    Now that we are on the topic of drums, what are some of your go-to drum sample packs, any recommendations? my favorite right now is any Marco Polo Sample packs.

      @@malobeats He's got Akai expansions too, msxaudio.com, hiphopdrumsamples.com I think had a 40% off deal not sure if still running.

      For expansions Masada MPC cycle kits, Dirty Drummer series from mpc-samples. Loop/sample packs Beat Butcha, Marco Polo, Jeremy Page, J-Zone packs off Drum Broker. There are a few good boom bap ones on Akai too. I just got Kit-maker.com to build my own expansions but maybe I need to tweak the settings because I'm not getting full 16 pad programs. Maybe need to fix my file names/data. But I love the expansion format for quickly loading a bunch of kits instead of chopping and assigning one by one.

    One idea I had while watching you sequence in the grid editor was that you can turn on TC (quantize) and set it to a desired swing, then record in notes for an empty pad using the note repeat. Then you’ll have a nice visual reference for where the “swung” notes should be. I hope Akai adds some type of groove quantize at some point too.
    I also like to turn on TC but leave the strength at less than 40%. That way everything is slightly tightened up but still organic.

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Nick, this is interesting I never tried this but it’s some thing that I want to test out myself now. I usually record unquantized but I like how you mentioned you can set the quantize strength to about 35 to 40% and see what I get from there. Thank you for this ima try this out

    That grid was one of the top things on my list for wanting the MPC One. It is a very clear way of presenting your drums, chords and notes. One of the best ways to quickly edit a sequence for my synths. Especially if your are used to FLstudio. Great vid!

    Very nice work. How do you get your output to TH-cam. Example: if I want someone to hear something I’m working on and it isn’t finished, Instead of holding my cell phone next to the speaker, how would I make the sound quality sound like they are in the room with me. Sort of like if it were an MP3 file or something

    You thought of branching out to the akai force? I would watch these tutorials if you do. I have the mpc one and the akai force. The akai force has ableton intergration so you can use it to control the features in ableton through its wireless connectivity. Its clip based not sequence based though. Thanks I learnt a few new things in this video.

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahaha man it’s funny you mention this because I’m on the market to get another drum machine and the Force is on my list. I’m definitely interested. How do you like it and is it different from the MPC one or is it pretty similar?

    • @djharmonia2886
      @djharmonia2886 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@malobeats I would go the Akai Force hands down. I am in love with it. If you like the MPC one you would be impressed by the force. It even has its own DAW. The grid view, sample edit and a few other features are the same as the mpc one. Its the layout of how you setup the beat that is different cause it is in clips. Hope this helps!! btw I think your videos are quite professional which makes it more engaging as a viewer.

  • @davidscott2095
    @davidscott2095 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Malo, why do you have to track out your beats, samples and sequences to Ableton? Couldn't you do more or less the same thing on MPC Software? As a newbie, I was just wondering. Thank you, brother. Blessings!

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question David, I personally feel more comfortable mixing and mastering enable 10 but I’ve heard some people really love the MPC software as well little by little I’m getting more comfortable mixing and mastering on the MPC software it just falls down to personal preference in my opinion they both do a great job it’s just whatever you’re more comfortable in

All I wana do is load them (which I did) and loop them and use them like I did with my Mac, I don’t need to edit or cut them… just wana load them, loop them and save them. How do I do this?
