    Should fill the screw wholes with silicone if you didn’t. Just incase water gets pasted the first Bead u put in. Great video I just finished doing my 3 piece corner dreamline shower wall and door

    Definitely keeping your video in my favorites. I have one last bathroom to renovate and I want to do more the reno on my own, with the exception of plumbing. Codes here are too much for me to handle so I would rather have a professional do it but I definitely want to install a shower with a fixed glass panel! Thank you for the informative video as always!

    Only need to drill one hole in the bottom..on the outside edge away from wall..and fill with silicone before screwing down The wall jamb screws and caulk will keep in place and less holes for water to find. Also its much easier to just drill into grout lines in wall not through tile

    Juat curious, why didnt you keep the holes drilled on the wall within the grout lines instead of drilling through the face of tile?

    What considerations for 2nd floor wood subfloor with my 30x60 walk in shower using a Dreamline pan. Had utilized red guard under pan and have extra gallon of North American Adhesives NA1740 waterproofing to use?? Planned on installing a good quality LVT product. To assure minimal potential water issues on floor will appreciate recommendations. Thx

  • @rickvess790
    @rickvess790 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why not just glue the floor U channel instead of drilling in the threshold? This will leak FOR SURE! Three screws into a 2x4 framing under the tile should provide plenty of support while being a LOT less risky for leaks.

      @@KellyConcepts just to confirm the glass panel is the same size as the shower pan if the pan replaced a tub. How much water gets onto the floor outside the shower? The glass looks taller than 60 inches. I see the same brand on Amazon with a measurement of 72x27

    • @KellyConcepts
      @KellyConcepts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@texascrossbowdude636 the glass is 72" H, the 60" is the length of my pan base. A little water does mist out onto the floor so I keep a bath mat there and haven't had any other issues. If this were a 32" W pan it may just be enough to prevent water escaping but mine is 30".

      @@KellyConcepts great thx, I may get the enamel metal coated pan for ease of installation and I'll have to see if this glass panel will work with that style pan. I assume it would as long as I use screws for metal like a self tapping screw.

    One thing to call out. If you have a normal shower curb, DO NOT DRILL INTO IT because it will cause a water leak - guarantee.

    • @rickvinmi7141
      @rickvinmi7141 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have one of these to install, and I have been trying to explain this to Dreamline, but they say not drilling into my marble threshold, Oatey PVC liner, and bricks (I did not use 2x4s on basement floor) will void their rather useless warranty. I plan to drill into the ceramic wall and 2x4 but use 3M VHB acrylic glazing tape to adhere the bottom U channel to the marble threshold, likely with clear silicone on inner edge and/or Loctite clear Power Grab adhesive on outer edges of lower U channel. Any opinions?? It seems to me that about 90% of the stress will be on the wall U channel anyway.
