I don’t know if it’s just me, but a lot of Ulta’s “best sellers” were on their 21 days of beauty sale. Brow wiz, the blush, Naked Reloaded, Stilla stay all day liner, etc were some of the items on that sale. I wonder if they are truly a repurchased item or if it’s a best seller because a big sale happened somewhat recently. Just my thoughts. Love your videos!!

I know I only buy certain prestige items on the 21 days of beauty sale. Lancôme monsieur big mascara, benefit precisely my brow pencil, brow wiz, buxom lip gloss, etc. After seeing these items do go on sale at some point, why buy full price if you don’t have it. But there are our favorites worth paying full price as well.
I was going to make the same point! The Cover FX blush was too. I feel like this things skew the results. I purchase at this time too, I get it! I met my new holy grail because of the sale, the Too Faced Melted Lip. Y’all, this stuff stays on amazingly! The colors maybe can be duped, but that staying power; forget about it!!!
As far as bouncing around goes, I might branch out and try new stuff, but my “old trusty” will always be on hand!!

I'm very similar! Something's are tried and true like brows, mascara, and setting spray. It speaks volumes if I repurchase a product because I want to try new things but I don't want more than 2 of each type of product

As a “mature” woman, my skin and eyes are changing. So I have to update my foundation every now and then. Currently loving the Catrice HD foundation- it doesn’t emphasize wrinkles or texture, and coverage is easy to control. I experiment with eye and cheek colors all the time. I’ve learned a lot from you and bought several things on your recommendation, including the Needs palette!
Don’t bother buying the James Charles or any other Morphe palette. I’m not interested 🙃

I am a creature of habit, that is, I have my OG products in each category. I used to be more tempted to keep buying from the new launches, but since we have been flooded with SO many things.... I've gone the other direction. I am super careful/thoughtful about what I purchase now!
Patti 1962 - same. I love trying new products, especially foundation & eyeshadow & am always on the hunt for a new HG foundation, but I’ve slowed WAYYYY down on my purchases. I was really bad for a while there, to a point where I felt guilty. Shopping addictions are real & I’ve had to put the breaks on bcz it’s not where my happiness lies. It’s more so with the connections w/people who have similar interests. 😊 In the end, I find much more satisfaction from the conversations I have here. Sounds silly but it’s true.

I’ve never been a fan of UD shadows. I’ve found that they can be a bit difficult to blend, and deeper colors are somewhat patchy. Perhaps, it’s just me? I really like Lorac palette’s. That said, I haven’t used a palette in over a year. Whatever bronzer I’m using on any particular day, I put in the crease, blush on the outer third of my lid, and dab a bit of highlighter, or shimmer shadow, on the middle and inner corner of my lid. I also don’t use full coverage foundation anymore. I use a light coverage foundation, bb or cc cream, or tinted moisturizer. I’m 44, and I find less is more.
Agreed! Lorac shadow is lovely and I have become "less is more" in my 40s.
Me too...I'm 49 and softer more harmonious looks are better on the eyes/cheeks. I still like bright, clear reds and pinks for lips though. And mixing foundation with moisturiser.

Yes, definitely best drugstore sellers. I think more than ever this is needed. Not many can continue to splurge with high end prices these days. When available, I rather pay less.

Have you read the books? If not, I DEFINITELY recommend reading them alongside/ after you finish the series. Diana Gabaldon is such an evocative writer, and she's directly involved with the show, too. The audio books of the series are also great if you're more of a listener than a reader.

I totally forgot about my Instant Age Rewind Eraser treatment makeup until I saw one of your vids. I have it in 130 Buff beige, and I have been using it for the past two weeks. It’s easy and I pair it with the Instant Age rewind concealer in Brightener. Colourpop tinted moisturizer is great for quick mornings, and I always have a bottle of MAC Face and
body on hand!

At one time, right when they released & a couple months after, *everyone* was talking about the cover fx monochromatic blushes. Then as fast as everyone was talking about them, they weren’t anymore. I remember forgetting about it completely & I actually love it. When I worked at Ulta, no one bought them & I worked over the holiday season. However, they were one of our most stolen items. I think that was because they were wanted, but too pricy.

I can't either... but I do makeup for my children's theatere and there are so many colors in one place that it might be nice and convenient for me to have... I am honestly considering it. Especially because we have Wizard of Oz coming up and I could really make use of the variety
@@toriandtilly You could get the Wet n Wild one. It's not the exact same colors but it is a very good rainbow palette. It's on sale right now for 9.99/ Also, the NYX big palettes are REALLY good. The Swear by it and the other two. Excellent pigmentation and they're really creamy.

I'm not trying to start something, but I'll just say that I used to HATE James Charles. I think people who hate James Charles all have similar reasons, so I won't say why. That being said, I really respect him for bouncing back from the incident last year. I don't know what I'd do if the entire world was sending death threats to me & hating me, but he continued doing what he loves and I think he is at a FAR better place with not only his channel but his mental health lately. I think that he really grew from it & is now not only producing great content, but also is seemingly a better/kinder/more mature person because of it.

I used to love UD & Milani eye primers & even the MAC paint pot but I noticed as I’ve gotten older that they make my lids look dry & crepe, so I’ve had to find something that gives a smoother finish. Essence has 2 very inexpensive ones that I really enjoy (I Love Colour & I Love Stage shadow bases), they prime & provide coverage similar to a concealer but w/o the dryness (that even a regular concealers can have on me.

I used ELDW for at least 15 years now too matte and heavy for my 60 year old skin. Now the problem is my favs keep getting discontinued. physicians formula broke my heart when the discontinued The Healthy Foundation. I’ve used and loved loreal Voluminous mascara forever. I’ll be devastated if they ever stop making Loreal Color Riche Shine Varnished Rosewood which I bought based on your recommendation ❤️

I never trust the “top selling” “top rated” lists on websites or magazines because brands can pay to have their product placed. Magazines more than websites but they don’t have to disclose if it’s an actual best seller or something they just got paid to add into the list.
I was thinking the EXACT same thing. Nowhere does it say this is an actual ranking starting with the top product. They may stack the deck a bit to put more profitable products higher up in the rankings.
Sunday Riley was recently in the news because they got caught doing this exact thing. Paying people to give top reviews. I think it happened with another brand as well but I can't remember for sure.
This was top sellers not top rated. I trust actual sales info vs opinion left on a site.

I generally try random foundations depending on the season, as my skin is dry in winter months and oily in summer months. Regarding the cover fx duo, I’m sure the 21 days of beauty sale definitely boosted that product to the best seller list. I tend to stick to the foundations I know. If you review one and really love it I’ll try it and usually I like it. I LOVE the Elf cameo hydrating concealer. The original is to drying for my dry skin. I loved the Witcher on Netflix! Can’t wait for the second season to come out. Highly recommend if you haven’t watched it yet.

I’m going on day 3 of being in the hospital. I’m in early stage of appendicitis, so they are trying to see if all these antibiotics work to stop my appendix from being inflamed more. But it’s looking like I need to get an appendectomy 😩.....thank you for the video for lifting up my spirits 💜
Marcia Potan ~If you haven’t had surgery...they kept me for a week and then they sent me home - with more antibiotics that was the end of Feb. with no additional issues so far. Good luck!
Christine McDonough I was released, with prescription for two kinds of antibiotics, anti-nausea, and three different kinds of pain killers (Tylenol, naproxen and hydromorphone)...I’m still on clear liquid diet until I see the doctor tomorrow, he will do a follow up and if the pain is still the same as it was when they released me yesterday (which it is) then he is going to call the general surgeon, admit me to hospital and have it to be taken out. Not looking forward to it because I hate hospitals to begin with, but also scared of the virus and possibly being exposed to it, and being away from my kids even longer. I live in a small town where there are no cases and would have to travel to the nearest city (2 hours away) for surgery where there are hundreds of cases 😩....thank you for sending me luck, I definitely need it ❤️

I’m definitely more experimental, especially with foundations. I can’t say I’ve ever found the perfect one, either that or I keep looking for the one that will make my skin look as good as the ladies I see on TH-cam 😉
Hi I used Estée Lauder double wear for over thirty years but getting mature I started to mix it with a serum to use the bottle up then I moved onto perfectionist youth infusing foundation which already has a serum already in it ,and this foundation lasts as well as double wear.
I love Milani eye primer and UD Reloaded combo! They're my go-to for a "work look." 😁 People hate on that palette, but it's one of my absolute faves!
I change foundation for many reasons, mostly as you age your skin changes as well as season, need more moisturizing foundation in the winter than in the summer. The Estee Lauder Double Wear was a favorite until they changed the formula about 5 or 6 years ago, it just started disappearing from my face.

I am closer to your Mom's age, and I remember when she used to be on, and one of the products I still use is the No 7 product (have graduated to the mauve colored serum, lol). One product I have always loved which you recommended was the Instant Age Rewinder concealer in Brightener, still a favorite of mine. Your make all of your looks so effortless, and I love the videos with your family, I feel I have watched you and your family grow up right in front of my eyes! You and Tyler are such great parents. I found a loose powder I love that I gave away all others and only use it. Pacifica cherry matte setting powder. Its also in my opinion a dupe for tf peach perfect powder.

As far as bouncing, great question! I’m in my 30s, but only really got into makeup in the last year. So I’ve bounced a lot as I find what I like/what my skin likes. But now that I have a better sense of my needs and preferences, I tend to stick with products and only get a roving eye when something looks like a less expensive dupe or that it does the job better. Not a “makeup monogamist,” but less experimental than I used to be
Yes! Would love to see a drugstore version. I truly feel it's unnecessary to spend so much on makeup anymore. Drugstore and drugstore priced brands (Colourpop, etc) have saved the day on most items. 💄💋

Hi Emily! I'm a huge fan of the original Estee Lauder double wear. Over the years, I've purchased foundations at almost every price point but keep going back to that one. Here is my take regarding most of the items on the list not being drugstore: I live in a fairly small town and it's hard to find the more higher end popular makeup in a physical store. I do usually purchase my ELDW at our local Belk's, but the only other makeup brands they sell besides Estee Lauder are Clinique and Lancome. Drugstore products are readily available in my town at the chain drug stores (CVS, Walgreens) and Walmart. Therefore when I go to an Ulta (closest one to me is 30 miles away) I'm making a special trip there to splurge on higher end things I can't find anywhere closer to where I live, such as Too Faced, Anastasia, Benefit, Urban Decay, etc.

I used to be more experimental, but now I tend to buy a lot of the same things when it comes to coverage products. I currently rebuy (and have gone through many tubes of) the Missha BB cream off Amazon. It was a Jessica Braun recommendation and I can’t quit it.
I’m very loyal to what I love. I very rarely try something new except for eyeshadow palettes, blushes, highlighters & bronzers. I’m still using the MUFE ultra HD foundation & the too faced born this way concealer & I haven’t been interested in trying anything else. I also still use the NYX control freak eyebrow gel as well as the Sephora collection waterproof eyebrow pencil. These will never change. They’ve been my holy grails for years

For removing my mascara, I use my clinique or estee lauder eye make up remover. I enjoy all the benefit mascaras and I especially like Bad Gal Bang for the conical shaped brush. Be well, stay safe! Hi Emily, I have watched you for years. I like Este Lauder. I have used it for years. It is one of the few in my shade. No sense buying something else. For a dupe I use Maybelline Fit Me, if I am low on funds. For face powder I use the Lancome Duel Finish. I have used that product for over twenty yeares. The Este Lauder foundation is not a full coverage foundation. Which is why I like it. I don't want to look like I have makeup on when I have makeup on. My favorite primer is Smashbox. What has made my decision in buying mskeup is if it causes me to breakout, which is why I stick with what I buy. But since I am not working, I haven't worn any makeup. I enjoy your videos. They are a breath of fresh air to my daily convid isolation. ⚘ Thank you.

There are things that I love and trust that I continue to purchase because I KNOW they will do what I expect, BUT, I LOVE to try new things as well. If the new things do exactly what I expect, they become part of my constant.
I think people choose to buy drugstore products at Walmart, Target or Walgreens or at least before this Covid 19 mess. Ulta hikes their drugstore products prices up a bit. Love this please do a drugstore one❤️!
Yes, Walmart prices are way lower than Ulta's for same drugstore items. The only time I ever buy from Ulta is with 20% discount.

There are a lot of products a buy over and over. Estee Lauder double wear is one of them. I try other foundations but always go back to that one. And for what I'm watching: Dark, Picard, rewatching the x-files, handmaids tail.

Hi Emily! I just did your eyeshadow look. I tend to shy away from dark colors in a palette but I really like how this turned out! I got the reloaded palette on sale during Ulta’s 21 days of beauty. I also have the James Charles mini palette and would have loved to see your take on it.
I would love to see a video from you on doing make up for wearing a mask. I enjoy doing my make up, just for myself but if I know I’m going out and need to put on a mask I’ll just use under eye concealer and eyebrow product.
