You were our news anchor and when you left I was so sad. About six months ago my daughter in law told me I should watch a really nice TH-camr named Emily Noel and said that you used to be our news anchor. I was so happy to see you again! I thought you had just left the news. See you on video again tomorrow!
I feel like being a newscaster helped you get used to being in front of a camera for TH-cam! Keeps you relatable since you're not trying to be someone you're not to get views and have stayed true to yourself
Who doesn’t love a polished elegant look? News anchors, any job interview for any job, making a good first impression, you are going to be in somebody’s wedding photos that people will look at in future and you want to look your best. BUT you can’t break the bank! Thanks again Em!❤️❤️❤️
Emily Noel I just graduated from law school and I saved the video to come back to when I have trial or when I’m meeting a client. 😊 I’m excited to start practicing in quarantine!
Loved seeing your old News photos. I worked at the CBS affiliate station here in sales , and I remember all the anchors would be in the bathroom doing their makeup ☺️
I remember when you announced that you were transitioning to TH-cam full time and I was so excited for you! It's fun to be reminded of back when you were still doing the news. Love how informative and helpful this video is. I think this could be useful to more people than you think.
YES!!! My thoughts exactly! I often think about how Emily’s background in communications and reporting contribute to the depth of information in every review. There’s nothing “fake news” about this Beauty Broadcast!!! 🥰
You were the best morning news anchor ever, Emily!! Jim still misses seeing you on the news. Excellent, well thought out video! You are a wonderful teacher, and a beauty. Many blessings. prayers, and love..MaryEllen
A lot of us who hate being in front of the camera are now forced to due to working from home and having to attend video conferencing. Laptop and mobile phone cameras aren't the most flattering. This was very helpful! Thank you. ❤️
I might have to give that a try. My eyelids get so oily through the day to the point wear it actually gets in my eyes and stings. The liner would always give me black rings so I just quit wearing eyeliner.
I have a problem with mascara smudging. Even IT Cosmetic flakes on me. My DH gave me a gift card for lash extensions and I’ve been getting them ever since. It IS pricey, but I can go into work without makeup (on those days when I’m rushed), apply a little color to the lips, and bam. My problem is I’m hard wired that lashes go on last and it’s hard to do an eye look with long, fluttery lashes already there. Oh no, the horror! Lol. But seriously, my eyes are watery and that messes with the look (with or without extensions).
I started out in morning news too. (Associate producer). It’s a special breed of good crazy. I loved this video. It does affect how you look at TV . Your videos are always so informative and enjoyable. Love you Emily
I absolutely LOVE seeing pics of Emily back in her news anchor days! It’s so fun & reminds me of VERY EARLY TH-cam days - in the brown paneled apartment 🥰💚♥️
I remember your first anchor make up tutorial. I was battling depression and anxiety bc my brother was on his deathbed. Every night I watched that video and your voice was really soothing and helped me fall asleep. I still enjoy your videos, although I don't even wear make up 😅 God bless you Emilie!
I remember watching your original tutorial years ago, and I felt so inspired. You were one of the first you tubers I watched, and I haven't stopped in my 10 years of watching you
I remember you wayyy back of the beginning of both your careers outside the hone. You are so sweet and helped me sooo much learn eyeshadow. Love being part of your u tube family❤️ I’m a mum of 4 grown children married and in my latter 50’s and just enjoy watching you. Thank you . keep educating us like you do best Dawn
I loved the videos from back when you first started TH-cam. I love every single video you upload. That’s why I’m still here! You’re one of the very few people who I still watch from way back. Love you Emily
Same! Emily has never lost her touch. She’s relatable, honest, and just somehow comes across as a real life friend you can count on. I’ve cried countless times watching her pregnancy announcements, her palette launches, birth stories, my gosh I could go on!! I tune in to her IG daily just to see what the lesson of the day is for the girls 💕 Emily is just a breath of fresh air in an over saturated, TH-cam world.
I totally remember when you were doing the morning news! The brown wood paneling and paddle on the wall behind you😊 I love this video! Wishing you and the family the best, I just think you are a superstar. I would love to see a video on your comfy clothes choices to look like your “trying” but you’re still comfy and can play around w the kiddos. Thanks!
Social Worker here, not a news anchor however, I use your tips for my make-up to last for long days. I can watch you do make-up all day long Emily. Your instruction is so detailed. Thank you! Blessings from Calgary, Canada.
I stumbled across you way back when during 2011-2012 when I was just starting to really learn more about makeup and what I wanted to try first; because of you; I have so so many holy grails and you actually have helped me save money at times too; I trust your reviews above so many and guess what? I'm obsessed with the Pixi Brightening Peach Corrector too; I have been through so so many jars of it and I always go back to it because it's unlike anything else I've used... and you were the one that convinced me to try it... I'm so glad your still doing TH-cam after all these years and your still a kind hearted soul... Love ya Emily; you and your family are wonderful and you are one of my favorite TH-camrs... there were times when I was depressed and going through some tough situations and I would binge watch videos of yours; I would end up feeling so much happier and you were the first beauty TH-camr I really followed and got into... Thank you so much for being that positive change I needed back then and for being that positive light I need now
Love everything about this video; also loving the Profound thought and the Random thought. It’s been nice watching your videos all this years. Definitely time flies.
Oh this reminds me so much of your earlier videos! I love the refresh of your tutorial. I miss more technique/tutorials that you’ve done in the past. Keep it up!!! Thanks for all you’ve taught me over the years!
i love the idea of revisiting old videos! you should do a refresh of your Color Series! i watched the Coral 1 a few weeks ago and so many things are not available anymore
So much of what you have to say here is *invaluable* info for theater lovers as well as people who work in TV! Most importantly, thank you for sharing your heart with us as always. Anytime you do a beginner tutorial, it reminds me of listening to older female family members talk me through makeup as a teenager, and it’s so comforting. ❤️
I started watching you right around when I got my first news job. It didn’t work out for different reasons. But you’re still in an inspiration to me. You show me it’s possible to find a niche you’re good at and brings you joy. Plus I like how your news education influenced your approach to products. You test the product, spend time with it, then produce a thought out and researched piece to your viewers.
I would love to see a setting spray showdown style video. You have such great insight into staying power enhancement, sprayers, scent, and overall experience!
Well done, miss the old tutorials! This is PERFECT for anyone doing their own makeup for interviews, first job (any job) - it is not an extreme look . Graduates will enjoy this angle of professionalism . Well done & thank you!
I’ve been watching since 2012 lol! 💖 So I remember those days! You’ve grown so much, such an inspiration and what I love most is you’re just here for the complete love of makeup. So authentic and true to yourself ☺️😍✨
I remember when you announced that you were moving to TH-cam full time. I was so excited to see what you were going to deliver us and you have not disappoint! I’ve always found your voice to be very calming and informative.
I loooooove the stroll down memory lane for you! I love those pics. And I think it’s really cool getting an insight into a career like news- it’s something I know not much about, so your experiences are so interesting to hear about!
I am in no where near a newscaster but love supporting you. Appreciate the originality in your video ideas! Great tutorial! This can be useful for any time you want to look finished
I remember watching you when you were in new cast and I loved the videos you would take us along and showed us how you got ready 💕 been an og viewer for years love your channel and how far you have come along
This is so helpful! Thank you for this! I am a hs teacher who could use some of this as a daily look but with a slightly lighter hand. LOVE California in a Box! It is a must! Thanks again!
Love all your videos. Super excited to see this video. I would watch a video of clips of you on the news desk. I think I've been following you since way back then. You were the first make up channel I subscribed to. You are still my favorite. Your passion and excitement for make- up and how you still present it in such a interesting and fun way is why I still watch you. (It goes without saying how trustworthy you are. ) love the family vlogs too. This video can also help people on Zoom. I definitely had to up my bronzer, contour and eye makeup for Zoom. I know the other people don't care what anyone looks like but you are sitting thru the meeting looking at yourself. I like seeing the difference between what I look like in reality vs. What Zoom does to the look. Blush is the can't miss step. I agree. Hope you and your family stay safe and well. Thanks for all you create and share.
Great video, Emily. I have been drawn more & more to your videos in the past few years for numerous reasons. Reason 1 being you & I are only a year apart in age. We both have younger children. We also both have a love for adorable & functional makeup. Thanks for this video, even though I’m not in news & never will be, all your videos are informative & I learn a lot. You’re an absolute gem 💜
I have to say how reliable you are and how your recent videos have helped my virtual call game. Now that we have been working from home for two months and expect to do so the rest of the year, I am doing daily video calls. Without a full outfit the professional look is really based on the face. My makeup routine with your tips and inspiration has been invaluable to me. Just wanted to say a big thank you.
Just graduated with my degree in journalism! I’m mostly print and audio but I did some broadcast classes where I had to produce, anchor the weather, be a live reporter, and edit the newscast all while social distancing and in quarantine! By far the toughest thing I’ve ever done in my college career but I loved it! As someone who loves makeup, I spent extra time to make sure I looked presentable for when I anchored :) loved this so much!
Miss Emily I normally don' comment on the tutorials but I have subscribed to your channel and I watch all I can get my hands on. I think your piec3a are phenomenal and you alone have encouraged this woman to learn about makeup. I now look at me to see a new person I like. With makeup my outlook is so good. I thank you. Now I feel pretty.
Love all the suggestions! Even as a long time makeup lover this reminded me of some tips and tricks I need to try out again. I think I’ll send this video to my mother in law to help her with her new makeup I gave her for Mother’s Day!
I so clearly remember you uploading videos of your am news routine way back in the day. You gave some really helpful hints back then and these gems today were great! All of your recommendations may have been appropriate for the news, but they also apply to everyday life. Thank you so much and stay healthy and safe!
Thank you for all of the wonderful instruction and detailed application info!!! I know tutorial type videos aren’t very popular anymore, but I find them so helpful.
I think this is SUCH a cool video idea!! You come up with such fun, different, interesting makeup video ideas. I feel like a lot of the time when you start a video with,”I’m not sure this video will interest everyone...” I end up loving it. Your duping Disney Princess lip colors is an all time classic for me.
This was an AMAZING tutorial🤩! Thank you for considering beginners not only in your choice of products but also in application! I immediately forwarded this video to my sister who has NO clue when it comes to makeup but actually works for BBC and has to learn to give herself a polished look. Thanks so much😘💃🏾🥰
So loved this tutorial Emily! I have been with you from the start as well as many others here commenting. Even though I am not a news anchor, I learned something in the shadow placement - I nearly always learn something from you. Thanks as always for the great videos and wonderful, giving personality!
I don’t have a job where I would ever be on camera but I always hoped you would make a video like this. I’ve always been curious about newscaster makeup. Loved the throwback pics. You are such an incredible teacher.
This was such a nice video for beginners in the media world. I can also see it working for so many other professional people who are just starting out in the business world. Neons and bright colors are fun for weekend days and parties, but there are those who need the help of pros like you❣️ Great inspiration Em 🥰
I just enjoyed watching the makeup application. Right now it's interesting to see the newscasters working from home and doing their own makeup, whereas before they might have had a makeup artist to it for them in studio.
This is so helpful for my own channel Emily! My best friend is a MUA and will do my makeup for shoots often, but sometimes, I have to go at it solo! The eyeshadow lifting trick is genius. Thanks!! ❤️
Hey you! Yah you reading this! You are an amazing person and I just wanted to brighten up your day. There is only one you in the world so don't feel like you need to be someone else! Live up your life before you're extinct, because there will never be another you ever again! You are a beautiful, amazing person and you need to surround yourself with happiness and amazing people who treat you well :) Amazing video darling and great channel, I just wanted to spread some love around and make peoples day better :)
OMG I just got my Maybelline Nudes of New York palette today from Amazon. So happy to see you use it so I can get some idea. Thanks Emily, this is a great video
THANK YOU! I used to do modeling, stage acting & public speaking for years. Recently I haven't & therefore didn't need the heavier make up. Thanks to you mentioning the zoom & video meetings because I'm doing those recently due to the pandemic. I was wondering why I looked dead..... Now I know why. I have 2 zoom meetings next week and now I'll look alive, awake & at the top of my game!
So I have never used the technique that you did with the outer corner/ crease and I tried it this morning and wow! It made such a difference so much more flattering for my eye shape thank you 🙂
L’Oréal Double Extend Mascara is also a tubing formula and has an accompanying primer. The primer is quite important because it conditions the lashes and works with the mascara. I haven’t seen smudging OR flaking because it’s a very different formula than a fiber mascara.
I’ve always loved your news videos! I started watching you way after your news days but I’ve watched all those old videos because I found them so interesting. And I think this is particularly timely since so many of us have to be on video call these days for work. Including a lot of local news anchors - would love to see a webcam friendly makeup routine too!
Awesome look Emily. I’m a neutrals lover so this palette is right up my alley. I got this off of your product recommendation when it first came out and you used it on your channel for the first time I think. I love this palette. I love the plum shades, the rich taupes and most every shade in the palette!! 🥰💚🥰
I just keep thinking about how hard it was to go from doing stage makeup to studio makeup. Theater stage lighting washed you out so much you needed to go overboard-- you look like clown close up. And then studio lighting also washes you out, but not nearly as much... so you can't look like a clown close up or you will on camera too. It really is a fine line between the lighting and the makeup. The makeup is always going to seem slightly too intense off set, but on set you won't be able to tell at all. Wow. Did not realize I had so many thought on this hahaha. Thanks for this one Emily! I loved it.
The first "makeup videos" I began watching were actually by our local Cincinnati anchor, Bob Herzog, who does a daily "WakeUps and MakeUps" on himself and chats with viewers through his videos; it's an addictive watch for sure, and I believe it was prompted by the whole HD tv thing. He does a quick polish before the 4:35 am start time (UGH!). Looking polished is always a nice thing. I had no idea you had done your local morning news, how demanding that had to be! Great video!
This is also a helpful video for just the regular person who is new to makeup. Lots of great detailed steps on how to apply each product. 👏👏 well done.
I worked in TV news as a production assistant and later as an associate producer many, many years ago. I understand how you said thst you watch the news through a different lens. This was so fun to watch.
I always love watching your videos, feel like we could be like BFFs or sisters just hanging out doing our makeup. Love your tips and reviews, and I really appreciate the drugstore videos, as that’s mostly what I have currently.
I’ve been watching you since the beginning and you were my Mom’s news anchor. She lives in White County (Norris City) Illinois. When I would go visit I would be excited to see you in action since I knew you from TH-cam.
I am not on TV, but your tips offered here today are still so useful. We all want to present our best to people in a business setting, a classroom, on a date, coffee with a friend, etc. These are tried and true tips that can work for all of us. Thank YOU, Emily! 😊
Love that you did this video! I still remember watching the video where you made the announcement that you would be leaving the station to pursue TH-cam full time! 💕
I really loved that you explained how to do certain steps. I've been watching since you were in news and have always loved your videos. I still feel like there is so much to learn. Have you thought about doing a back to basics, how to do makeup series?
Omg! I've been following you for a while and I can't believe I didn't recognize you! I lived in Carbondale from 2009-2013 while my husband did his PhD. I definitely watched you nearly every single morning. Wow.
Emily you just keep coming out with original & entertaining video ideas one after the other! Been watching since your news anchor days! Thankyou for your content during this weird time :)
You were our news anchor and when you left I was so sad. About six months ago my daughter in law told me I should watch a really nice TH-camr named Emily Noel and said that you used to be our news anchor. I was so happy to see you again! I thought you had just left the news. See you on video again tomorrow!

thanks!! yeah ultimately the look could suit a lot of occasions! :D

Love how informative and helpful this video is. I think this could be useful to more people than you think.
I am not a news anchor and have no plans to become one but I remember when you were and found this video very interesting and nostalgic. Great work!
Immediate must-click!!! Been watching since the beginning so this is very exciting!!! 😁
aww thanks! :D
YES!!! My thoughts exactly! I often think about how Emily’s background in communications and reporting contribute to the depth of information in every review. There’s nothing “fake news” about this Beauty Broadcast!!! 🥰
I've been around since the beginning. I bet this brought back some memories for you!
it sure did!! and thank you! :D
Thank you. ❤️
That Milani eyeliner is the TRUTH. The best hands down. My eyelids get oily sometimes and this eyeliner doesn’t budge one bit!
Amen to that!
I will have to get it now!!!
I might have to give that a try. My eyelids get so oily through the day to the point wear it actually gets in my eyes and stings. The liner would always give me black rings so I just quit wearing eyeliner.

aww love you! True... special sister/brotherhood of people!! :D
“A special breed of good crazy” Sounds kinda like how the restaurant industry is lol
I absolutely LOVE seeing pics of Emily back in her news anchor days! It’s so fun & reminds me of VERY EARLY TH-cam days - in the brown paneled apartment 🥰💚♥️
with the sorority wood thing hanging on the back!
Marina Segura omg lol, yes!
“To look finished but not distract”. That’s my goal for everyday make up! And I’m not on tv. Thanks for this video
I remember your first anchor make up tutorial. I was battling depression and anxiety bc my brother was on his deathbed.
I love when you share simple looks. You are so beautiful Emily ♥️
This is so cool! I loved your HD on camera tutorials! This is very cool to see! Great video idea!
You are a beautiful, amazing person and you need to surround yourself with happiness and amazing people who treat you well :)
Amazing video darling and great channel, I just wanted to spread some love around and make peoples day better :)
Nice look! A lot of folks do the dark crease last, but I think you have a good plan to put the dark on first, blend it out, then add the other colors.
OMG I just got my Maybelline Nudes of New York palette today from Amazon. So happy to see you use it so I can get some idea. Thanks Emily, this is a great video
Updated work glam is great! We can change anything we need to suit our style. You are wonderful at fresh content!
I’ve been watching you since way back at the beginning. Haven’t missed a single video. So this is awesome to see, a trip down memory lane.
Nyx has pencils called “off white “ and they are pale colors for your waterlines
I need it! White is to drastic and if I use black on my waterline my eyes look very small
So I have never used the technique that you did with the outer corner/ crease and I tried it this morning and wow! It made such a difference so much more flattering for my eye shape thank you 🙂
This is so fun to watch! And that elegant makeup look can be perfect for many things beyond news. Would be a perfect job interview look too.
Yay! This was my video request. I just got so excited when I saw the notification!
Are you a news anchor, Bay?
Girl this speaks to me! Have been so curious about your past career! Awesome
L’Oréal Double Extend Mascara is also a tubing formula and has an accompanying primer. The primer is quite important because it conditions the lashes and works with the mascara. I haven’t seen smudging OR flaking because it’s a very different formula than a fiber mascara.
Thank you Emily for this, I have a music audition coming up via video and this will really help to create that important good first impression 😊
You are the reason I started to experiment with drugstore makeup. Thanks for being so generous with your time and detailed info. ♥️
You have the best way of explaining makeup techniques. So easy to understand and to remember.
I just bought that Hard Candy primer a couple hours ago based on your previous videos. I'm excited to try it!
Great video idea, BTW!
I’ve always loved your news videos! I started watching you way after your news days but I’ve watched all those old videos because I found them so interesting. And I think this is particularly timely since so many of us have to be on video call these days for work. Including a lot of local news anchors - would love to see a webcam friendly makeup routine too!
Nyx matte liquid liner is another really great eyeliner option
Hey Em...how are ya. Just wanted to say, as soon as your vidoe pops up...I immediately click like. Your content brings positivity.
THANK YOU so much!! I appreciate that!
I’m not a news anchor or anyone who’s on film (I’m a nurse) but this is such a lovely look for anybody. Thanks Em. Great instruction
I’m not in broadcasting and I already know how to do makeup but I just had to watch because I love watching you so much 🤣
I'm not a newscaster and I found this video very instructive. Excellent step by step procedural. Thorough. I really enjoyed it.
Emily is the most helpful influencer ever when giving tutorials! ❤️
Love the look as always beautiful. I will try this look. Thank you for taking the time to show us step by step.
OMG Emily I love this video so much! What a great makeup lesson for actually ANYONE! Genius. Thank you. :)
Emily, someday can you give us a makeup report on what your thoughts on the best stick concealer is? Love this video idea too!!
No wonder! You have such a great voice!!!!
