    My FIRST TIME to be in your channel and I'd say I truly LOVE and appreciate your IDEAS and how you take time to explain WHY and HOW you did what you did!
    And presently, I am into designing the entire house as we have decided to relocate to the second floor as we are constantly flooded around 3 to 4 times a year. And the kitchen is the most interesting but intricate area that requires a lot of thought...and I am so HAPPY to find your vlog featuring and open window by the counter top with INDUSTRIAL HANGING SHELVES! An IDEA 💡 I definitely would LOVE to DUPLICATE!
    THANKS to both of you ... and may GOD continually BLESS your marriage and your family ❣️❣️❣️
    Addendum: I am now officially your 291st 🎖️NEW SUBSCRIBER here 🌸🌿🌻🌼☘️🌷 .. You got LOVELY GARDEN too!

    Love your kitchen and your decor ,We did our kitchen mostly from salvage ,we used most of the cupboards that were allready there ,We took the doors off some of the top ones and just have the open shelving,We painted them a jadeite green with creamy interiors and the walls a lighter shade of green ,Our counter tops we have 5 different colours of granite which were salvaged pieces,a 3 bowl cast iron sink from salvage ,I insisted on a pantry ,my husband squeezed one in which is tiny and is a “stand in “ pantry,I designed U shaped shelves ,I keep it reasonably tidy with things in jars etc ,Can’t wait to see more of what you’ve done ,

    I love what you did with your tiny kitchen. Managed get in all the essentials without looking cluttered. I do love your slate. I have the black honed granite and I agree it looks a lot like slate.

      @@stonecottageadventures304 Really love it! Never stains, never has fingerprints. Very low maintenance. Very durable- no scratches.

    Our high school chemistry countertops were soapstone. I’ve wanted it in my kitchen ever since. I figured if it held up there, it was a great way to go. And I love the minor wear it gets. It looks like you actually use your kitchen, it’s not just for show.

      As a mother of 4 and grandmother of 9, cooking is on the industrial scale! When I told them I was doing a youtube channel, they all assumed it would be about cooking.

    You might consider putting a glass French door on your pantry. I did and have a light inside and makes my kitchen look even bigger

    how delighted I was to find your website. I look forward to more videos. Painting your chain link fence was brilliant.

    While watching your video, I had a thought to improve your curb appeal. I think it would be beautiful to remove the chain link part of your fence, leave the frame, and then install pickets and paint all a uniform color. Your garden and home are so charming. I think it you would be the cherry on top.

    • @stonecottageadventures304
      @stonecottageadventures304  ปีที่แล้ว

      That was my original plan, but it would require sacrificing some wonderful plants that are entwined in the chain link. Decisions, decisions!

      @Stone Cottage Adventures I understand! I wouldn't let the fence company install our fence all the way around the backyard because it would mean wiping out my Anabell Hydrangeas. I am really enjoying your videos . Have a wonderful day!

    Hi! I just found your channel, subscribed and I'm poking around. Like the kitchen window shelves, but wonder how do you wash the windows?

    • @stonecottageadventures304
      @stonecottageadventures304  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Welcome!! Good question. We can either open the casement window and clean them from the outside. Or we can take down the shelves! Yuck. Much easier to just go outside.

    What are the best ways to keep the soapstone looking good?

    • @stonecottageadventures304
      @stonecottageadventures304  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The easiset way is to just apply mineral oil that I buy at the pharmacy. They also sell a pricier product that has beeswax and lasts longer.

      My professional training was as a teacher - secondary English, science, and math. Then I did interior decorating and design - mostly residential. And finally I sold real estate. You could say I have a variety of interests or a short attention span!
