    You've just got too add a spacer sleeve inside the hub carrier, between the two bearings. Make it small enough in diameter so that it just fits over the axle shaft. This way the inner bearing races will tighten against the spacer and the wheel nut won't be able to side load the bearing, causing the binding. MIP axle kits have this spacer in them. I have made some of my own as well.

      cwthemachinist What did you use as a spacer? I've got the same shafts and the same problem, they are otherwise pretty decent but I keep spinning wheel hex's out as I can't run them tight enough, with or without washers!

      Marc Pearson, you can use steel tubing or small steel standoffs. Check into your local hardware store. You may have to do a little filing our grinding to get the length just right. I made mine on my metal lathe.

      Center ring out of old bearings work good as a spacer for this i used them on my rustler and stampede no more binding 😊
      Just pop the center out of some old worn bearings and put it between then bearings 😉

    @Kevin Talbot I recommend you get the RPM wide bumper. It protects the arms, and the shock. Much better than the stock bumper.

    It seems to be the design of the RPM rear hubs. I've seen it before. If you use the stock drive shafts you won't have a problem.

    Another cracking mod video!👍 Good luck with those drive shafts i found them weaker than the stock one's on my 6s slash, the drive pins kept popping out through the spring retainer's!...........i use the traxxas steel cvd's now, would use mip's but they cost more plus the shipping

    try using a shim for the driveshaft, that could help with the binding.

    i broke a front wheel hub on my rustler and replaced it with an rpm one and when i tighten up the wheel it would spin slower than the left one with the same bearings after a while i notice the inside of the hub is smaller than the original one and i believe the wheel axels hit the plastic inside the hub but im not sure if its the rpm hubs

    File down the inner edge of the hex so it doesn't rub on the bearing and bind it up? Does it have a drive pin?

    Are the rear Hubs thicker then stock has a similar problem with one of mine it was about 0.5 mm thicker so had to take a little out of the inside of the hub so the bearings sit closer

    • @kingwilli2559
      @kingwilli2559 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the parts you want to replace in high impact areas such as a-arms and shock towers you want to stick to things like rpm plastics because they can easily flex and return to shape absorbing the impact where aluminum will bend and stay bent. But in lower impact areas where you don't want much flex like hubs, shocks and hingepin braces aluminum can be really beneficial

    I need those drive shafts. Just saying, i cut my finger in 2 places, bruised it and numbed it trying to get that stupid shaft onto the motor area. Its because i had to bend the rpm plastic with two screw drivers whilst trying to slip it in. Took nearly an hour... yours looks much easier
