If you're wondering if I do my melody first.. Well, it depends on what I'm using to make a beat. When I'm on the MPC, it's always the drums first. On the Maschine Plus, I usually go with the melody, chords, etc then drums... On a DAW, it's the same as the Maschine Plus... Have a great day!

any specific reason your production order differs on the mpc vs the +./? on the daw makes sense

I tend to start with the samples, melodies, and synths then I go to the drums. I usually go with the boom bap patterns but sometimes I'll play with the note repeats and just free flow with that.

Chords usually always then some form of melody to keep my ideas fresh in my head. The baseline then ill do drums. Then start layering

It’s all interchangeable If I got a song idea in my head and all I’m vibing on is the melody then that gets laid first or if I’m just laying something down off the top of the dome drums most likely go first but most commonly for me is I get everything at one time when I am inspired so that’s where my phone or field recorder comes in so that I can keep the vibe and lyrics in tact until I can get to my equipment to lay it down, hey big ups for that time signature thing you were showing them I’m an old MPC-Head myself and that’s how I lay trap down is at a slower tempo.

Really cool they added the shift timing in their OS/DAW ! For your question it all depends on which style I am in the mood for...in stuff like jungle I will do a breakbeat, layering a drum pattern over it and work around that. I usually starting with the main sample for hiphop, add the drums after that, going for pads and extra stuff like arps and shit and I finish with the bass. I know it's weird to finish with that but I love trying to make something more complex in my bass that just do 1 note per bar and add gate and stuff and its sucks when you work hard on it just to see that it doesnt fit with the core sample and stuff.

it depends.. some tracks are started with a drum beat.. others i might find with a synth or bass or guitar riff.
everything can be an inspiration depends on the tune.
I don;t really 'do' chords.. it's riff based,,, be that a tune or beat
for me.. vocals always seem to come last though!

Usually boom bap is 65 - 90 bpm, and time correction depending on your skill. You can try starting with 1/32 to stay pretty in time. I like having hats off grid for bounce

Trap is much easier to make them boombap with boombap it's alot harder to get drums sounding authentic and an 808 bass Is easier to work with then other basses for some reason not sure why plus with trap u don't need to use samples for it to sound authentic a few piano chords and maybe a flute or strings and it sounds complete its very fun to make even low I'm not a fan of the style but I love to make trap drill too
