Nicolas Matiasek Same I bought a squier start with the frontman 10g, you have to increase the distortion on your amp. But the frontman 10g isn’t a great amp for heavy. It’s sounds ok but once you get better and practice for sure upgrade. Get a better amp or a Ibanez guitar.

Great playing, man. That’s a cool Strat. Those amps are nice, they’re plenty heavy. Man, Strats even with single coil make this cutting, crisp sharp sound when they’re distorted. That single coil “coo” sound turns into this barbed beast when the fuzz is switched on.

Yeah thats a huge mystery how an SSS sounds that heavy. I believe Kirk wired the first two pickups in parallel and used distortion pedal. Because there is no other explaination.

Tuning by itself doesnt really affect heaviness that much. Heaviness is mostly characterized by the composition itself and the tone/production. If there are vocals, the emotional weight and/or brutality of the lyrics help too.
my problem with suicide silence is that they try way too hard to be heavy (breakdowns every 20 seconds, unneccessary amounts of screams other things like that)
I have a cheap Fender champion series amp 100 watt with two 12 inch speakers. Most of my guitars have EMG's and this amp does get really good distortion. Loved your playing.

With the right tone anything can be heavy in standard tuning. You could also get either the DigiTech whammy pedals or the DigiTech drop pedal and djent in standard tuning.

think that's kind of the point, any guitar can be heavy as long as it has a humbucker. Hell a wooden board with a humbucker installed can sound heavy. Guitars aren't magic, they're actually really simple electronics that have been marketed to infinity and beyond, but in reality a heavy tone is one of the easiest things you can do with a guitar. You just need lots of gain and a humbucker
Play chord and chugg 0-E 1-a 1-d or play this certain chords like (on the e.a.d strings) play 779 or 335 668 (it's like a reverse powercord) but it sounds a lot deeper than normal. For instance 779(I believe it's 779) sounds like e (played 022) and you still the rest of the neck to go deeper.
I see you powers of deduction are formidable. The point everyone is making is that the test should be done on a traditional strat format with single coil pickups. Otherwise the video is redundant. Most heavy metal is recorded with a humbucker so of course, even in a strat, a Fender in standard tuning can sound heavy.

Here’s a tip for keeping it in tune. Tighten down the outer screws on the bridge plate and take off the 4 middle ones. David Gilmour uses that trick

think that's kind of the point, any guitar can be heavy as long as it has a humbucker. Hell a wooden board with a humbucker installed can sound heavy. Guitars aren't magic, they're actually really simple electronics that have been marketed to infinity and beyond, but in reality a heavy tone is one of the easiest things you can do with a guitar. You just need lots of gain and a humbucker

Play chord and chugg 0-E 1-a 1-d or play this certain chords like (on the e.a.d strings) play 779 or 335 668 (it's like a reverse powercord) but it sounds a lot deeper than normal. For instance 779(I believe it's 779) sounds like e (played 022) and you still the rest of the neck to go deeper.

I see you powers of deduction are formidable. The point everyone is making is that the test should be done on a traditional strat format with single coil pickups. Otherwise the video is redundant. Most heavy metal is recorded with a humbucker so of course, even in a strat, a Fender in standard tuning can sound heavy.
