Yo I am Green as hell to beat making. I love listen to music and beats and I want to try and make them at my old age😂. I literally just bought the mpc 1 retro and I’m waiting for it to come. I bought it after listening to your review on the mpc retro. Man I have like a gazillion questions to ask you. Do you have an IG so I can ask you a few questions on how to start this? I also just bought FL studio. Will it work in there? How do you hear music from this? Is there speakers connected

It took me TWO DAYS to watch this video. I would watch it... pause it... try to do what you did... start watching again... PAUSE IT... two days of that. I got my MPC One two days ago. Now I can safely say I understand everything you mentioned in this video. So big-ups for THAT. And congrats on the 2.3k likes... That's a LOT of likes! :D

What do you think of it? I'm trying to buy one myself cause I'm trying to get into producing and how much did you pay for it? I've been seeing them for about $799

    • @takeonparis
      @takeonparis 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

@@roshaungoolsby4554 Yeah the price has been going UP. I got mine for 699. Anyway... I absolutely LOVE IT. I think the things that it has over the Live and Live II (extra buttons, smaller form factor) outweigh the lack of internal HD and wifi/bluetooth. I was looking for something to accompany my Novation Circuit. Well this has pretty much REPLACED my Novation Circuit. And it ALMOST replaced Ableton. I was getting ready to sell my Push 2 before I realized what a pain mixing and mastering are on any MPC. Don't get me wrong: You can create an entire song effortlessly on the MPC One. Faster and easier than you could probably make a song anywhere else. And I mean even a COMPLICATED song. But then when it comes to doing things like fading in and out an really working with that completed song and making it "Radio Ready"... You'll still need to whip out the laptop. Or maybe I just haven't figured out a way to do that on the One yet. Suffice to say... I wish I'd had something like this YEARS ago.

I got mine a few days ago, and one of the things I have noticed, about MPC instructional videos, is that,
depending on how old they are, they represent some information, that is no longer correct, as of the latest firmware/operating system updates.
Where I notice this most, is that because they changed where to find some things.
Many items, are no longer stored on the local drive, and are instead, stored on external drive/memory card slot.
What I need before I even make my first beat, is to figure that out, and get some pointers, on how best to organize files, folders, plugins, on my SD card.
And how the file system works, as of the latest software update.
Thanks for the great instructions, best wishes for your continued success.

This Thursday is my first payday at my new job, and I'm about to buy my first MPC. I've been watching a few videos by different guys today that were very helpful and i'm just like cool, lots of info on how to make music, just gotta translate it to my genre. But i just stumbled on this video and as soon as it started playing and he started talking, i was like "that's the guy! That's the guy i'm looking for!"
This is after searching for literally a couple of years now trying to find ONE beat-making tutorial on how people made hip hop before 2016-17. Can't really express how happy i feel, but Mr Ave Mcree, you have a new follower

Just got mine today, and this was a great jump-off place for getting into it without reading the manual for a few hours. This thing is obviously deeper than I even thought it was, and I did research going into it. DAW in a box, basically, which is impressive for $700 and with the build quality it boasts. Ironically, I got mine just so I'd have *some* sort of percussion while playing with my Roland System 8, because every time I have it out, I wish I had some percussion to work against. I think it may become more than that, despite me having four full DAWs. Same with my basses and guitars...should be an awesome, "I don't have to mess with a mouse," type of tool...but with the ability to go as deep as I want. Thanks for the video!

    Hi Ave,
I have to say you have a great presenting style. There’s a Myriad, of resources about this. And for someone’s who’s considering purchasing an MPC, which is a considerable outlay. It’s really encouraging to know there are well thought out presentations online like yours. But for you personally, how must it feel knowing that someone could be attaining information you kindly put online, and that “Your” guidance is playing an integral part in their musical future? We all have strengths and weaknesses, mine is being a painfully slow learner. From 2018 to now I concentrated on turning these principles on their head on a music production course. I then uploaded them to You Tube, I was surprised at the wealth of views, I think if there’s anyone struggling out there they have to remember via constant referral to their phones recorded footage, just how far they have come. Thanks again.

Dude youre the reason I even got that MPC One shit. Saw one of your MPC One beat making live streams and quickly got rid of that old head MPC 3000 slow shit. Got that MPC One and never looked back. Im going to buy another one and store that shit. Buy that shit with my $1200 stimulus check that I just got. Buy a shitload of expansions. Still have $$$ left over. Damn cuz

Watch this from beginning to end I understand the work flow of the mpc beats more I read to page 26 of the manual and everything you went over is exactly in the manual I'll still watch more videos reading Is fundamental still its nothing like hands on and actually being creative while you learning thanks again much appreciated 🙏🏾😷🙏🏾

    Dude... thank you 🙏
This is the best video I’ve found to get started. The manual really stinks.
    This is dope.

Thanks for this video. Helpful to get my head around the new screen-based approach. I'm good to go on my old MPCs but just ordered the MPC One and I'm a little intimidated by this new workflow. This helps a lot.

My pleasure! It's not difficult to learn. Matter of fact, all of the old features from past MPC are present here. Except you have more options now.

@@AveMcree That's what it is seeming like. I'm getting excited. Other question, is there a reason to keep my 500 and/or my 2500 after this arrives? I tend to hoard gear but IDK it might be getting kind of ridic in here.
