The trenchgun was used up to Vietnam. Was very effective in close quarters jungle warfare. The VC didn’t like the trenchgun and often any solider caught with one was beheaded.

Technically the flamethrowers were used more to flush out enemy trenches rather than actually burn them alive. Most casualties related to flamethrower squads came from the supporting infantry that shot the retreating soldiers.

I use 3 inch magnum 15 pellets, I get really good patterns at 50 yards and at least one pellet on at 75. One pellet might not kill you but a pellet in your torso or gut will spoil your whole day.
Trow a slug in it and you got yourself a sniper rifle... Also shotgun shots can be effective at surprisingly long ranges even without the slugs because the spread is usually not that large.

Yes The Japanese were suicide bombing and fighting hard even after the first nuke hit. Took a second nuke to make them surrender.
Did we want to nuke Japan the first time? No. Did we think they’d surrender after the first time? Yes, and as a result soldiers were still going home in body bags. Did we have to nuke them a second time? Well odds are if we didn’t do it, there’d still be soldiers going home in body bags while the war continued, but just because we did it with the best intentions and it ended up ending WW II thus preventing it from being worse then World War I didn’t make it any easier for us to live knowing we did it twice. We had three options nuke em again and hope they finally surrender, surrender, or keep fighting until one of us did surrender which would of resulted in a lot more blood and death for both sides, likely even the world.

The french were the first to use gas in WW1, but they used tear gas.
The germans were the ones who introduced chlorine gas, or mustard gas as it is known as.
But the point still stands that germans accused the americans for use of inhumane weaponry while they themselves used chlorine gas and chlorine gas sounds like a terrible way to die.
It destroys the victims respiratory system, leaving them to die from suffocation and even if you survive it affects your eyes as well, leaving you with ruined eyesight and severe lung damage.
Not to mention the flamethrowers.

I use 3 inch magnum 15 pellets, I get really good patterns at 50 yards and at least one pellet on at 75. One pellet might not kill you but a pellet in your torso or gut will spoil your whole day.
