Another great video Jose. People will always complain about the homeless people drinking and using drugs. But those same people don’t complain about the housed people who are alcoholics and drug addicted, we all know people like that. It’s only a problem for them when homeless people do it.

I'm homeless. Been outside two years. I went to the shelter on Burnside to sign up for the bed lottery. But was turned away because it's male only. Went to the salvation army shelter as recommended, but they were turning away all people because of a funding issue (yet still had employees, oddly). The other shelter in town that takes women is a youth shelter for under 25 only. I found out there's nowhere for me in all of Portland. The parks were all no go. I didn't have a tent. I slept in the rain on a sidewalk and got trenchfoot.
Your story might have problems with rules, but you don't know anyone else's story until you ask them.
You say they don't obey rules to decrease any empathy. Spare me the tragedy of your delicate feelings that require you to do that to others. If anyone could just live in a shelter permanently for free, most employed people would do so to save money for better things than rent. It can't completely solve the problem without being swamped by those not needy. Such is life in the USA.

No. They've already begun. I know because it's imminently happening to me. And it is a harm and a foul because even people who try to or have a clean camping area are being forced to scurry out without being offered some where to go. Having to leave most of their belongings behind to be bulldozed because there's no way to carry it away in a day or one trip by hand on foot; and in many cases/locations having no shelters at all nearby, or poorly maintained and staffed ones, most the kind that only let you take in one or two small bags, no pets, then shove you out the doors in the morning with nowhere to go all day until the place serves dinner in the evening and makes you get in line for a bed at a place that was likely already at capacity or close enough before this asinine bill got passed.
Maybe somewhere in it, it opens a way for funds to be allocated to create places eventually to put all the different types of homeless into something better than the traditional type homeless shelter model that already proved to be wasteful, counter productive to actually meeting the needs of the different kinds of homeless in a dignified way that didn't warehouse them all and step on their human rights. But as of right now even a mere 10 days after HB1365 was signed, the oustings and threats of incarceration and worse have already been started by people who were just chomping at the bit to start getting things done to eradicate the homeless. Fair enough, I understand, most of them/us cause a lot of unwanted circumstances and I can understand people not wanting to have many nearby regardless of what "type' they are.
But the camp shake downs and clearings and individual round ups are being done, as they always have, without any humane way to deal with anyone or a place to put people. Only now we have no rights at all that ordinary Americans have, nor a way to sustain life and I believe this bill is just another ponzi scheme to push money and votes around and opens ways for sanctioned injustices to occur.
      My situation feels hopeless

Mental health .... I keep telling everyone in Congress that it's not an opiate crisis when people are doing meth and cocaine and other drugs along with it... Calling it an opiate crisis is just a Band-Aid over the real problem.... Mental illness.... We all have a form of it don't be ashamed.... Just get better and get back on your feet... Zoning laws need to change throughout America. There's no reason, if you buy land, that you can't live in a tiny house (except for the limited zoning laws on the land people own). Gov't should mind their own business if they can't help people in poverty.

Stores are being robbed so much they`re going out of business in sanctuary cities like NYC, Chicago, and other places.. Democrats promised millions of people a place to stay and a job and they`re failing at keeping that promise really badly. If you don`t believe me go to a search engine and type in MIgrant struggles with work permits, homelessness in sanctuary cities, and stores closing due to crime in sanctuary cities.

If there are new laws being passed there to "clamp down on homelessness" or Homeless camps, well I don't know what temperature drops to over there in December, but where I live here in Ireland the winters at times can get cold enough to kill people who are sleeping rough.
And like many people stuck out on the streets, a weakened bodied person with chronic illness is at more risk from the elements than a young or healthy person.
So even an average winter could be a death sentence to a person like this.

When governments introduce certain policies or plans that seem inhumane and cold hearted, that make life even harder for what in many cases are victims of circumstance, mentally ill, troubled or traumatised souls..
When I see these moves well I might be surprised if like this for one of the endless reasons to believe the government rulers might not have our best interests at heart or over their own interests and agendas
If it weren't for the endless amounts of people with different forms of disabilities, from the physically to the mentally disabled, from disabled vets and addicts with PTSD and mental illness who are left out on the streets without adequate, if any support or means to maintain themselves.
This kinds of makes it hard to think there are many caring people behind the decisions..
and pulling the strings of the leaders themselves..
Leaders being career politicians, and taking their direction from the lobbying interests and the European Union/Nato/UN.
The homeless and the everyday people aren't even in their sphere of perception. That's the job for the media and other various forms of MK propaganda

They can afford $200 a day drug habits, cigarettes, booze...but not an apartment. They have the energy to get the money necessary to stay loaded up on substances, but nothing else. You know how hard that is? It's harder to do that than to work 3 jobs to pay for a place. A LOT HARDER! I been homeless before. All over America including the streets of Tampa and Gibsonton - which is a little south of Tampa on 41. I lived on the streets for about 10 years, and NOTHING, and I do mean NOTHING changed about my situation until I wanted to do it. No amount of bleeding-heart lefties, programs, no amount of blaming PTSD, no amount of sermons before supper at rescue missions, no amount of BLAMING OTHERS, no amount of excuses or general BS...no amount of blaming the rich, blaming society, blaming my parents, drinking the problem away, people giving me free stuff, NOTHING! Until I quit drinking and using drugs, until I come to the conclusion that cocaine wasn't the answer, until I asked God for guidance, until I decided that I was worth more than being strung out in a wet tent smelling like a goat, until I said "enough is enough" I kept getting what I was getting, because I kept doing what I was doing. And dude is correct. HE'S A GROWN PERSON. Grown people take care of business.

...and I have been on the streets of Charleston, WV too. Arrived there on accident one day after I passed out in a CXS train in Cincinnati - where I was living on the streets in Over The Rhine back when it was really crazy and trashy. Cinti. had an alcoholic homeless shelter back then where people who were drunk and all messed up on drugs could sleep. On Race St. a little bit down from Washington Park. Then they had the Mary Magdalene place in 15th St. (?) where the homeless could take a shower and pick through donated clothes to change in to. Anywho, slept in the woods and under the overpasses downtown Charleston by the train tracks just a-drinkin' my life away about as full of BS excuses as homeboy. It was someone else's fault! Slept in the rescue mission there a bunch of times. It was called "Crossroads" if I remember right. I don't know if it's still there, but that was the best homeless shelter that I've ever been in. They ain't telling me nothing. Been there, done that. Give up the ghost, knock that monkey off ya back, and decide that you're better than that.

About tattoos I don't know that this gentleman is correct that society has come to "accept" tattoos. Sad to be judged but... isn't that the reason people get tattoos? To claim their "individuality" and to be "seen"? Honestly if I ran a business I'd want my own "branding"--- not theirs ---no pun intended...
Further, tattoos--- especially to the extreme--- with full arm/body piercings etc... It often does illustrate poor decision making. (Tattoos gotten during emotional times or to symbolize a certain "belief")--- Also the money spent on body alterations and adornment can run into thousands...Was this money spent wisely?... Clearly priorities are misplaced hence the situation many are in... And the cigarettes... Bad choices being made every step of the way.

Alcohol became more important then their jobs and paying bills. There are homeless people who couldn't afford rent due to greed in rent, mortgage, vehicle insurance and keeping up with repairs on that vehicle. I have no home . I live with my daughter. But i didn't turn to drugs , didn't turn to alcohol. I value my life and if i had property and homeless people who are drugs attics or alcoholic will be chased off and or arrested on trespassing. Its the drugs and alcohol plus the filth they bring along of also lack of disrespectful for the land that others need to use. The mental illness needs to be in a mental health care institution that government closed down. These people choose the drugs and alcohol over trying to do themselves better. Its a choice not to put blame on those that dont want homeless people near or on their land .

OK you need a reality check here… People who have worked their entire lives and are still in so called good corporate jobs and have been contributing members of society that never went on unemployment, went on disability, spend time in jail… are becoming unable to afford housing food and transportation forget about anything else.
The idea that all homeless people need to do is just sign up for all this free stuff And lo and behold their problems are solved. Then find an employer that will actually hire them with no home address, based on their past and if they’re lucky make $20 an hour, while at the same time losing any SSI reducing the net gain of income to like $10 an hour, which is completely inadequate, even if they weren’t drug users to live on. Then find a bunch of other homeless buddies and together find a place to live… are you kidding?
It probably will go something like this trying to find a roof over your head after being in that situation…Mr. landlord? I need an apartment, OK…fill out this application. Oh wait, you haven’t worked in 10 years, have no credit or checking account and have been living on the street and had a drug problem. Sure the penthouse suite would be perfect for you and you’re 5 buddies, I’ll introduce you to all your new neighbors.
You’re blaming the victim which is the easiest thing. I’m not disputing that change has to come from within and that giving drug addicted homeless people money is not a solution, but you appear to believe that you are immune from ever being homeless and underestimating the effort that is required and the obstacles to overcome in order to get out of that situation to a perverse degree. I wouldn’t be so sure.

Poor decisions. Expecting someone else to provide their daily needs.
In 1976, I was a 17 year old high school dropout who was homeless. I knew it wasn’t a life I wanted to live so I joined the military. Had to bum the money to get the buzz cut because it wasn’t free and I didn’t have the buck fifty.
Long story short, I retired in 2015 at 56. Paid cash for a 3Bd/2Ba and my life is riding motorcycles and playing with grandkids.
You are the author of your life.

Than you get hit by a bus and end up homeless again. No man can control his life

@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS Another dumb excuse to lead a lazy life. Even though chance happens to all, you do control your life.
      Get real.

No offense, but if people just voted for their own best interests this would not be happening. We liberals may be annoying af, but we CARE! We care and we want to help.
