I'm a Rhythm guitarist. When someone ask me to do some metallica riffs (ex. Master of puppets) idk why the downpicking intro becomes an iron maiden song, but in the end is funny
Then you're not a rounded guitar player. I personally finger pick and use my thumb as the rythym, or play rythym into my loop pedal and then solo over the top
I'm a rhythm one but I am trying to do both things so I can play various stuff. It is nice to hear warm words from both sides, thanks. I aprecciate everyone that plays an instrument, even if they are total begginers, we should all be together not apart
The rhythm guitarist has one of the most underrated, yet memorable jobs. Sometimes he can be the band’s primary songwriter (for example, Izzy Stradlin in Guns N Roses), or he can even be the band leader (Malcolm Young (RIP), Scott Ian, etc). He also plays some of the most iconic riffs (usually letting the lead guitarist get all the glory).
OR... instead of writting songs he can invest that time in actually developing his rhythm guitar by studiying Flamenco, Gipsy Jazz, Swing, Funk, Ranchera etc... "Need percussion? No problem I can emulate that on guitar." "You need me to create an emotional athmosphere using emotionally ambiguous chord progression by using accents, dynamics and even moments of silece as part of my rhythm? No problem." When you are actually good at rhythm guitar you will stand out without writting songs or riffs. One example would be rhythm guitarist Gabriela from Rodrigo Y Gabriela almost nobody pays attention to Rodrigo xD.

The difference between a Rythm guitarist and a lead guitarist, is that the rythm guitarist sets the rythm and the lead guitarist plays the melody. One without the other doesn't work out to well, unless the guitar isn't the main focus of the song.

Can you make a song with that beginning riff (both rhythm and lead) because that shit sounds AMAZING
This is what made dimebag great. He was supremely good at both.
Eugenesis agreed
Hell yeah!
Dimebag's not dead
I was thinking the same thing man
He was the rhythm AND lead guitarist

I keep coming back to this video almost weekly. So many great riffs!!
i was like ‘wow, how metal, he cut a ukulele in half and hung it on his wall’
Sampson Ma it’s just the way the screen is edited
It has two half screens -_-
That's the point of the joke
Sampson Ma are half of the replies here from mentally slow people
Cletsu Akino your face of unamusement and superiority is ridiculous since the comment you are replying to is acknowledged and become a joke

Sped Spedding lol
Sped Spedding BAHAHAHA INDEED
there is an elephant in the room
Cant even compare to steve vai :D
The lead he's doing is pretty easy, I was able to figure out that whammy bar he did. Its fun to do.
I wish someone made a 10 hr loop of that breakdown in 1:23
#supportrhythm
Joab Sanchez Rhythm is life, lead guitarists are just showoffs with no real feel for the soundsssss.
Kuro Kanashii STEVE VAI JUST PLAYS A MILLION NOTES PER SECOND HE HAS NO FEEL
Joab Sanchez

1:07 is where I snapped my neck from headbanging
TheAmericanRedhead you should listen to Honey and Whiskey by Daddy Rock. Jared reuses that riff there
@@maxlu9373 thanks for the suggestion, right on man 🤘🏻🤘🏻
TheAmericanRedhead actually if you want a closer version to the riff i’d say actually rest, in peace by daddy rock

Seeing my crush walking with another guy...
Yes and he is Jered bcs he know how do that sick tremolo
And then you have the fingerstyle guys who do both parts by themself.
Darn right, bro!
Ted Schoenling 5y.
Fingerstyle is my favorite tbh.
Silent Planet is a good band that does it well.
Hell no dude... they play the drums on the guitar too😂😂 give them credit where it’s due.
Sungha Jung
All that heaviness then that ukulele in the background
Random World lmfao
Nah ukuleles are brutal af
Are all these riffs by Jared? If these were all songs, I would listen to every single one of them.
Ayan Ahmed 1:23 is The End of Heartache by Killswitch Engaged
Thanks
Blazzered fuck, I knew I recognized that riff.
1:24 sounds kinda like "Hageshisa To, Kono Mune No Naka De Karamitsuita Shakunetsu No Yami" by Dir En Grey.
Yeah I’m upset the first one isn’t a somg
Every metal band :
Lead : Car in highway
Rhythm : Big truck
Bass : Tacos ?
