AZdroptop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chad, sorry for the delay...I do not believe the Willys has the full time AWD option, but I am not 100% sure on that. The rubicon shocks and the all terrain tires will definitely help when off road as will the limited slip differential outback. I think the Willys is a great all rounder for daily driving with a bit more ability off road with out going with the Rubicon.
      I have found the Willys to be a good daily driver with all the comfort and connection features you would want along with great visibility all around, plenty of power, and quieter than I thought it would be. Downsides are fuel economy and not as comfortable as a sedan would be, but you can take a sedan off road. :) The Jeep is also not the best choice if you are planning on doing long commutes as it is a bit more work to drive it at 75 mph. Best of luck and let me know if you have other questions...happy to help if I can.

    • @AZdroptop
      @AZdroptop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kailea, if you have an adventurous family then definitely! Having owned an 05 Jeep they have made great improvements on day to day livability and in my opinion it is a very easy vehicle to live with. Heated seats, steering wheel, good sized touch screen, auto start etc... Jeeps have all of that stuff now. Plenty of room on the inside for carseats and stuff.
      On the downside it isn't a great vehicle to travel long distances in if you are on the freeway doing 70 to 80mph for long stretches. It is fine, but does wander just a bit and not quite as easy as other SUV's. I have been getting 20 mpg around town and 23 combined so not terrible...the turbo motor does more like 23 to 25 mpg, but you have to use premium I believe.
      I think if you plan to do a good amount of off roading it is hard to beat, but if not, it may be better to look elsewhere. 4Runner's are amazingly capable off road and travel better over long distance. I am also a huge Subaru fan and they can do just fine off-road as well if you don't get too crazy. :)

    • @AZdroptop
      @AZdroptop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting...Definitely get it to the dealer and have them do a once over. Could be a bad tire, maybe the tires need balanced? Or it could be the common Jeep steering issue or issues. There were a lot of problems with the 18's and 19's, but supposedly it has been improved. My steering is a bit vague, but it tracks straight and does fine on the highway. Jeeps don't do great in the wind, but it sounds like you have something else going on beyond it just being a Jeep.
